We wanted to go somewhere for brunch after Palm Sunday service. Even though we hadn't eaten at El Torito for a long time, it was close. The restaurant was bustling when we got there. No parking near the restaurant, but lots in the shopping center. It took a while before the hostess showed up and the server missed us being seated. Once I told her and asked for water, she was very attentive the rest of our meal. Our mimosa glasses were constantly filled. She brought us a plate of cinnamon pancakes. The brunch buffet was an incredible array of food. We visited one table and had a couple desserts. We tried as much dishes as we could pile onto our plates. Too much food for us to eat in one visit. The service was good. It took a very long time for our food to arrive and we were the first ones there. I didn't mind tho. The food was horrible. I'm Mexican so I might be too Mexican for this place. I ordered birria tacos and my husband ordered enchiladas. My food was super salty and did not taste good this includes; birria tacos and rice. The consome was just oil. I tried my husband's enchiladas and it tasted a little better than birria tacos, I ended up trading plates with him since I need to at least eat something. The rice was still salty. The Jamaica drink didn't even taste like Jamaica, but it was the only thing good (below average). Overall I would not come here again. Ugh I would have given El Torito five stars because the ambiance, food and server were outstanding. The low score is due to what was observed at the bar. Bartender mixing drink for an employee in a paper cup. He hands paper cup to employee, she takes a sip and hands it back to tender. Tender adds more alcohol, takes a straw for a taste, then he proceeds to pour contents of paper cup into shaker, (remember employee took a prior sip) then pours in paper cup. Employee takes a sip, gives thumbs up and goes out the side back door. It's my opinion that it's not good practice to have anyone taste test from a paper cup or any cup then return to bartender to add more alcohol and use shaker after a taste test. Disgusting! I don't know what protocol is but drinking adult beverages on one's break is questionable. And yes, she was observed drinking, eating and then coming back for her duties. It's Happy Hour. read more

The food was delicious -- I ordered the fajitas, which come with tortillas, rice, and beans. The portions were generous and could easily serve 2 people. We came here Saturday morning and had an amazing experience. The service was excellent, and our server Sandy was really nice, friendly, helpful, and had so much patience with us. She truly made the whole experience even better. This is a Mexican restaurant with a brunch buffet, and it honestly surprised me because I thought the brunch was Sundays only. I originally came just wanting pancakes, but the buffet completely exceeded my expectations. They had birria, rice, refried beans, tortillas, enchiladas, Sweet Corn Tomalito, bacon, sausage, waffles, pancakes, an omelette bar, and so much more. They even had conchas, and everything tasted fresh. For drinks, they had fresh orange juice, apple juice, jicama, along with self serve hot chocolate, coffee, and water. They also had a chocolate fondue fountain with fruit, and this wasn't even Sunday brunch. The inside was very nice and welcoming. Overall, everything was great, especially the service. I've now been their twice for Sunday brunch and it never disappoints. They have a great spread of breakfast and lunch food, plus the sweets are endless. From his many years of expertise in crafting the perfect libatIon, whether it's on the menu or not, to his magnetic personality and smile, if ever you're having a bad day, come see Juan and he will fix it right up for you! However, on this most recent visit, we ordered from the menu. Everything comes as very large portions, so be prepared to take home enough for maybe another meal or plan to share with someone. Service is good. Food is good with nice presentation, but nothing spectacular. I would have preferred the carne asada burrito to be a bit less spicy for it to be more palatable. So it was an impromptu dinner take out night. I am a vegetarian so when I went there they suggested spinach enchiladas which was amazing. My husband had a client meet that afternoon so he just went for some nachos and dip. Overall food was hot and fresh. Everything was packed so well that it was easy to eat even in car lol. Even on a Thu night the place was buzzing. So many people at the bar and the restaurant was also almost half full. I have been here before and find it very convenient and comforting. I was born on Mother's Day. We went for a meal for my birthday. We arrived at the restaurant at 1:45 and th Mother's Day buffet went until 2 pm according to the LARGE banner outside the restaurant. We ordered drinks and asked if we could order off the regular menu, the survey told us that not until 2 pm, then were we got our drinks, I tried to order chips and salsa and I was told they weren't ready and I couldn't order off the menu until 2:30 pm. We eventually ordered door dash from the restaurant. The app said it was "likely ready" at 2:52 pm. It was not ready. We left the restaurant at 3:10 pm without being able to order food at our table (not even chips and salsa) and our door dash order was also not ready for us. They did not tell us we could only have the Buffett when we sat us. The hostess was the General Manager the Manager was the host and the server was a liar. Happy Mother's Day Birthday to me!!! We ordered a salad and some happy hour stuff. The tacos and salad were hella good! The food never disappoints. The only issue I have was the service time, the service when we got it was GREAT. We enjoyed the atmosphere, the music, and the sports playing upon coming in and being seated. The chips and salsa were fantastic (my gf loved the salsa a lot!). We ordered the margarita flight, which I loved (gf loved the lemon lime flavored one). We then waited quite sometime for our food. We ordered the mahi mahi tacos, the carne asada fries, mexican street corn, and the taco salad. When it all finally had come, the Mahi Mahi tacos and mexican street corn were both delicious (my gf was expecting the spicy mayo sauce on the corn which disappointed her). The taco salad turned out well from my perspective, yet gf didn't like that the taco shell wasn't a flour tortilla shell. Lastly, the carne asada fries were lukewarm and I have a feeling it was because the servers wanted to get everything out at once. Next time, we will be sure to not overwhelm the servers and kitchen with foods with different cook times, and the 4 is mainly because of the lukewarm fries from my end, beyond giving feedback on the experience from my significant other. Another 5 star lunch! Gosh I love this place. As always, immediate and friendly greeting at a well maintained and clean bar. I orders the jalapeño cucumber margarita--yum yum and YUM!!! I visited El Torito again and did not have a good experience. We came for the taco bar which we were told was $15.99 when we walked in. Later we were charged $19.50 per person. No one was working the bar, and when an employee did come over they did not warm our tortillas and gave very minimal meat. Meats are sitting out for a while so are dry and chewy. Additional I was charged $8 for a fountain drink which is ridiculous. Low quality and prices don't match. Do not go here. read more
