Holy cow that was a horrible diner. The owners were very non-chalant about seating us. We originally sat near the service door to the kitchen and heard a lot of complaining when people went in and out of the door. Had to ask to be reseated. We were not quickly attended to, never received our water in a timely manner, but we did get our coffee which was incredibly watered down and flavorless. (Granted, we got our coffee quickly.) Had two different dishes: one was their "sampler" of sorts, and another was an omelette smothered in gravy. The sampler had decent eggs - the hashbrowns were food service hashbrowns that were stale and not very crispy and chewy - typical food service grade: "acceptable". Ham and sausage were incredibly bland, bacon was just salted bacon with zero flavor. Had a waffle that disintegrated as soon as I put butter and syrup on it - completely turned to mush, had a raw consistency. The pancakes were the only decent thing on the plate, and it's clear they were Bisquick. Omelette didn't have layered meat and cheese, it was all whipped together - very very lazy. Overall, very disappointing. Cost was only thing decent about the restaurant. Lots of older people in the diner, which tells me "salty and bland". The clientelle of the restaurant usually represents how the food will be, and for hospital level service food, this was spot on. Now, I realize restaurants are struggling to survive. But if you're struggling and you simply don't care, that's a different story. Hit up Moonlight Diner off of Tower. Longer drive, but worth the trip. If you're really hungry, stop by McDonald's instead. read more

I don't go out of my way to make reviews but this was unfortunately a bad experience. I ordered a skillet that was supposed to have meat it came with no meat that I ordered. Waiter took it back and was very nice about it but when I got the food again it had the meat I ordered but the potatoes were raw like it was rushed out. So I went from no meat to raw potatoes. Food was good, we order chorizo benedict came out perfect, pancakes not so good they taste like flour with water even though they have chocolate chips in it. French toast was ok. OJ we thought was fresh squeezed my daughter was disappointed. Service was slow and I had to ask for water 4 times and had to ask for coffee refills twice. Host lady was cranky. So this cafe is under new management. The old manager employed inmates from the jail and got a tax break! So I refused to eat there! But now the new manager hates inmates! And I ate there after 20 years! So I had the French dip and it is delicious! I got the food in 5 minutes that pretty quick! The bathrooms were clean and it's a quaint place! They serve breakfast too! It's one of Brighton's hidden gems. It's a family run restaurant. They are closed on Tuesdays. They give you the child-fil-a syndrome, YOU ALWAYS CRAVE THEM THE ONE DAY THEY ARE CLOSED My family and I love to come out and have breakfast here. Food is always good! Servers are nice, fast and they take good care of you. We always get a Mexi skillet and French toast. Kids love the pancakes. Their green chili is very flavorful. I am from out of state visiting some of my Family, I have a certified Service Dog, not a support Dog, I had breakfast at Billie's Restaurant in Brighton, Colorado on 10/25/2024. When we first walked in the owner gave me a tough time about my Service Dog, an Australian Shepherd, (SD), I told her, (the owner), I would be more than glad to show her my prescription for Him, she let us in without me showing it to her. Bear, my SD, laid down out of the way stay placed without Any Problems. As other customers witnessed Him they all complimented on what a well trained Dog. By the time we left even the owner I could tell realized He was a great SD. Billie's has good food, prices were really fair so we went back next day for late breakfast, we walked in, I could see owner was not happy, I could also see the table she sat us at the day before was empty, she looked at us, another couple walked in after us she sat them immediately, another couple walked in after them, she seated them immediately, a single man walked in and was seated immediately, I got up and left, food was not good enough to be rudely ignored. Billies Cafe was my first post-COVID dine-in restaurant experience. Not knowing exactly what to expect we made our way in to not only check out what Billie's Cafe had to offer, but what the "new norm" of dine-in had in-store for us. THE EATS: Yum! Now I love a solid breakfast burrito. So naturally when I was making my selection the Billie's Breakfast Burrito was the clear winner. A 10" flour tortilla filled with scrambled eggs, hash brown (or home fries) with their signature green chili (or country gravy), and choice of added breakfast meat. Yum! The green chili was seriously so flavorful. The size was perfect too. My fellow diner opted to nosh on Billie's Country Skillet. She had plenty leftover for another small meal. THE SPACE: While it's a little dated, Billie's Cafe gives off all those comfortable retro diner feels. Think 90's Denny's but painted white. You can tell it's been a staple in the Brighton area for a while. THE SERVICE: I know it's a very strange and uncertain time for waitstaff, but the folks at Billie's handled it well. They are limiting their capacity to ensure proper social distancing can be maintained between diners. Service does seem to be slower than I would expect given the fewer amount of guests, but I'm sure there are extra measures being taken along the way. This is a solid morning diner place to go get some of your breakfast food cravings. Stopped by close to noon on a Friday and luckily it was not too busy. We order the breakfast burrito smothered in green chili sauce and the breakfast skillet with half country gravy and half green chili sauce. The skillet was solid and what you would expect from most diners. The combination of country gravy and green chili sauce works surpassingly well together. It also comes with pancakes so if you're looking for a hearty breakfast, this would be a go to. The Breakfast Burrito smothered in their homemade green chili sauce was really good and would be an awesome hangover item. Since the burrito would typically be dryer cause of the potato's, the sauces makes it way more enjoyable. If we're in the area again, we would def stop by to try some of our other favorite breakfast items. read more

