Recently moved to Brighton and thought we would try a local ma and pa place. The service and ambiance was great. The food was not edible. $51 for a unseasoned ribeye (btw I'm a women who can make an excellent steak), mashed potatoes and gravy looked awful and my husband said they tasted just as bad. I ordered a pineapple juice which can slightly brown looking definitely not fresh. The French dip was served with American cheese and the meat was super dry and chewy. The French fries tasted freezer burn and the ketchup tasted really bad. I really wanted to like this place because it's cute and local but I just couldn't stomach the food. I left hungry and sad. If I were the owner I would definitely reconsider your chef and some small changes to improve the taste of the food.

The food was very good! My hat goes off to the ONLY waitress for the entire restaurant! Appetizer was great! Had the Amy's burger and French fries, super good and super big! Bathroom was clean. Restaurant was a little old, but still clean

Can't decide what kind of food you're in the mood for? Well, The Pepper Pod has all the fixins, so you're in luck. One of the few restaurants in town, The Pepper Pod, is fantastic for just about anything. The unassuming exterior heeds nothing to the magic that happens in the kitchen. The service was great, but the food did come out a little slower than expected for dining in at 2 o'clock. Although they have lots of different cuisines, the menu is well organized and easy to navigate. They offer pastas, burgers, seafood, sandwiches and much more. Plus, they're open for breakfast as well! I'm a sucker for a chicken teriyaki rice plate and was blown away with The Pepper Pod's version. For one, the portion was massive. Two big chicken breasts on a large bed of rice. It was heavenly and so tasty looking that the table next to us asked what I ordered. Luckily, it was even better than it looked. For just under $16, I'm not complaining. Great place to eat if you're ever in the area!

As an out of towner this place was absolutely amazing. The food was so good, the ambiance was a true country western mom and pop restaurant. The service was absolutely incredible and all of them made you feel like you're part of the family. I would definitely come back. I order Beth's Junk (cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, caramelized onions, mushrooms, banana peppers, and bacon). It was so delicious that I forgot to take pics of it.

We were seated immediately. We were brought bread and water for the whole table along with the menus, which was very simple menu that I really appreciated. This diner used to be a truckstop back in the day and now it is a little diner for strictly steaks and it was a wonderful atmosphere. Everybody was really nice, smiling and chitchatting and having a good time there was no TVs there was no music just everybody talking and having a good time the steaks were cooked to perfection as well as the baked potatoes. I have nothing bad to say about this place. It was very good. If I could give a 4.5, I would, I think that's right on the money. The drinks were nice, the food was good, and the service was great! There were some very minor things that could use improvement in the food-- but I'm being VERY critical. The server was bragging about how nice and "not tough" the octopus is, so we made sure to get that for an appetizer. But it came plated a little sloppy, and I felt it to be pretty tough (not chewy), just tough. But the steaks were a highlight! We shared the filet flight. All three were very very good. One person at our table was vegan, and they catered to her very well. Her entree of a vegan risotto was actually the most beautiful plate on the table, and had some excellent flavors! The duck fat fries earn an honorable mention. They have some sugar on them, so they're sweet-- very interesting, but delicious. All in all, I had a great time, and the service pushed it over the edge. And the food was very well done, too. I'll be back here for dinner, annually, but back for happy hour more often. Thanks & Cheers! And see you next time!

I thought we were going to a classy sit-down meal, but that was not the vibe at all. The music was at a nearly unbearable level, so everyone was shouting to be heard, and with the tables right on top of each other, all the conversations crossed. I measured the sound level and it was between 85-90 decibels. That's like having a blender on high on the middle of the table for the whole meal or dining next to train tracks as freight trains roll by. I'm not exaggerating; it was that loud. Unfortunately, for the price, the food quality is there but the atmosphere is sorely lacking. Unless you're comfortable shouting at your date for two hours, you're better off going to Del Frisco's.

The CH beet ricotta was a bit unexpected, we were picturing more of a salad style dish, so it threw us off at first, but still flavorful. The smoked salmon ended up being my personal favorite, it was perfectly seasoned and wonderfully balanced. Also, the rich butter cake was delicious! Highly recommend making a reservation, especially on weekend evenings when things get lively.

This place would be 5 stars if not for the food poisoning. We had been to Chop House once before…read moreand had a wonderful experience. I had given it 5 stars then, which I included in an overall review of the Monarch where it is located. However, with this last visit, that was not the case at all. This is an upscale, dimly lit steakhouse, and we had an amazing time trying it for our anniversary a while back. When we went to celebrate my birthday this year, it was a different story. Though service was attentive, prompt and friendly (which of course was reflected in our tip) I cannot give extra stars, as the food physically made my husband ill. He decided to have the lobster bisque, and unfortunately it immediately did not sit well with him. I tried it as well, and it tasted rancid. Being polite, he just pushed it to the side and did not say anything. Then the staff came over a few times asking about the bisque, then proceeded to comp it, which made us even more concerned. I'm a professional chef, and we do not serve anything that tastes or smells even remotely questionable, especially when it comes to seafood. He was ill for hours afterward (and into the next day). After tasting it myself, I could not stomach much more of our very expensive meal. My steak and French onion soup were fantastic in flavor, but I was not able to enjoy much of it, as I also had a nasty taste from the bisque and felt nauseous just from the smell alone. They did bring me a free birthday dessert, which I appreciate. However, I did not get to choose what I was eating. They brought out pumpkin cheesecake. To give credit- I'm sure it was chosen because it's a popular dish, but I personally do not like pumpkin at all. In fact, it makes me gag, frankly. I do however, love cheesecake and tried a bite to be polite, but I did not like it, let alone want it. I decided not to say anything about the dessert they chose for me, since I did not pay for it, and we were trying to get out of there due to not feeling great after the food served. I was disappointed even more at this point, as it would've been nice to at least be able to choose and enjoy my "celebration dessert", especially considering how much money we spent- even less the bisque. Not to mention how awful the experience was due to food poisoning. We will not be back, which is unfortunate considering how great our first experience was. This experience was awful enough to deter us from further visits....
