Lobster bisque, seasonal salad and French onion soup
    Sydney E.

This place would be 5 stars if not for the food poisoning. We had been to Chop House once before and had a wonderful experience. I had given it 5 stars then, which I included in an overall review of the Monarch where it is located. However, with this last visit, that was not the case at all. This is an upscale, dimly lit steakhouse, and we had an amazing time trying it for our anniversary a while back. When we went to celebrate my birthday this year, it was a different story. Though service was attentive, prompt and friendly (which of course was reflected in our tip) I cannot give extra stars, as the food physically made my husband ill. He decided to have the lobster bisque, and unfortunately it immediately did not sit well with him. I tried it as well, and it tasted rancid. Being polite, he just pushed it to the side and did not say anything. Then the staff came over a few times asking about the bisque, then proceeded to comp it, which made us even more concerned. I'm a professional chef, and we do not serve anything that tastes or smells even remotely questionable, especially when it comes to seafood. He was ill for hours afterward (and into the next day). After tasting it myself, I could not stomach much more of our very expensive meal. My steak and French onion soup were fantastic in flavor, but I was not able to enjoy much of it, as I also had a nasty taste from the bisque and felt nauseous just from the smell alone. They did bring me a free birthday dessert, which I appreciate. However, I did not get to choose what I was eating. They brought out pumpkin cheesecake. To give credit- I'm sure it was chosen because it's a popular dish, but I personally do not like pumpkin at all. In fact, it makes me gag, frankly. I do however, love cheesecake and tried a bite to be polite, but I did not like it, let alone want it. I decided not to say anything about the dessert they chose for me, since I did not pay for it, and we were trying to get out of there due to not feeling great after the food served. I was disappointed even more at this point, as it would've been nice to at least be able to choose and enjoy my "celebration dessert", especially considering how much money we spent- even less the bisque. Not to mention how awful the experience was due to food poisoning. We will not be back, which is unfortunate considering how great our first experience was. This experience was awful enough to deter us from further visits....

Just go - your bank account will take a hit - especially after the gambling we also did downstairs :) This place was worth it (I can't say the same about some other "fancy" steakhouses on the front range) Anniversary dinner and we made sure to mention it a few times. Sure glad we did. Free champagne toast, lava cake were very nice touches. Started off with a full overview of the lit up menu, a hot lemon towel and amuse-bouche which I'm always a big fan of! Espresso martini was yummy per usual Grilled octopus = yummy maybe slightly too charred but still good. Lobster Mac = just upgrade to the lobster. So worth it. HUGE CHUNKS Bone-in Ribeye = just yum 8oz Filet = just yum Both steaks come with whipped potatoes and some sauced mushrooms on the side. We were way too full for the lava cake, free cookies and free chocolate banana bread but devoured them later happily. So bougie and amazing. Thank you Chophouse.

    Chilean sea bass

I honestly hated my whole experience. After a hike in Georgetown, I searched and found this spot with really high reviews. Once I got there, I realize it was in a casino; not my scene but whatever. The server was rude which I could have overlooked if the food was decent!! Food: I ordered Chilean sea bass. I didn't realize it was a steakhouse, but that's not excuse for poor food. I found it to be uninspiring and pretentious. The fish was sitting in this yellow sauce, possible a butter sauce, which was just salty with no depth of flavor. The texture was also off putting. After the unpleasant dinning experience, I was gifted with a stomachache that wouldn't stop hurting until I went to bed. I felt better the next day for obvious reasons. Positive note: Service was fast so I could gtf out. If you want to spend a lot of money to wreck your wallet and your guts, come to Monarch Chophouse. I personally would rather starve.

Thank you Chef Chad! The food was divine, the atmosphere was rich and the service was perfection! The Sommelier was excellent as well. Thank you for spoiling us as we celebrated our birthdays!

Impressed doesn't even cut it. My favorite by far in Blackhawk. Everything we ordered from the soup to steak and salmon to our dessert was so presentable to just delicious. Nonalcoholic drinks available too. Staff was great too. Didn't get names. Oh yea the table side gelato was my fave.

Dined at this restaurant during a girls trip to Colorado. I was blown away by the phenomenal customer service from the staff. Every person we encountered was kind, patient, and attentive. Everyone from our server to their assistants was amazing. My favorite employee interaction was with Rush, who made our Caesar salads table-side. He had a wonderful spirit and great conversation- cherry on top was that he made a delicious salad for us! I loved the bold flavors of the salad. I ordered the lamb shank while my friends ordered seafood. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy the lamb shank. The meat was incredibly tough. I would recommend cooking the meat slower for longer to improve its tenderness. However, the sides were delicious!! I got full from eating all the sides we ordered (whipped potatoes, Brussels, and Mac and cheese). I will say the Mac was just ok - I did not care for the noodle type. For dessert I ordered the crème brûlée and it was yummy! I wish I ordered the cheesecake bc my friend's tasted so good haha.

