Just can't seem to get good service anywhere anymore. Stood there for 5 minutes waiting for the front counter person, while being stared at by a grill member watching TV. Made our order and went to sit but couldn't find a clean table. The food was mostly full of grease and we both had unhappy stomachs after. Lots changed since the new company bought them awhile back. Ordering online was super easy and the food was ready as soon as we got there. I will say that what I got for my money was lot of disappointment. I ordered the black bean version of the Truffle Mushroom Swiss burger and it looks so sad it almost looks staged. How are you going to put like 5 mushroom slices. Overall the staff was friendly and the place was clean but the food was sub par at best. Save your money and go somewhere else. UPDATE - Smashburger reached out to me and asked that I send them more details about what happened. I did and got no response at all. "Smash Burger" was by far the best burger around...maybe 10 years ago. Last night will be my last visit to any Smash Burger. Tried to place an order on line but web site wasn't working correctly. Called and placed order for Bacon BBQ single patty Smash Burger. I was told 15-20 minutes to pick up-arrived 15 minutes after hanging up. Order was ready. Checking order in car verified there was a wrapped burger and fries. French Fries were cold. That was ok can always warm them up in the microwave. The picture below is what I received. Gross best describes this burger-dried out and unappealing. This location is 5 miles from my home-not close- and I was too tired to drive back. McDonalds does a better job and they are terrible. Smashburger has been a favorite burger of mine since they first opened up. But this was an extremely disappointing meal. I haven't been to this particular location for a while and I won't be back soon. I ordered the Truffle Mushroom Swiss burger. I got it home and it was squished flat and looked like it had nothing on it except meat and cheese. It was completely smashed, not just the meat. It tasted dry and chewy and the side of haystack onions was pushed down into the box and only about half full. The reason I gave them two stars was because there was a group of people waiting in line and they had their masks down and were crowding the people waiting in front of them. The manager came out and told them to pull their masks up over their noses and they were pissed about it and one person refused. The manager strongly reiterated that she needed to fix her mask or she would be asked to leave. The woman snorted and pulled her mask up. I thanked the manager quietly. read more

All 3 of my burgers were dry and overcooked. Freaking hockey pucks! I've had them delivered before without a problem. The other issue is, when trying to supply feedback, the delivery app (rhymes with tuber) doesn't let you mark an issue with the order for 30 mins after delivery. I get the pandemic and all, but the food at least has to be cooked properly. There is no excuse for lack of quality, hey if it took more time to complete the order, or delivery, that's understandable. Ordered 11 sandwiches the day before...ready and hot when I got there. Grilled chicken was a hit too.

People taking our order didn't know anything about gluten free. Had to go ask the cook questions for us multiple times after we let them know what the website said was gluten free. The floor was covered in oil. It was so slippery we all almost fell. No trash can outside. No changing table in the womens or mens bathroom. We had to take our daughter outside to change her. Then, there wasn't a trash can to put the diaper in. So, we are driving around with a poopy diaper in the car. Soap dispenser was sitting in the sink. Wasn't mounted and you had to pick it up to use it then set it back down while you washed your hands. The food was good. Everything else needs a lot of work. read more

Apparently false advertising is a thing during COVID now. My family ordered chicken sandwiches from "Birch Bird" but when the food arrived it was all in Smashburger branding and all burgers, no chicken. When I called that Smashburger, the manager said "It's a digital branding thing we're trying....." WTF!!!! One of the most disappointing falls from restaurant grace that I've ever experienced. Used to go to this location once a week. Then their consistency and quality started going downhill after Smashburger was purchased by some trash international corporate conglomerate bent on maximizing profits, rather than focusing on happy customers, happy employees, and quality food. The BBQ Bacon Cheddar used to be my favorite burger of any restaurant anywhere. They started changing fries, which was their first mistake. Then they ditched their awesome petal sauce they used to serve with their onion straws. Then I remember just getting half-assed burgers from staff, cold fries, and management being frustrated with their situation their new corporate overlords put them in. Then they redid a lot of things. Restructured the menu, and I started returning. It has been ok, but this location is ALWAYS understaffed, and management should be beyond ashamed of their poor performance here. Last time I went, their app said 15 minutes. So I drove down there. 45 minutes later I finally had burgers in my hand. Tonight we decided to order again. app said 10 minutes. Arrived at the restaurant and they said it's be at least a 20 minute wait. Further underscoring the reality that they are understaffed. Thousands of restaurant workers are laid off due to COVID and these guys can't keep a kitchen staffed. Sometimes you'll go in and the register guy is also making shakes, and running orders to tables, taking one agonizingly slow order at a time. Line stretched out the door. This has gone on for YEARS. Never used to be that way until the corpos took over. Then there's the Smashburger app and online order system. OMG, it is absolutely the worst, even with the latest update. As a software engineer, if that were what I produced for customers, I'd be ashamed of myself. Some features don't work, and sometimes it'll send you a confirmation, charge your card, then suddenly after it'll process a refund then not send the order to the store. One time about a 8 months ago the manager comped my meal because it wasn't found, and it looked as if I had paid for it. Confirmation email and all. Got home and saw the refund, and then I felt badly for being given a free meal. As I've said to managers there over and over and over and over and over and over and over again, I DO NOT WANT FREE FOOD. I want the consistent, quality burger I used to receive, circa 2008-2011, and I want to pay them for it. Tired of discounts for crap service and mediocre food. Yeah, that's right... I've received so many discounts and so much free food that I'm tired of it. I even got in good with some of the regional staff, and they were in agreement of the many issues they have as a chain, and at this specific location. NOTHING changed. I have emails from store management (Nicole) back in 2012 apologizing for poorly prepared foods, and even emails from a guy named Marco from 2018. Either they don't care, or they don't have a clue what they are doing at Smashburger to make customers happy. Step 1: Stop understaffing the restaurant Step 2: Make sure you have happy employees Step 3: Make sure management ensures quality of food from happy staff Step 4: Suddenly reviews are better, wait times are lower, and customer reviews improve. It's not that difficult a concept. P.S. When I started this review, my wife was told it'd be 20 minutes for the 10 minute wait burger order. She's still sitting there waiting for the burgers. I had my first Smashburger experience here tonight, definitely a unique experience as I had never heard of it beforehand. This location was packed, obviously an indication they do a good business. I went with the Colorado Chicken Smash, minus the mayo, and everything had a really good flavor - pretty reminiscent of a cheesesteak as far as texture went, kinda gooey with soft vs. crispy vegetables. The staff was really friendly and service was quick, even in the middle of someone ahead of me placing a huge order. There was a medium sized flat panel LCD next to the cash register that allowed you to check your order for accuracy as it was being processed, which is always a good thing. Good selection of beer and bottled juices at the front counter. It appeared that you could also order online and pick your food up. Had a dine-in session a few days later and went with the burger version, along with some awesome sweet potato fries. Coke Freestyle machines are always an added bonus. Definitely planning on going back to check out some other menu items. Good product for sure. read more

