The atmosphere is really fun here. My wife and I thought it was really neat. The service was very prompt and professional. All of the staff was extremely courteous and interactive. I had the smash burger and my wife had a cheeseburger. They were both made to order with no issues. We enjoyed them. She also splurged and got a vanilla malted shake. It was very good. My friend and I went here around 6 PM on a Friday. We love a good diner moment, so we were looking to have a burger, fries, and milkshake. The diner itself is clean and it's bright inside, with lots of decorations, and it's a fun 50s/60s themed diner. The server was fine, she checked in on us periodically. We ordered our food and asked if we could order our milkshakes. They said that they had just cleaned up the milkshake machine and that it's out for the night. They close at 9 and nowhere online does it say that they close the machine done around 6. We mainly came here for a milkshake, so it was a bit disappointing. I overheard the waitresses playing a would you rather game. They asked would you rather make milkshakes all night or work on silverware? They all laughed and decided silverware would be the way to go. I get that making milkshakes may be time consuming and annoying, but it's a diner. I'm wondering if they just didn't want us to order any milkshakes and told us it was closed for the night. We decided that we would order a different dessert at the end of our meal. This is a cute little diner with all the delicious naughty foods you would expect. My mother, aunt, and I all ordered the John Wayne burger (a burger with a chile relleno on top!) Our server was lovely and patient with our indecision (there were so many yummy options). We finished our decadent meal with shakes, I had the Reeces PB cup, it was so good! I've been coming to Gunther Toady's for over 15 years, it's a true feel to being a 50's themed diner. The staff has always been friendly and welcoming. As far as the food they serve breakfast all day so when you're craving a delicious breakfast meal stop in to this place. Our daughter really wanted to come down to Gunther Toody's as she loves 50's Diners. FAST Review Food: I ordered the John Wayne burger which has a full sized Chili Relleno! This is one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. I ordered onion rings too. We also got Chicken wrap and chicken nuggets along with a shake, I don't remember the name but it was supposed to look like blood. Atmosphere: this looks like a classic 50's diner, really decked out! Super fun inside and old cartoons playing on the TV. Service: our waitress was great. An onion ring fell on the floor and they brought me a whole basket full of more. My last visit here was a sea of red flags that I was eating in a place that I probably should have just gotten up and walked away from. Also a place that will likely soon be closed. Here are some of said red flags. - Only one other table was there when we arrived at 5:15. - We were given the eye-roll, "ah crap, more customers" vibe upon entering. - They were all out of both Pepsi and ham, and the waitress commented that ordering might be tough because they were out of "other stuff" too. - My burger literally had frozen green chiles on top. No, not cold...FROZEN. - My nephew had a hair in his eggs. - My father ordered his hamburger medium well. It was medium rare to rare. - Both breakfasts had cold, undercooked hash browns. We were nice and patient. Even though she wasn't exactly the model of warmth or friendliness, we were kind to our server. This all did not appear to be her fault. After all of this, she took $7 off of our tab. What a joke. We won't be back. I don't think that will be an issue. I don't think it will be there for long. I frequented GT back when the Arvada location was opened and it was a fun place to go to. Very friendly staff. Today I didn't see one employee smile or say hello. The biscuits and gravy was terrible. The gravy did not have flavor, even though it had chunks of bland sausage in it. The worst part was the biscuits. They were so hard I needed a steak knife to cut them. I asked for hash browns to be browned and they came out as shaved raw potatoes. read more

We've visited this location a few times & usually no issues. Tonight wasn't that for me. The bathroom was dingy, so was the wall next to me at our booth. Fingerprints & smudges. Needs some deep clean all over that place. I ordered the Bridgit Bardot cocktail. It consisted of half a shot of vodka (I watched her measure it) & some juice. Definitely not $8 worth. I first tried the Bat Outta Hell burger but I was expecting actual meatloaf like it described. But it was more like a Stoufers Salisbury Steak patty on a bun with tots & mushroom gravy. I took one bite & sent it back. I just couldn't. It reminded of my middle school cafeteria. So I ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken with mashed potatoes. She told me it comes with another side. I literally said "all I want is mashed potatoes so whatever, fruit is fine I guess". Not having the menu in front of me, it's all I could think off the top of my head. However, we were charged $2 for it. But after pointing it out they corrected it. The white gravy was weird tasting. I can't put my finger on it, but something tasted off in it. And it was a grayish color, not white. I took 2 bites & couldn't even finish it bc it all was slathered in that odd gravy. Hubby had the California burrito but it was missing half the ingredients listed on the menu. My son had French toast sticks. Nothing was good. Our waitress kept disappearing. Literally $80 for food I could've cooked better myself at home. Like I said, we've frequented this place twice before without issues so I'm unsure what's changed in the last few months. I really came in there expecting to leave a great review. But they dropped the ball BIG TIME this time. I left really unhappy & bitter about the cost vs the quality. We won't be back after