Hidden hole in the wall taqueria! Items like their tortilla and salsa are all made in house with good quality fresh ingredients. Their meals are so comforting! I love spicy food and their salsa has a fantastic kick and very tasty. My favorite item on the menu is their Sope. I very much enjoy that crispy crust with soft hor masa dough topped with veggies and their spicy salsa The cook time may take a while. Be mentally prepared for that. I recommend you order way ahead of time if you order togo. Support your local business!

Just tried Los Jefes Taqueria and it absolutely lived up to its 4.5 star rating. We instantly became fans. The food presentation looked fresh and vibrant, oh! and everything we've tried so far has been packed with flavor. This was actually our second visit after trying it for the first time last week, and it definitely earned a repeat trip so we could explore more of the menu. So far, our favorites: the quesabirrias are a must. The tostadas and carne asada fries are loaded and seriously satisfying, so be ready for leftovers. I've also had both the super burrito and the California super burrito, yes fries inside, and they're both massive. They offer a great variety of sauces, with our go tos being the salsa verde, salsa roja, and an unlabeled one that reminded me of La Vic's orange sauce, perfect with the burritos. The atmosphere is modern and welcoming, with big TVs at the bar for sports fans, and the staff is incredibly friendly. Safe to say this spot has earned a place on our Milpitas favorites list. We will definitely be back.

Little kids like their burrito. They just opened for the day. The burrito came out hot. I had the breakfast burrito with sausage (difference is an egg). One breakfast burrito asada. One regular burrito with carne asada. Three thumbs up. Soft tortilla. You can eat it with dentures and it does not stick to your teeth. Some tortilla strangely likes to stick. I had them cut the burrito in half. Easier to eat. Their chips were thick. Their salsa was great. Came here because all the great reviews. Plenty of parking. Clean bathroom. Help yourself to water. Order, pay, and find a seat.

Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Atmosphere: 4/5 Casual, fun atmosphere. The metal chairs at the higher tables are super cold though so wear layers LOL Food is also yummy and not pricey at all, I've gotten: - super taco with barbacoa no lettuce: I recommend! - veggie taco no lettuce: I also recommend though it's less flavorful with no meat imo - super chile relleno burrito sour cream on the side: yummy! There's a good distribution of all the ingredients and sour cream on the side is enough for the whole burrito. Cooked thoroughly and not too salty but still really savory - super chicken mole burrito: sometimes overly salty, sometimes not, very flavorful - super california burrito: yummy but once I took it to go and it had a bunch of watery sauce I guess? and dripped all over my clothes so I recommend eating it over a table The limes the tacos come with have plenty of juice unlike some places that give you tiny or really dry limes. The service is helpful, when I asked for sour cream on the side for one burrito but didn't for the other (I didn't realize chile relleno super burrito otherwise also has sour cream included inside) they asked if I wanted sour cream on the side for the second burrito. They also double checked that cheese was okay to include in both burritos, which is really attentive! The complementary chips and salsa is decent, the salsa is quite spicy with a bit of sweetness to it which I like included in most spices. Bathroom here is clean and parking is plentiful. Prices are soo good for both the burritos and tacos which I super appreciate! I highly recommend this place

Good Mexican food for this area. Can't go wrong with any of the tacos since they use hand pressed tortilla. The breaded fish tacos are really good. I've also tried tripas (extra crispy), asada, lengua, and pastor. The only thing is they cut their meat into really big chunks so sometimes it's hard eat because you get a big piece and all the filling comes out. They do super tacos with sour cream, cheese, cabbage, pico, and beans. They also offer hard shell tortilla for the tacos as well. I would stay away from the burritos since the meat is cut up into large chunks so it's really hard to eat in burrito form. They also have a sweet chipotle salsa and and a spicy habanero sauce (not typical sj orange sauce) You order at the counter then get a table. Free chips and salsa while you wait. We came an hour before closing once and the food came out super slow. Other than that the servers and owner are really nice.

Theres plenty of parking. The service here is really good. There was a decent amount of seating. The workers are friendly and attentive. You order at the cashier and then they serve you once the food is ready. The tortillas were fresh and hot. They seemed handmade as well. The sauces they provided went well with the tacos. The horchata was refreshing and tasty. The meats were solid. This place is a hidden gem and would definitely come back.

My daughter took me to Los Jefes for lunch today and it hit the spot so well. I ordered the two taco plate. (Chicken) and my daughter ordered a Carne Asada super burrito. Great taste and very satisfying. The corn tortillas for my tacos were homemade and filled with so much delicious chicken, onions, and cilantro. It was so delicious! My daughter could not stop raving about her super burrito and also the salsa with the chips as well as all the many choices of chile sauces. I definitely recommend this place if you love authentic Mexican food. .

This is such a cute shop in a sleepy plaza! Go check it out. I came here on a Friday for lunch and the food was great! Here's what I got: Regular carne asada + al pastor: 9/10 flavorful and cooked well. The tortilla is perfect, it's soft and a little thicker Flautas plate: 8/10 crispy and well flavored Lots of parking!

