It's your typical diner food, much like Denny's. I've never had trouble finding seating here even when they are busy. I go to Black bear once every 10 years and it's still nice. I feel like I'm in Tahoe when I'm inside, which is the best! Relaxing nature vibes. Our wait staff Juanita today was very kind and attentive! We got our orders and food quickly and enjoyed a nice breakfast. I tried cinnamon roll French toast which was very fun. I came in and was instantly greeted, led to a table of my choosing and then immediately welcomed by Juanita, my service professional. I took some hot tea, which was served so fast--thank you Juanita! I then placed my desired order--GRITS, and also some biscuits with gravy, but let's be serious, I'm here for the grits. I wish I could teach folks how to properly make grits. The family wanted to come here so here we are. We have a location where we live but needless to say I didn't enjoy it. Perhaps, I ordered the wrong thing. So here we are now and I wanted to give it a second try. On the day that we dinned there was plenty of comfy booths available. When we were seated our server arrived right away. Her name was Coco and she was helpful, and sweet. We ordered a little bit of everything. I ordered the veggie omelette with the potatoes and rye bread. My husband and sister-in-law ordered French toast. My husband had the bread pudding French toast. My husband and sister-in-law devoured their food and they really enjoyed it. I took my Mom here for lunch on our way to a family event. As we walked in, the manager (dark haired guy) I assumed, greeted us and asked how we were. I mentioned casually it was my Mom's birthday and he greeted her happy one. Our server was Sandra and she was super friendly. She told us to take our time looking at menu while she got our drinks. It's an extensive menu with lots to choose from. We placed our orders and Sandra was so detailed in answering questions and explaining choices with our meals. The restaurant has that cozy diner feel with bear decor everywhere. We went around St. Patrick's Day and they had a special menu. I ended going off that menu and had the Corned Beef and Cabbage. It also included Mashed Potatoes and Gravy and Veggies. It was really good, I enjoyed it and it was a good size portion. My Mom had a Patty Melt with Mashed Potatoes and Gravy as her side and she liked it. We were finished eating, waiting for our check when Sandra came with a bowl of Ice Cream with Whipped Cream and Sprinkles and a candle on top, and was singing Happy Birthday. What a nice surprise! Obviously the manager mentioned the birthday to her. She was so kind, really gave my Mom a heartfelt birthday greeting. She seemed to be a bit overwhelmed, even though it was a slow Tuesday morning. It took a bit of time to get her attention, but in her defense, she had to serve a family of 7 in our section at the same time. She still kept a smile, so we didn't complain. The food was standard. Very fast, food came out in less then 5mins. The staff was pleasant. My server was Juanita she was great quick, came to my table regularly.

Waited a long time to be seated and an hour for our food to come out cold. Fries weren't fully cooked. Waitress was really sweet but other than that terrible experience wouldn't recommend this location they need more staff and more experienced cooks. read more