Very classy steak restaurant that lives up to its amazing reviews. Although pricey, it's worth it for sure. The waiters and staff are also very friendly and knowledgeable. My Caesar salad tasted great and my filet was cooked to perfection. Don't forget to use your casino comps at this location from monarch casino!

My boyfriend made us reservations here for my birthday. It was an overall lovely experience filled with excellent service and delicious food. The atmosphere gives off a romantic vibe for sure - think white tablecloth, candles, and roses. We started with cocktails. I think my boyfriend got one that was tequila based and I had the martini. I enjoyed my martini very much! We had the oysters and lobster crab cakes as appetizers. I enjoyed both! We both ordered filet mignon and added on the truffle mac 'n cheese, fingerling potatoes, and brussel sprouts as our sides. The filet mignon was cooked to perfection. Medium rare, just how I like it! It was a touch on the salty side in terms of seasoning, but still delicious! The sides were all quite good. My favorite was probably the truffle mac 'n cheese. It was cheesy and truffle-y and an excellent addition to the meal. The brussel sprouts had amazing flavor and the fingerling potatoes were perfectly smoky. The sauce that the potatoes sat on was also tasty. For dessert we ordered the blueberry cheesecake. It was DELISH. I could not believe that I could eat another bite after the meal, but ya know, it was my birthday and I tend to develop additional stomach space for dessert. Service was friendly and helpful! 10/10 recommend if you're dining for an occasion or if you like to spend monies on a nice fine-dining experience!

Fresh rose petals for birthday celebration.

This is the second time dining at the Monarch Chophouse and I was even more blown away this time. The food is perfection but the service is what makes it my favorite place to dine. I noted my husband's birthday when making the reservation and we had fresh rose petals on our table and a complimentary glass of champagne to start the experience. Chris was our server and he made the perfect wine suggestion and made sure everything was perfect from beginning to end. I ordered the Steak Diane again and it was amazing. I love seeing it prepared tableside. We now plan on making the drive up the hill just for the dining experience. Out of every review I've done this would be my strongest recommendation! Must dine here!

Didn't make a reservation to try this restaurant but we came since he likes steak and they also have seafood. The bar area had seats so we sat at the bar. There's also a lounge area to have appetizers at and dinner if you think you want to. Small tables though. Liz, Tyler and Tristan were out servers. They were busy but personable. I selected the Chilean sea bass and he chose the New York strip loin. We were given a small appetizer which was the chef's selection and it was delish. The small bite packed a flavorful taste. The surroundings were modern and cool. I love the vibe. The Chilean sea bass was delish. So smooth and not over cooked. The steak was soft and tender. I definitely recommend this place. Expensive but a good experience.

Date Night, Special Occasions, Birthdays... Highly Recommend! I came here for my 30th birthday with a few girlfriends. I made the reservation a day prior and I'm glad I did as it was quite full. This is the type of restaurant where you can dress up or be semi casual. The drink options were great, I had a lovely martini and my friend had a delicious mocktail. Our waiter was great, I wish I had remembered his name. He gave good suggestions and was friendly and personable. The food was amazing - some of the best food I have had in Colorado and hands down the best Bone Marrow I have had in the state. The Bison was very interesting great flavor however I am not sure the texture is for me. My favorites were the mac and cheese, brussels sprouts and bone marrow. The bread they bring to the table also hits the spot. The price is what you expect, I think we paid around 80/90 per person after tip. Very fair considering the quality of the food. I have been raving about this dinner to anyone who will listen. I am looking forward to coming back and highly recommend. Overall 5/5

When we arrived without reservations they were still able to accommodate us and sit is in a booth. The restaurant wasn't full at all though, I don't know if I would expect to call for reservations. The place was clean and romantically lit. The servers were excellent. We ordered shrimp cocktail appetizer, a New York and a Fillet. Both paired with Lemon pepper Asparagus and baked potatoes. After ordering they brought us some rolls, this is where we were taken back. These were nothing but store bought Hawaiian Sweet Rolls, and they weren't even freshly bought. We passed on them, the shrimp cocktail was amazing so we have them a pass on the rolls. When the actual meal was served we found both the asparagus and baked potatoes were under cooked. Those this isn't difficult items to cook, we are the potatoes and passed on the asparagus. The steaks were less then par and very dry. They bring a side of gravy with them but this alone wasn't enough to make up for the tough dry steak. I know I am from Wyoming and will challenge anyone to compete with our states top steak houses, but I think I wouldn't compare this to the worst of them. It's about like eating warm jerky, even then I think there is more moisture in jerky. Never again. The service is the only reason they received 3 stars the meal is less than desirable, the price is definitely not reflective of anything but the price.