Ehhh.......Service was good when we finally sat down. Definitely can see this place going out of business in the near future. Was told 15-20 min wait when there was a ton of open tables. Waited about 50-60 mins to be seated. This place can't uphold a sat-sun rush. Very little staff. Food was not to good, plain,dry and a small serving. Smothered burrito was $15 and you can't tell they use bulk ingredients with no care for flavor. Overall ambiance was dull and ran down. It's on it's down hill slope of shutting down. If you're reading this, I would rather go some where else, even if it's a more of a drive. Other option that equally priced. Would be definitely first watch. read more

Older building but clean including bathroom. clean silverware. Friendly waiter. Drinks came quick during a very busy day. We had 15 people ahead of our 6 person group and only waited 15 minutes. I ordered pancake sandwich even though I usually order something like eggs Benedict. Kid friendly table mat with games. Coffee was good and I had a raspberry ice tea. The food here is decent ... nothing to brag about .. portions are somewhat small for the typical diner breakfast and about the same price as elsewhere. Definitely better places in a Brighton to eat breakfast. Our server didn't seem to have it all together and couldn't seem to remember what table she was serving .. definitely not all there. So we're trying out new places in Brighton, and we've noticed this little place is always busy on the weekends so we wanted to try it for ourselves. We got up bright and early eager to try this new adventure. Pretty nice place nothing fancy but comfortable. They do have daily specials and am not sure if they change week to week. Our waitress was very nice and even the other waitress refilled our drinks. Prices were typical but proportions were large. Hours are from 7a.m til 2p.m Tues-Sun Closed Mondays. I would definitely recommend this little place and FYI you can order lunch for breakfast. read more

We just moved in the neighborhood and had to try this place out. It was apparent they were very busy, but we were sat after a short wait and our waitress was as attentive as possible given how short staffed and hectic the breakfast rush was. My green chile omelette was seriously immaculate and fiancé got the biscuits and gravy, which is not pictured because he got right into it before I could take a picture. I also sampled the pancakes, which I have no complaints about. Beyond the nearly $3 price for coffee and tea, and a $30 breakfast bill, I'd say this is a must stop joint for a really good meal. read more

AND I FOUND IT!!! This place is really an excellent diner. It has the customary entrance that splits two dinning areas. The place is clean and looks just like the hometown diners you are use to. Casual relaxed atmosphere with friendly and engaging staff. Speaking of the staff, you are greeted warmly upon entering and depending on the time you arrive, you are seated quickly. The wait staff are friendly and knowledgeable about their menu and quick to make sure your coffee is always full and hot and that your food is just right and enjoyable. Orders are taken within minutes of sitting down, when you are ready to order and the food is hot and freshly delivered to your table in 15 minutes or less. These times will very depending on when you visit. I visited on a Sunday morning at 7:30 am and there were about 20 people seated at tables when I arrived. Now about the food, it was cooked and seasoned well, the portions were large and the price point was fair for what you ordered. Well worth the price as far as taste and portion were concerned, coffee was hot, fresh with a great smooth flavor not bitter and OJ had a great taste. I highly recommend this establishment for your next meal, it is medium group size friendly as well as kid friendly. Great place for your next family meal.
