We go there frequently and usually don't have issues. However, total the meal and service was the worst. The pancakes were flat and hard, so much so you couldn't cut them with a knife. My over medium eggs were under cooked. The hash browns were greasy and under cooked. The service was horrible as well. The server brought our meal and never checked on us again. I understand that they were busy, but a simple "is everything ok" or "can I get you anything else" takes two seconds. When I went to pay the bill, the cashier asked how was everything and I told her it was horrible, she thought I was joking. She didn't even look at me when she made that assumption. I realized in a conversation with a friend after the fact that it's been 10 years since I've eaten at an IHOP, and it was back in California. But, I'd been craving pancakes and we were too lazy to drive into Denver to go to Pete's Kitchen or even Moonlight Diner near DIA. The plus: our food was decent. I can't complain about anyone's meal. I mean, it is what it is: IHOP food. My daughter got a really cute penguin balloon animal. The negative: the service was miserable at best. Our server first brought my husband the wrong drink, then brought me the wrong meal (fortunately she just grabbed the wrong plate so I didn't have to wait for it to be made) and then we sat a good 10 minutes after we were all done waiting for our checks. We also never had any refills. Lesson learned: stick with what you know and don't be lazy. Next time we'll head to one of our favorites. read more

Our visit to the Brighton IHOP set the tone for what was gonna be a day of typical, lackluster service. See, it was our 20th wedding anniversary that day, wife and I were taking the day off together. We saw on a Facebook post that it was some kind of anniversary for IHOP that day, and they were offering 56-cent short-stacks all day. We figured, whatthehell, a little cheap brekkie to get the day rolling. We went in and were seated almost immediately, not much of a turnout for 56-cent flapjacks, I guess. We were waited on by a loud, effusive gal who proclaimed herself, "THE WORLD'S BEST WAITRESS!". Ahem. We ordered the 56-cent flapjacks, and two sides of bacon to go with it, and I KNOW "THE WORLD'S BEST WAITRESS!" heard our order, because she asked if we wanted TWO pieces or FOUR. We both ordered FOUR. "THE WORLD'S BEST WAITRESS!" promptly brought out the flapjacks, they must've been lined up on the grill, but we never saw the BACON. Since we were hungry, we dug into the cakes, and waited for the bacon to arrive. Finally, when we were down to about the last two bites of pancake, we managed to flag down "THE WORLD'S BEST WAITRESS!" and ask her where our bacon was? And "THE WORLD'S BEST WAITRESS!" blithely admits she had forgotten to put the order for the bacon in, and it would just take a minute........and by then we were laughing, shaking our heads, and just telling her, forget it, "WORLD'S BEST WAITRESS!", we'll just pay for the pancakes. Bill came to like $1.35 w/ tax, I think I tipped her a buck, mostly out of pity that there is a person in the world who has the nerve to call herself: "THE WORLD'S BEST WAITRESS!" Both our server and the receptionist were extremely kind. We know it is not their fault but we were there with a 2 and 1 yr old so waiting over an hour was not an option. Came here for the first time with my family around 1:30pm on Sunday. The restaurant was empty which I thought was weird but figured it was because the Broncos were playing. Sat down right away and ordered our drinks. About 10 minutes later we ordered our meals. While waiting what has been over an hour for our food, I look around at the staff and restaurant. The restaurant is clean but the staff looks, for lack of better words, rundown. An hour and a half later, we are still waiting for our food. Mind you we only have 3 people in our party. I'll start by saying wait staff was friendly. Management could definitely use so help. So the 2 stars comes from being served a cold raw hamburger. I ordered the mega monster burger and it came out on a slider bum. Wasn't even big enough to cover a slice of the tomato. I was okay with that. I Sam tarred to eat it. After about 3 bits and all the oil dripping from the burger I took another bit and my teeth felt like a bit into a ice cream sandwich. Completely raw in the center and still partially frozen. I mentioned it to my waitress and she said she will inform the manager. I told the waitress I didn't want to pay for a uncooked and frozen hamburger. The manager only discounted $2.00 from my meal. Went back into a room to wait, the room filled shortly after me with others waiting for there online orders. One by one everyone received there orders except for me. The lady asked for my name and tells me my order is up next....2 other people get there orders. She then comes out and tells me I'm sorry your order wasn't to be ready until 11:30 yet it was 11:45. Today is a snowy day (1/2 an inch) and it looks like several people have called out as there is only 1 server for half the restaurant. I have eaten at IHops all over the country (seriously) and 99% of them were excellent. Unfortunately, this particular location leaves me "wanting". My Wife and I stopped in for breakfast - I had a bacon cheese omlett and my Wife had pancakes and sausage. - My Omlett was so overcooked that it was like eating shoe leather. I gave up after the second bite. The toast was as hard as a rock. My Wife's pancakes were okay (according to her) but cold. - It's disappointing because IHop (in general) has a fairly good reputation for decent food. Brighton, CO-The food is good, even better when the cooks aren't being worked to death, the wait staff are awesome, it is VERY busy on weekends, management is horrible!! If they got a decent manager in there who knew what they were doing, staff wouldn't be quitting and walking out in front of customers because they are so overworked, you might have a better chance of getting what you ordered, and the wait staff might be able to actually take care of their customers instead of running a relay race from table to table.