And to stumble upon this chic and inconspicuous cocktail bar in the busy downtown was something I wasn't expecting and became a treat after a nice stroll through the town after dinner in my hotel room. From the moment I stepped inside, I knew I was at the place where my heart was calling for. There were two gents at the bar and one of them warmly greeted me and said I could sit anywhere I would like. I hence picked one of the bar seats. Except one table that was occupied by a couple I was the only one. I appeared to have picked the right time; I had the whole bar to myself (eventually though, several different groups of people streamed in; only a few of them sat at the bar close to me. The bar was spacious enough to comfortably accommodate a little over 10 people.) Jeremy, who greeted me upon arrival, was a super host. As soon as I explained that wine is my usual got-to, he said he could mix and match reds and whites to create a "flight" based on what I had told him as to my likings. His extensive explanations as to what sorts of reds and whites the bar offers/serves was (of course) all in his memory. His eloquent speech with no filler words truly impressed me; he sure is a wine connoisseur. What he picked for me were... -2024 Pepiere "Les Gras Moutons" (Muscadet) -Kobal "Bajta", Hazole Belo (aka Orange Wine) -Sandlands "Red Table Wine (Lodi Red Blend) With his wealth of knowledge, after giving him only a hint of what I liked, what Jeremy selected for me to sample/sip was a superb choice. All of them were world-class excellence with elegance and beauty. I carefully and slowly sipped each one little by little to truly immerse myself in the art of wine. Yes, wine is a piece of art for sure. I think I said it correctly at the beginning of this review. This is a cocktail bar with variety of spirits which Jeremy could easily concoct just about anything from gin-based one to vodka-based one to tequila-based ones to whiskey-based one to name several. For those who don't drink, their zero-proof section also has something interesting to browse and choose. Not to mention, rotating pilsner or IPA on tap to name a few from the beer section as well. If you need a little bite to eat, their (changing) food menu has a good number of New American-style plates. The bar originally opened in a different building back in 2015 (I believe). They moved to the current location in 2019. They also offer various different classes so you can expand/extend your knowledge. Save a charcuterie board for us. We're coming back.

Been coming here for awhile now. As a loyal patron of previous owner and now the new I always look…read moreforward to either bringing friends in or stopping by to grab a bottle or a glass of wine and just enjoy the friendly casual creekside atmosphere. Today should have been no exception except it was. Instead of being friendly and helpful with my easy order of 1 bottle to go, 1 glass of wine and 1 hummus plate the bar staff decided to make it her job to make my time snd $ difficult. I hate paying $100 for servers to act condescending and trite over something as easy as basic customer service. Refused to place my hummus order with my wine bottle "to go" order unless I sat down and had it ordered by another staff member. Soooo I took my single glass of wine and had to find a host member to get me a table, go sit and wait 20 minutes just to place an order of hummus. Then another 20 for it to arrive. I just wanted to pop in for a glass of wine and small plate of hummus as snack to go w the wine. Plenty of servers. No big crowds or big rush, the bar was empty and mind you the venue is very small. So not sure what the big deal was. I think owners and management need to educate the newer younger staff on REAL customer service and how to make things work for the customer not the other way around. Like why was this bartender making something so simple so difficult. Also, at the end of my visit I didn't appreciate being startled and rudely interrupted 2x by a very young waitress that is clearly new and obviously has zero customer service skills or experience serving people. Would have been 1 Star today for Creekside if it weren't for Ryker. He should be the example and litmus for servers.

The winery is on one end of Main Street, and has patio seating (there was live music outside), as well as an interior tasting room. Right off the bat, we didn't think either of the people working were overly friendly, and didn't really make us feel overly welcome. We decided to do two flights of red wine - kind of insane to me that a flight was $40, thank god we had a 2 for 1 discount. The other people in my party also said they'd give the experience a 2 or 3 stars - price was unbelievably expensive (especially when you can go down the street at Carboy and do a flight for half the price). No one was impressed by the service either - for a flight, I'd expect a little more background and explanation of the wines, but the person came and dropped off beakers of all the wine with a quick explanation then left it up to us to pour our own wines. The wines themselves were nothing spectacular either, two from Colorado and two from California grapes (I think) - we liked the blend but that was about it. Unfortunately would not recommend this place to others or come back.