Omg, I think I just found my new go-to taqueria! It was a Sunday afternoon, and I was craving something refreshing yet hearty. Los Jefes looked authentic and delicious from the pictures I had seen, so I decided to give it a try. And wow! My veggie burrito was absolutely delicious! The burritos I've previously gotten in Milpitas were alright but underwhelming. Los Jefes, however, really knocked it out of the park. The burritos was HUGE! The tortilla was perfectly soft and not too thick. The burrito had a generous helping of lettuce, tomato, avocado, and cilantro. The rice in the burrito was cooked perfectly, and the refried beans were what really blew me away. So creamy and well-seasoned! I'm not sure what the vibe of the taqueria or the service is like, but just based on my experience with the food itself, I'd have to imagine that the folks running the place are awesome!

Had the fish taco and my partner got a couple of the street tacos; all really good. The tortillas tasted super fresh and made everything even better. You order at the counter, and it's located in a pretty quiet plaza, which makes the whole spot feel low-key and relaxed. Perfect for a casual, easy bite without the crowds.

It is a nice setting and the food is actually pretty good, the chips and sauce are fresh and we had shrimp taco and the shrimp is fresh and crunchy. We also had a Carnita taco and a bean tostada and great with different salsa they provided

Came here randomly to try dining in different Mexican Restaurants? This appeared to be a typical family run place of a fair size and small stature. So I ordered a fish taco and Green Sauce Beef Enchiladas. Quality wise it's great, the cooking took a bit of time but it can be forgiven for high quality foods. My only feedback is the fish taco is a life small for its price. All in all, a nice place to fetch some food fashioned Mexican food.

Came in for lunch on a Sunday and it was pretty quiet. It's open seating and you just walk up to order. I ordered 3 tacos: lengua, cabeza, and al pastor. The lengua was ok-- it was sitting in a lot of broth so it was messy to eat. The meat was super tender but could've used more seasoning. The cabeza on the other hand was AMAZING. It was well seasoned, flavorful, and tender. 1000/10 would get this again. Al pastor was also good but the cabeza just blew me away. The handmade tortillas were a bit too thick for my preference and I think they could've been toasted more -- my tacos sogged up and were falling apart. But other than that ... great tacos. The salsa verde was *CHEFS KISS* and I wanted to drench the entire plate with it. Also love that they do complimentary chips, I feel like that's slowly going away these days.. but. Come try the tacos here, this business deserves more love.

Ask the Community - Los Jefes Taqueria

Are the flautas wrapped with corn tortillas (aka taquitos) or flour tortillas?

They are wrapped with corn tortillas filled with plenty tender chicken and potatoes. Super crunchy, yum! I have to say they are one of the best taquitos I've had that weren't made in my mom's kitchen.

What streets are they in between? Or what other business are near by so I get an idea of area while on park Victoria drive? Are the flautas made with corn tortillas (aka taquitos) or flour tortillas?

    Right by Dunkin Donuts

Are there any dishes without meat?

Yep! They have chili relleno, bean & cheese burritos, veggie tacos, nachos - all vegetarian options.

I…read morewent with some family and everyone missed the turn on right and had to U turn and try again just FYI Depending on when you go parking can be difficult, if it is packed I would recommend parking the street over and walking. Most of the food is prepared in a food truck where you line up and order. Seating is next to the sauce bar and they have first come first serve seating. Typical culture is to put the sauce directly on the tacos when you receive them. They give sauce cups if you order to go otherwise they are reluctant to give them out. Currently they are constructing a building around their seating area which is new. This implies that they are generating enough cash to turn their food truck and seating area into an actual establishment. Onto the food review! Carne Asada 7/10 Lengua 7.5/10 Carnitas 8/10 Cabeza 8.3 /10 Suadero 8.5/10 Al Pastor 8.5/10 Suadero and Pastor were top contenders with the most flavor depth. Personally I liked the cabeza as it was very soft, but the flavor can't compare to the suadero. The carne asada lacked flavor in my opinion and was the least tasty out of the meats we tried. Carnitas had that great crunch you're looking for in a taco as it is seared excellently. Lengua was flavorful and super soft just like the cabeza which indicates that they were both braised to perfection. All choices are very solid albeit be prepared for a very greasy meal. The star of the show is their avocado salsa! They offered 6 other sauces in their sauce bar but the avocado salsa was superb compared to the others. This was the only option that had me coming back to sauce bar throughout my meal. They also offered pickled carrots, jalapeños, and onions at their sauce bar to help balance the flavors. Finally the best JD big back tip is to get the large strawberry horchata! It was so good we finished ours before even taking a picture of it! The flavor profile on that beverage is superb, imagine a creamy strawberry yakult that is the perfect option to balance greasy tacos. This is a hidden gem item as their strawberry horchata is significantly better than other restaurants version of it. They also offer other flavored horchata but the strawberry remains top tier.

The marinade is perfect and the meat is tender. I've never tried their burritos, only because I can't get enough of their tacos which is crazy because I'm usually the opposite. But Tres Reyes is just that good. I love how they have a dedicated dining area that is always clean. I've never had trouble finding a seat either. The dining area has a full salsa bar with all myriad sauces. They even have picked red onions, jalapeños, and carrots. So good with tacos. Finally, the selection of aguas frescas they have is insane. They have like 8 different flavors if I'm not mistaken. My absolute favorite is the melon/cantaloupe drink. It's so sweet and refreshing. You can definitely taste the fresh melon. So by all means, visit Tres Reyes. Just not too much cuz it's mine!!! ;)
