We came from Las Vegas and stopped by at this ihop and everything was great! The food was really good at came fast. Unique our server had great customer service and she is a great server. I used to love this ihop, it's my local one. But when I came in with my friends today service was below average and almost rude. Not directly but the people here didn't respect me and my friends at all. We were polite and we were quiet going in and sitting down but for some reason they made it seem like they went to everyone in the restaurant but us. Ordering food took 15 mins and our food took forever. Don't go here unless you're a senior citizen or you have kids , not if ur just going with ur friends. Shameful. read more

La Mirada, CA 90638 1st time at this Ihop location which is pretty small. I love the shopping center that it is located in. The food is good in taste an the service is decent enough in quality. My 2 year old picky eater loves the scrambled eggs an fruit bowl. My fav. Plate Is definately the chicken&waffles. read more

At all of the IHOP's I've gone to this has been the best one, It gives off a real "homey" feel to it, not manufactured like all the other branches out there. Ordered from here for delivery two nights ago. Order came incorrect and I called to complain. I asked to speak to the manager to ask why the hell her cooks are not looking at my order correctly and why the hell there is not someone inspecting these orders before they go out. Turns out, there was no manager on duty and would not answer the phone either. The lady who answered who said her name was Ana was very apologetic about the inconvenience and she offered to remake the order and have it delivered again. She did in fact do so and order came perfect. Please, make this girl the manager there as clearly the other manager doesn't care about running a busy restaurant. Why there would not be a manager on duty ever is beyond me. Had it not been for Ana, I would have given this rating a 1 star, 0 if it was possible. She's the only reason I'm giving this place a 3 star. read more

Stopped here for a quick bite before heading to La Mirada Theatre. Just wanted to reiterate what other yelpers have mentioned about this IHOP----SMALLEST location I have ever eaten at. Looks like it could hold only about 35 customers at most. The service is attentive. Food seems so bland. We ordered the Thursday special ***chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The mash tasted like sand. Broccoli most likely from the freezer. The meat was not too bad but gravy had NO FLAVOR. The side salad was served with bagged salad dressing. I know it's not fine dining but, at least have the dressing in a bowl. It felt like eating in a school cafeteria. Also ordered the strawberry and creme crepes. It was way too soggy. I want to give this IHOP zero stars. Before I begin, I want to say it was not so much the restaurant as the WAITRESS who totally ruined my Valentine's Day breakfast with my boyfriend. I was at school on Feb 14th , when I decided I would swing by and pick him up and take him to a late breakfast after class. The IHOP was somewhat close by, so we decided on IHOP. We walked into the restaurant and it was actually within that first minute that things went sour. There were two waiters working--- one was Oscar, the other a female named Jolette or something similar. This waitress would be the main regret for ever stepping foot in the restaurant. My boyfriend and I stood in front of the register waiting to be seated. Oscar was pretty busy busing tables and running around, Jollette was standing right there stapling receipts together. We stood in front of her for over 5 minutes with no acknowledgment of our presence whatsoever. Not a good morning, give me a moment, nothing. My boyfriend thought maybe we needed to sign our name on the clipboard?? He picked up the pen and the waitress finally looked up at us and said "Follow me" . She took us to her section, sat us down, tossed some menus and took off. She passed us up for the next 15 minutes , not asking for drinks or coffee orders . By the time she came back we were ready to order. She quickly took the breakfast order but the way she dealt with my boyfriend in particular was very short and didn't even make eye contact. The turn around for getting our food was pretty fast considering it was Valentine's Day. When she brought the food she kind of dumped it on the table the same way she did the menus and took off again. She did not come back for another 10-15 min to ask if everything was ok. It wasn't. My boyfriend didn't even get a place setting--- um how do we eat with no fork/knife? Also there was supposed to be toast, that wasn't given to him either. I started eating with my place setting cuz I was hungry. The interesting part was we saw her go up to other tables next to us and check on them but never check on us once! I tried to get her attention about the toast, she finally noticed. From her bringing the toast and place setting, to the time I REQUESTED the bill--- she did not return one more time. There were other things the meal was missing. Pancakes needed whip cream (banana pancake topping) and there wasn't a side of butter . Refills? Forget about that. Anyways, my boyfriend just thought it was odd how she would toss stuff toward him but never really place anything in front of him, or acknowledge either one of us. We left very upset and with a poor start to Valentine's Day. I regret spending a single penny here and Jolette needs to find a new line of work. read more

I have been a faithful and loyal customer as far back as I can remember, every IHOP that I have ever been to has exceeded my expectations in every way possible the staff always cordial and welcoming. But this particular restaurant has shattered that at home feeling ,never go on Tuesdays around noon especially if you're of Latin decent, I have never had the feeling of being discriminated for being Latino, as the staff was Anglo and were waiting on the Anglo customer's that arrived after us cordially and completely ignoring my group, it broke my heart to have actually experience this type of treatment. I can give IHOP five stars for their great food but will give this restaurant 5 negative stars for their ill treatment. "Do we actually have to serve them?" Is not something you'd like to hear when you're simply trying order some damn pancakes. read more

