We were in Milpitas neighborhood and found this highly rated Mexican restaurant. We walked in without reservation on a Friday night and it was busy but not so busy to get a table right away. The paintings and lighting in the restaurant were very warm and welcoming! We ordered drinks and entrees in 5-7 minutes of seating and service was quick. We had chips and salsa served. We were served salad with thousand island dressing which was complimentary with the main entrees. Salad was not very fresh and dressing was very sweet and not tasty. I would skip it. Fajitas were good, my son enjoyed it a lot. It had lots of flavor and would reorder. Chicken Mole was good but the chicken was little chewy Chicken enchilada was my husbands favorite Lastly we had a slice of Tres Leches for the table which kids gobbled but for me it was very sweet and less moist. Overall we had a great evening!!
Had a really great experience at Casa Azteca ! The food was fresh, flavorful, and tasted authentic everything came out hot and well prepared. You can tell they put care into their dishes, and the portions were satisfying too. The service was friendly and attentive without being overwhelming, and the overall atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed, making it a nice spot to sit and enjoy your meal. Whether you're going with family or just stopping by for a casual bite, it's definitely a place I'd recommend. I'll for sure be coming back to try more from the menu.
It's been awhile since our last visit here. It was nice to see the manager, Harry. Our server was Gustavo, who is our favorite. It was nice catching up with both of them. We were served cold water and chips and salsa right away. Gustavo took our order. We ordered their casa special margarita grande. It was huge and perfect for sharing and very tasty. They don't skimp on the alcohol either. I ordered the Chapala combo which is a taco and enchilada plate with beans and rice. I chose beef for the taco and chicken for the enchilada. Both were seasoned very well and were delicious. My husband got the shrimp and chicken fajitas with all the fixings. He loved it. Both our meals came with a side salad. We both chose the pepper corn ranch dressing. Our food came out quickly and ever this was made perfectly. You could hear the fajitas sizzling. The potions of our food were hefty. Service here was awesome as usual. Thank you to Casa Azteca for a great lunch. We look forward to seeing you again soon!!
I am so disgusted. This was always a family favorite. Not anymore! I ordered a side salad, when they brought it out I go to grab my fork to eat and there was a disgusting roach on top of my salad!!!!!! I
casa azteca had great food and good portions. I like that they served a salsa that wasn't spicy. Their drinks are huge portion also. Their service was good and patient with us since we couldn't make up our mind on what we wanted? And the ambience had plenty of seating
Food & Ambiance: we randomly found this place and surprised by interior decoration. It's very homey and also colorful. The food tasted GREAT. We were really full so we planned to bring the loaded fries home but it was so good that we kept reaching for it. The tacos I ordered with steak, shrimp/ fish and chicken, amazing! They have some different types of burritos and the one we got is surprisingly filling and refreshing! Service: all of them are so warm and welcoming. Very helpful whenever we raised our hand for water or boxes. Would definitely want to come again!
OMG amazing!! Came in with a big group of 8 people and our server, Ruth, was a SUPERSTAR She was amazing with handling our big party, and was a total pleasure to be with! Service aside, the food was super yummy. I have chicken enchiladas verde and churros for dessert. Our table also got margarita pitchers, and the reviews were RIGHT. The best ever, the tequila they use is really good quality. Overall such a fun night with my group, 10/10 would do it again!
As a long time patron of Casa Azteca, we had to go and celebrate their 45 Year Anniversary. The restaurant was full and decorated festively. The staff greeted us warmly with big smiles and sat us right away. The special 1980 menu had awesome prices, which we took advantage of. The one of the owners, Hari, stopped by our table and thanked us for our support of the restaurant. We appreciate feeling like family in this family-owned restaurant. Wishing them many more years of good food and service.
Thanks to our friends, we visited this amazing restaurant. My son was amazed with the name and kept thinking about the colonial era. He enjoyed the wall paintings. I would say, we all did as well. Beautiful!!!! Let's get to food. I ordered shrimp fajitas which was delicious and generous portion. The refried beans and tortillas were okay. For the first time, my daughter ordered Mexican pizza. Not sure, if she'll ever order again. And to my surprise they had chicken wings on the menu. It's a Mexican restaurant. My son ended up getting chicken wings but it had no Mexican flavors. My husband ordered pork fajitas however he found it dry. Customer service was great. Yesterday was National Margarita Day. We did celebrate by ordering house Margarita's which delicious. Totally recommending the margarita. And try the guacamole dip. You will love the crunchy chips. Overall, awesome experience.
My boyfriend took me here for dinner on a Friday night. It was my first time here but he's familiar with it. I guess this place has been around for a long time because he used to frequent it in high school. When we walked in, it was crowded at all. We were greeted and sat right away. He said, just watch this place is going to get packed. By the time we got our food, it did just that. Service was great! Food was great! Ambiance was great! I wasn't in the mood for a cocktail but I saw a few being delivered to tables that looks delicious. Warning, the salsa is spicy! Now I love me some spice but I wasn't expecting it to hit like that. The flavor was amazing though so I couldn't stop dipping. Some days I can handled more spice than others...this must have been one of those other days. We ordered artichoke dip for an appetizer, modelo for the boyfriend, chile verde, and combo plate of one cheese enchilada and one chili relleno. All the food had great flavor!

The service here is good and the workers are friendly. They would always check in on us. There are plenty of seats here but the parking is lot is kind of small. This place has a classic aesthetic to it. I loved how the chips were hot and fresh. They were pretty addicting with the salsa. The tortilla soup was tasty and hot. The Rancheras Enchilada was delicious and flavorful. Definitely would come back here again.

