We also found a parking space close-by, which was awesome. My wife wanted to try something new, so she ordered the Camarones Rancheros with a side salad, rice and beans. Our son ordered a large Combination #13 (Chicken Tostada, Chicken Taco, rice & beans. I had a large Combination #8 (Chicken Taco & Chicken Enchilada with rice and beans. We also always enjoy their tortilla chips and their two salsas. Our son finished his meal, but my wife and I weren't able to, so we took our leftovers home to enjoy later. The service is always courteous and friendly. The restaurant is a family owned business and they are very welcoming. The vibe is very chill.

This time, I came with my husband, who is not Mexican, and I noticed that our server seemed to overlook him unless he was actively placing an order. The most surprising moment was when she removed his plate before he had finished eating. That really caught me off guard and left us feeling awkward. I hope this was an isolated incident because the food has always been enjoyable.

So I had to borrow a photo my mother-in-law took of her meal and one from a friend who shared hers. Both said their food was delicious! My hubby and I each had a birria taco, and they were so flavorful. He also tried the lengua taco and said it was incredibly tender. I had the tripas taco, and it was one of the best tripas I've had. So crispy yet tender, and seasoned perfectly! And if you see menudo on the weekend, try it! It's my favorite thing on the menu. I also love that they still have their open nachos bar. The staff is always so friendly and welcoming, too. Beyond the great food, Taqueria Las Vegas is truly a Milpitas gem. They consistently support our local programs and give back to the community. It's a pretty small place what seems to have been a Mexican night club. Since this place was a ma and pop joint I was surprised that they took credit, which is a major plus! I really dislike places that are cash only. They have free FILTERED water which is another plus because most places just give you water straight from the tap. They had all kinds of salsas for your choosing and complimentary chips, another plus! I ordered the taco plate, which came with two tacos, beans and rice...all for only five bucks and some change. It came with a grilled pepper and two grilled green onion stocks...didn't really like that garnish. As for the taste, it was alright. Nothing to write home about. It was kind of plain. The beans needed something else because it just tasted like it was out of the can and the rice could have had more flavor as well. The tacos looked like they were going to be packed with flavor, but again it was very bland. my daughter left her jacket in the Mi Ranchito bathroom. Later I returned to get it and I was unjustly accused of breaking their toilet and the guy there said he threw my daughter's jacket away!! Furious, I went home and then returned with my daughter and she ended up finding the jacket in their storage room. We will never give them our business again! read more

I usually prefer avocado because it gives the burrito the bit of creaminess to bring everything together, but there were only two or three thin slices in the order. Also skip the horchata.