I've come here for lunch twice and breakfast more than a few times and the first thing that is painfully obvious is that the staff at IHOP is seriously overworked. I arrived for pancakes around noon and was seated by a hurried waitress and was told she would return for my order. 5 minutes.....10 minutes...15 minutes. After 15 minutes the manager, a nice old gentleman, noticed I had yet to be served so he took my drink order. I proceeded to sip my coffee and wait. And wait. Several times I considered leaving a $5 and going somewhere else to eat, but a waitress finally arrived for my order. It took over 15 minutes for my food to be ready. Everything was okay albeit over priced. (Really? $12 dollars for average coffee, pancakes, eggs and sausage?) The staff are so busy in this rather overcrowded restaurant that they often forget what the customers request. For instance, at the table next to me a lady complained that she had asked for water four times to three different servers over the past 20 minutes and had yet to be given what she asked. I don't blame the staff though. If I worked at this cramped IHOP where droves of people are coming in asking to be seated "Outside" (YES a group of older women actually wanted to be seated outside even though there is no "outside" seating) then I would often forget customer orders. However, I would recommend a different location with more seating, like the one at Norwalk. read more

Didn't introduce herself I asked her what the dinner specials were and just tosses the Lil folded menu on the table. I was like Wtf!!! wasn't very attentive!! I have been to many IHOP restaurants in my lifetime. None have really left an impression on me - it's basic diner breakfast food, difficult to either excel at or mess up. However, the service at this one was PHENOMENAL. The restaurant was very busy on a Sunday morning, but we were greeted and seated promptly. Jesus was our waiter, and he was professional, prompt, and attentive. I witnessed the manager of the restaurant going around and checking in with every table to make sure everyone had what they needed and were enjoying their food. Added bonus: the bathrooms were impeccably clean! If I wasn't just stopping by the area on vacation, I would be a regular patron of this IHOP. I love IHOP and so do my friends. We have met at this location twice now before a performance at the La Mirada theater. We will be going again soon. The staff is nice and helpful about getting us in and out as they knew we were seeing a performance. I've been to lots of IHOPs but this one is something special. Every time, I order my breakfasts, the server and the cook get it exactly right and oh so delicious. I like my eggs scrambled soft and lo and behold the eggs are actually soft and melt in your mouth. The pancakes are sweet, fresh and hot. All the breakfast meats and hash browns are perfectly cooked. The food was decent,except for the pancakes, which is the main reason for visiting I HOP. Pancakes fell apart when you tried to cut it and were gummy and doughy in the middle just like another yelper mentioned. The grill was probably too hot so they cooked too fast. When we got there ,I didn't like being pointed to my seat. I like to be taken to my seat and shown where exactly I sit. She said " go to the table, 2nd on the right". Take the time to show the customer to their seat don't point at them like a little dog. I did like the banana fosters sauce. Looks like Denny's and Norms from now on until I find a good I HOP. I feel like the very small size of this location could be a turn of to some, but honestly I love it's older and cozier layout, especially if you can get seated in the little nook. This IHOP feels more intimate and almost like a mom and pop. Just watch out for typical meal times, it does get pretty packed. read more

Love this IHOP! The servers are friendly the food is amazing. If you have a specific request they do not turn you down. When there are not too many customers they do not delay serving your food. Unlike other restaurants, this IHOP pushes out the food faster, and takes advantage of the light foot traffic. read more

Very classic diner feel outside and inside. Our server was nice, friendly, and attentive. I had a question about substituting an item in my eggs and country-fried steak, she was able to tell me that it was possible to do so and cost extra. It was well worth the extra $2.50 for some French toast than pancakes since I am not a pancake fan. The country-fried steak meal with eggs and hash browns was delicious. I also had a vanilla iced coffee which was ok. Make sure you stir the sugar that is in the bottom of the iced coffee; otherwise the drink will be too sweet towards the bottom. read more

This is the best IHOP in the area. It's not as big as others but the staff is super friendly and casual while continuing to be professional. I eat here at least once a month and service is alway quick and prompt. The tables are always clean and refills are early and often. Usually my order is delivered perfect but once or twice I've gotten undercooked pancakes and the staff has always been apologetic and offered to make a new order or even pack up an order to go if I'm already done with my meal. I went to IHOP for breakfast. Inside was clean and friendly. I order Steak Omelet and two Crepes of Strawberry. The waiter who serve me and took my order, her name is Michelle. The breakfast that I order, I couldn't finish it all and I ask Michelle if I could have two small boxes to take it home with me. Before I left I received the bills and I went to the front cashier using my debt card and I added a tip for Michelle the waitress.