My party was seated right away on a Friday evening. Loved the complimentary chips and salsa. Tortilla chips were nice and warm. Ordered the enchiladas suizas (1 beef, 1 chicken). Beef was alright and on the drier/tougher end, but chicken enchilada was great! Sauce was flavorful and I enjoyed the rice and beans on the side. The menu said the plates come with a side salad but none of us got the side salads for our 3 enchilada plates. Not a huge deal at all though. Service was wonderful. They were so friendly and quick in clearing the table, refilling waters, checking in frequently, and bringing out the food/drinks. The vibes in here are pretty nice too, good spot to catch up and dine at. Would come back! read more

After reading so many positive reviews, we came here to try the food. First, the decor and ambiance. The restaurant is classically Mexican, with framed paintings of Aztecs, faux adobe walls, and some lovely chandeliers. The seats could use some fresh stuffing, but overall the interior was a delight. The chips and salsa were a delight. The chips had something extra, maybe a touch of lime. I ordered a Cadillac margarita and the husband ordered a bourbon smash. He enjoyed his a great deal. Mine was, sadly, mediocre. I think they used an off the shelf mix and adding good tequila to a poor mix will mix make a good drink. I requested since fresh lime and that helped. I think I will order off the specialty cocktail menu next time. I explained I needed Gluten Free and Dairy Free and Dairy Free and our waitress confirmed my choice (steak ala Mexicana) me that criteria. The husband had shrimp al mojo de ajo. We both enjoyed our choices a great deal. The portions were generous and there is plenty to take home. The service was solid and so was the service ambiance. The staff seemed happy, occasional laughter floated thru the air, and both we and other customers near us were well cared for. Overall? We had a good evening and intend to eat there again. read more

Finally was able to dine at this place that I kept passing by. Heard it from a couple people to try this place and they have year after year winning award for best restaurant. Quaint restaurant near the crossroads of Calaveras and Abel Street. It has been there for years and preserved their culture with paintings and other decorations. A small bar that welcomes people to relax from a hard day at work. Prepare to be served in large portions. I couldn't finish my steak fajita. Chips and salsa are bottomless. Waiter checks on us and refills it for us and our drinks. Great customer service. They have a lot to choose from on the menu. Come in hungry and great place for groups. read more

Our favorite Mexican restaurant closed several years ago and we've been on a hunt to find something similar ever since. Yelp suggested Casa Azteca so we thought we'd give them a try. It's a little out of our way coming from Campbell but we all agreed it was worth it. Located is a strip mall in Milpitas, Casa Azteca has made this its home for over 40 years! It's as old school as it gets and exactly what we're were looking for. The decor is classic old school Mexican with dark chunky heavy wood furniture, heavy rod iron chandlers with amber glass and murals on the walls. I loved it!!! Customer service was EXCEPTIONAL! From the moment we walked in until the moment we left, we were taken care of. Just outstanding. Now let's talk about the food! Here's what we had: Complementary chips and salsa . Many reviews said they didn't care for the salsa. It's got a little kick to it and isn't your typical salsa but it was still tasty and the chips were warm. CASA AZTECA MARGARITA - we got a pitcher of this and it was probably one of the best margaritas I've had. No acidic after taste just super refreshing and just enough tequila to make the cost completely worth it. GUACAMOLE - this was just okay in my opinion. I added some salsa to it and that kinda helped. Don't get me wrong, there wasn't anything wrong with it, just wasn't memorable. CHILI COLORADO - my Dad loved this. The meat was so tender and flavorful and served with beans, rice and warm tortillas. COMBO PLATE - my brother got the chicken enchilada and beef taco. This also comes with beans and rice. He cleaned his plate! CHICKEN ENCHILADA PLATE - the chicken was so tender and juicy!! Just yum!! The rice and beans were also delicious. Prices aren't cheep but the quality of the food is worth it. Everything is made from scratch and you can totally tell. Over all we thought Casa Azteca was really good and we'll definitely be back with my mom and my daughters fam. Yummy!! read more
We came by on Tuesday after work around 7pm and were seated within 5-10 minutes. We ordered combination plates (chicken enchilada and beef tamale with rice and beans) and I also ordered a Paloma. They serve chips and salsa for the table and did come by to refill our chips and salsa. The menu offers a lot of options, so we took some time to decide since it's a big menu. My Paloma was pretty good and the food came on a hefty plate. The portion sizes are pretty big (I'm not complaining) and we also ordered a chicken burrito to-go for lunch the next day. The burrito was veryy big and packed. This place is pretty casual inside so it's makes for a good lunch or weeknight dinner spot. read more
Lunch'd here with my girl on a beautiful Wednesday afternoon. The restaurant is dim during the day but that's okay -- it's part of the ambiance. This restaurant has been around for decades in Milpitas (at least 40 years?) and has a legacy for whipping up Mexican cuisine classics. I ordered the Tradicionales Enchiladas ($20.00) which is described on the menu as "two corn tortillas filled with your choice of Beef, Chicken, Cheese, or Grilled Veggies covered with a mild red chili sauce and cheese. Served with Spanish rice and refried beans. My girl ordered their Street Tacos (Set Of 3) ($12.00) which is described on the menu as "Choice of Grilled Chicken, Carne Asada, Carnitas, or Fish. Served with cilantro, onion, lime wedges, and salsa verde." Along with the Pico De Gallo and complimentary chips and salsa -- our server also shared his secret house hot sauce made out of habanero peppers. That sauce is not made for the weak but was such an excellent addition that topped off my rice and enchiladas. Service was fantastic. Loved the humor of our server and enjoy his witty comments -- it's so important to have fun! Would definitely recommend this locally owned small business to all near and far. read more

31 years of marriage so I had to take back to casa this is where we had a first of many dates. And after 31 years there is still an original worker, we love this place. Food is great and the drinks were strong.... The service was also good, cannot wait to come back. read more