I love Smashburger but I don't love all locations equally. This particular location isn't new and by all means, isn't the cleanest. But what they lack in those areas, they make up for in customer service. Immediately, when my husband and I came up to the counter to order, we were greeted by Justin. He was very nice and helpful. Once we got our order, he even came by to check on us and see whether we needed anything. This guy deserves a raise. When there were no customers at the counter, he was cleaning up, checking in on customers and restocking napkins and such. My husband and I both, once upon a time, worked in fast food so we have a respect for the hustle we saw in Justin. Keep it up! I hope management sees this review and acknowledges him for his good work. read more

After a few visits now I can honestly say, I love this place. It can be rather hectic at lunchtime due to the lack of options in the area but the staff always delivers a great meal with a smile on their faces. I fancy the Big Baja burger with Smash fries, this is honestly a great burger. They have several others that are great but this one really trips my trigger. My only complaint is that I love an over easy egg on my burger, Smashburger will only cook their eggs over medium. I guess we all have rules we have to follow. read more

Our dinner was decent enough. However, the customer service was downright horrible! We went to grab dinner around 6:30pm. It was fairly busy. We sat next to the counter where orders were being filled. I watched in horror as Madi (it was so bad I had to ensure I looked at her name tag), brought food to the wrong table. The customer said it wasn't his order after inspecting and touching the burger, she lifted the bun with her finger and then brought it back to the warming counter and served it to the correct customer. Then she proceeds to BLOW HER NOSE and continue to handle customer's food. She didn't wash her hands. She was picking up trash from tables; returning and handling food. Uh, gross. So incredibly gross. Her constant scowl and literal stomping around the restaurant reminded me of a toddler throwing a temper tantrum. I'm not sure who was in charge at that time but good heavens. We won't be returning to this location simply because of her. She was unsanitary and her neglect could get people sick. Steer clear if you're not into snotty hands touching your food. read more

I'm known for having elite taste (hence why I'm eating at smash burger) so it isn't out of the ordinary for me to spend $9 on toppings for my $12 burger. However, i was shocked and dismayed to discover my custom order smash burger had none of the extra toppings! No avocado, no fried egg, no crispy onions, no mushrooms and NO SWEET POTATO FRIES! I raced back to smash burger distraught. Workers and management were awesome and super understanding--I'll definitely be back just cuz they were so awesome about it. Was in the mood for a better burger. This place was horrible. Customer service was awful. I had to repeatedly request ketchup and plastic ware. The girl at the counter just could not be bothered. I looked up when i heard someone sneeze and saw the cook with his mask half off. I continued to ignore and put up with it. When i got home my fries were not the garlic fries that i asked for. After the Yelp event at Smashburger in Englewood I had a hankerin, a hankerin I tell you! I needed some smash burger and smash fries and some fried pickles. I went with the Colorado burger which was awesome, my only complaint, which isn't really a complaint, is that they put about 15 too many chilis on my burger, I say this because they were little escapees that needed to be picked up and eaten on their own. The smash fries were just as awesome as I remembered, and the fried pickles, well I'm just a fried pickle fool! The staff is extra friendly and ready to accomodate in any way you ask. The place is always clean, so no complaints there, so where'd my star go? Well for one they're a little pricey.. but I think the price is worth it it's between fast food, which I didn't want and sit down restaurant so it's fair. And the rest of the star. I'm freaking confused every time I'm in there.. do I clean up after myself for not? I mean I don't bring it to my table myself so do I clean up or not.