this visit. I even called the manager while on the drive back home, which I NEVER DO. I rarely speak with a manager (or have to, tbh) but I really just felt like I needed to make her aware of how horrible this visit was. And she had the nerve to blame it on "the 2 new cooks". Do they place the orders for the food they cook? No. Who ordered Salisbury steaks & calls it meatloaf? Not the cooks. It wasn't HOW it was cooked. It was the quality & taste of the food used. Period. The new cooks aren't back there whipping up some odd gravy recipe on their own accord. The audacity of this manager in the phone conversation was unbelievable. Taste your own food. I dare you. Prepare what I had.. and tell me what you think, manager lady. Please. Then go do a real inspection of the cleaning around the tables & the bathroom. We walked into this restaurant tonight and was seated. My partner went to the bathroom and came back to tell me the bathroom was absolutely filthy. I've worked in the restaurant business before and know, that if the restaurants bathroom is dirty and not clean that the customer should turn around and walk out. Dirty bathrooms = dirty kitchens and health standards are probably not being met. We decided to leave and go elsewhere. Music from Elvis. Food was disappointing: Chicken fried steak with sausage gravy. Both seemed prefabricated in a factory somewhere in Newark New Jersey. Steak was not "Huge" as advertised in the menu, but not being in Texas, this is forgivable. We ended up eating here because the Chili's up the way was understaffed and had a ridiculous wait. Anyway this is a diner themed restaurant, looks the part on the inside with the nostalgic decorations and the bar. Some of the girl waitresses dress the part adding to the theme. As for the inside I'd say it's a little bit rundown even though it's retro themed it probably could be refreshed to feel cleaner. The food itself has a homemade feel versus that of a commercial chain even though that's what this is. I kind of wish it was more commercial because if I wanted to eat at home I would have done that. The food itself was ok but nothing to get excited about. The service was quick for how busy it was. I'd say the most disappointing thing was the cost seemed expensive, not sure if that's just the sign of the times with inflation but 72 bucks for 2 adults and a toddler for lunch seemed a little steep. Overall I think the 3 rating is fair for what this place is. The people were friendly and the food is decent, but wouldn't be on my top five to eat if given the choice of where to go. read more

I had to travel down to Commerce City to pick up some parts, and hadn't been to a Gunther Toody's in several years so I was really looking forward to it. Unfortunately it was a real disappointment. Half the thing that I was remembering weren't on the menu, at least at this (Larkridge) location. I ordered the John Wayne, which is supposed to be a cheese burger with a Chili Rellenos, a green chili and a pico de Gallo. They didn't have any Rellenos so I ordered a cheese burger with American and American Swiss cheeses, 2 hash brown patties and a strawberry shake. The burger came with red onion, pickles, lettuce and tomato. There was more than enough lettuce to make any bunny happy. The tomatoes were very bland. The meat it's self was cooked to a medium as I had asked, but it didn't have any real beef taste at all. I couldn't find the American Cheese. The bottom bun was so greasy that my hand was literally cover in grease. The hash browns tasted like they had been deep fried with fish. The highlights? The strawberry shake that came in a shake can with a wide bore straw and the wait staff. Even with only 3 tables, they tried to play their roles... We've eaten here several times and it's been a good experience however, today we were craving Gunther Toody's. We ordered and I went to pick up our meals for curbside pickup. I called when I arrived as instructed. It took an additional 5-10 minute wait and the guy brought out our food (very polite). I asked about our 2 shakes and 1 malt. They had to go back and make them - another wait. By the time I got home with our $100.00+ dinner the food was on the cold sign and we could barely eat the food even warmed up. If I could rate it a zero I would. Went there for a birthday dinner and I wish I would've gone literally anywhere else. The beer was completely flat. They brought out or appetizer of wings and they were soggy, HUGE more like drumsticks than wings and they had FEATHERS on them . They were nice enough tot are that off the bill as we didn't eat them after the first bite. We ordered our food - chicken and onion rings and the blt. After that we lost our appetite but my onion rings weee burnt the sandwhich was burnt. Bacon was soggy... they still made us pay lol we finally told them it was bs and they removed one meal due to a coupon I had for my bday..... will never go back the manager sucks and the cooks suck Bugs bunny was nice. When we came in we were instantly greeted and told to choose to sit where we'd like. The server got our drinks right away and when we were ready took our order. The milkshake was the best part of the meal. It was rich and thick but not too thick. The fried mushrooms came out quick. They were delicious and served with ranch. The chicken tenders were mediocre as well as the fries. The honey mustard did add a lot of flavor for the chicken tenders. As for the inside, it's a cute old diner. The manager Bobby, she is rude and likes to argue with customers about complaints on orders or issues with food that was ordered to go. Our office staff had agreed to place an order for pick up, after getting back to the office and unpacking the food, realizing that the food was not put together right. Toast was placed in the food container with the hot food and gravy, which made the toast wet and soggy, and unappealing to want to eat. The gravy was asked to be placed on the side and it was not.
