La Milpa has been around for years and I've been there quite a few times but just recently tried their menudo and OMG it is amazing! I just went yesterday with my mom and this morning I was considering going back for more! When it comes to certain dishes, I am picky and menudo is one of them. But their menudo is full of flavor, the tripe is so tender and they don't charge extra for hominy! The waitress was very attentive and nice. She came to refill our coffee and asked if we needed anything else a few times. We never felt like we needed to flag her down because she would come check on us. I can't wait to go back for some more delicious menudo!

The ambience is very unique to this place - it feels like I've stepped into a 1980s set - I like it. The staff are friendly and the service is quick. There are good vegetarian options as well. The portion sizes are decent and so are the prices.

Family owned business in a strip mall with plenty of parking. Very solid food, especially the basics of tacos and enchiladas. Nice staff, very attentive.

I came here in a weekday and the restaurant wasn't busy. There are plenty of seats and parking outside. The service here was okay. The place has a classic aesthetic. I got the chicken enchilada and it was okay. It wasn't that flavorful. I wish I got it with verde sauce or something because it definitely felt like something was missing. There are definitely better traditional Mexican spots in the area. I was hoping the chips would be fresh and hot but they weren't. I was expecting more since this place has been a classic Milpitas staple. I don't think it's worth the price.

It's been a few years since I've been here. Very home cooked feel, the foods good and ingredients used are fresh. Waiters were nice as always! Chips and salsa were at the table with my wife when I got back from washing up. The food came out fast as well! Chile verde was good, first time I had it here and I'm used to the blended up chile style I guess. Beans and rice were on point. Wife had the carne asada plate. It was cooked perfect but a little bland for me. I ended up salting a few pieces for myself. Some hot sauce would have complimented well but I didn't want to bother and ask during lunch hour ‍

Food was great. Way more options than a typical taqueria. You get most of a traditional Mexican menu. I think it was missing maybe like sopes. But that could be a regional thing. The milanesa portion was huge and tasty. It was made with lomo de puerco or pork loin. I got an enchiladas Rojas de queso. There are no tomatoes or canned sauce. It tasted authentic to me. Made of dried red Chiles. Maybe guajillo or California Chiles. Not sure the specifics. But it was tasty. I tried the carnitas from my kids plate and they were good. The service was good. It was busy for a weekday afternoon. The ambiance was fine. The restaurant seemed like it had been established for generations. I'm not from the area, but it felt like it could be a staple for some families.

Great, authentic and fresh Mexican food at a decent price. Friendly staff and conveniently located in a shopping center with plenty of parking. Music is at a pleasant level where you can enjoy your conversations. The restaurant has plenty of seating two sections smaller tables to bigger ones for large parties, very accommodating. Definitely will be returning when in area.

Do they sell tamales by the dozen that I can take home and steam myself?

    No they don't

Does the restaurant sell alcohol togo?

In the past we have ordered their awesome sangria to go. Not sure if that was just a covid thing or not.

    Does this restaurant offer catering?

For as long as I've been going there I've never heard of them doing catering. Talk to Ramon. He's the owner's son. He's really a nice guy. He may be able to answer that for you better.

    Are the tacos gluten free?

    Yes

Ordered food delivery from Taqueria Las Vegas and came away pretty underwhelmed. The food itself…read morewas just ok at best. What I had: - California burrito (choice of al pastor) - Jumbo burrito (choice of carne asada) - extra salsa (paid add-on) Both burritos were just okay at best. The California burrito and the jumbo both had a pretty disappointing meat-to-filling ratio, which is a letdown when that's supposed to be the star of the burrito. The Al Pastor in my burrito was not great either, the chew was somewhat soft and many pieces kind of 'floss-like', Definitely not the usual texture or mouth feel I normally get with al pastor meats in burritos. The fries were really just ok, not overly soggy but not crispy for sure. California burritos are my favorite item to order at burrito spots and Taqueria Las Vegas's was just ok at best IMO. On top of that, both burritos were noticeably oily like you could literally see the oil and meat juice soaking through the wrapper before we even opened the bag. Not a great sign, and not a great eating experience either. We also paid extra for a salsa and only got one in the bag- which by the way, I couldn't really tell if the salsa was the same as the pico de gallo red one that came with the chips, or actual burrito/taco salsa verde. That raised a bigger question for us: are red and green salsas not normally included with the burritos here? If not, that's a value problem on top of the food issues, since most taquerias just toss those in standard.

We ordered through DoorDash for pickup, and everything was ready right at the time requested. I even received a notification when the order was ready, which made pickup easy. One thing to note is that the restaurant is tucked away in the back of the plaza. The arrow on the sign in the front actually threw us off, and we ended up walking all around the building, past the pizza place and around the corner before finding it. It's located across from Star Aquatics and Fitness. When we walked in, there was a designated ordering area near the entrance. A couple was already being helped, but another employee quickly came over to assist us. I told her we were picking up a DoorDash order, and after asking for my name, she also asked how much salsa we wanted and generously gave us two containers of each variety. For food, I ordered the appetizer flautas and a birria taco. The flautas came with a salad-like accompaniment. The two flautas were cut in half and were smaller than I expected, but they were tasty and nicely prepared. The birria taco was packed with meat, which I appreciated, although I was hoping the meat would be a little juicier. The hot sauces were excellent, though, and definitely elevated the taco. The ladies seemed to enjoy their food as well, and there weren't any complaints from the group. It's always nice when everyone can find something they like. Overall, it was a good experience, and I'm glad we gave this place a try. Next time I'd love to come back and try the nachos or some of their other menu items.
