Finally went to heaven: Waffle House We went on a cold, snowy Thursday night after a day of flying. We immediately got sat down and ordered a bunch of food. I got one of the specials, which was a giant waffle, any side of meat (i got bacon), had browns, toast, and 2 eggs (i got them over easy). It came out to 13 bucks--my friend had my toast. No surprise here - friendly and fast service. Was on my way to the Denver airport and needed some breakfast. Had the All Star Breakfast, with eggs, sausage, grits, a waffle and sourdough toast. The sausage was a little thin, so I will probably go with bacon next time. The service here is really good - someone was always checking to see if I needed anything. This location is opposite a motel, maybe a Quality Inn and the parking lot pavement is a little rough, but there are plenty of places to park. read more

I'm glad my first time at Waffle House was here, it was so pleasant, satisfying and just the right amount of food. Tasty and fast. I got the breakfast plate with lightly scrambled eggs, sourdough toast and bacon, +extra hash browns for 50¢ (and they did not disappoint). My husband got over-easy eggs, grits and a waffle-- they were also great. Plus tasty coffee, as well as excellent customer service. I've always loved Waffle House food. I just had a terrible experience. I ordered a cheeseburger deluxe and after 30 minutes I was still waiting. The patty was on the grill for at least 20 minutes and was probably a hockey puck. They put the patty on a bun but forgot the bacon so they started cooking it--unbelievable. So Jenny, the 83 yr old hostess, keeps up the rep that Jenny's all over the world, their leader I'm quite certain being Jenny L., are the business. The baddest mothers around. She was friendly, and funny, and dancing, and joking, and zinging us with one liners. And anyone who points out me and my lover are twitterpated wins the big stuffed animal prize with me. Plus, she gave us cute little crocheted reindeer that give you a Hershey's kiss when you squeeze their cheeks. At this point I'm wanting to put her in the trunk and take her home with me. Yes it is greasy. Yes it is now $7 instead of $5 for an All-Star breakfast, but still my favorite place to get breakfast anytime of day. You can see them cook your food. This was one of the last chains to accept credit cards, along with another favorite of mine ChickFilA. They are open 365 days a year so even on Thanksgiving or Christmas you can get your WH fix. *** any other time it would be 5 stars. Today I think the grillman is new because the ladies had to repeat the orders way too much. He burned my hubby & I's first waffles and then we had to wait an eternity (almost finished with our food) to get the new waffles. Again, great food and great service, everyone has an off day. This really should be a 3 star review, probably, except I know exactly what to expect from the Waffle House and they deliver consistently. I was disappointed today at the Waffle House 1) the coffee was super weak. It was terrible and to make matters worse they charge 2.15. I'd happily pay 2.15 for A GOOD cup of coffee. So that was a huge bummer. 2) I ordered some hash browns with "add-ons" and I was super excited for my food! But they brought something completely different.. ahghghh! So I had to reorder while I was super hungry watching my husband eat his waffle! Whoa. This is not the Waffle House I remember. Our party of three experienced a variety of problems on this occasion. I ordered a pecan waffle and a side order of sausage patties. The waffle was ok, as expected, but the two silver-dollar-sized sausage trinkets were overcooked and hard. A member of our party ordered a burger and reported the bun smelled funny (which I verified to be true. The smell was not awful, but it was not nearly smelling normal, either.) The cook forgot the cheese on the burger as well. Another of our party reported that their meal was mediocre. This review was almost a 1-star, but I am giving the store the benefit of the doubt. I came here one night around 1:30 am not knowing what to expect. When I got there I was greeted by 2 of the most colorful and entertaining people I've met. These two people I believe their names were Hailey and Chris respectively were fun, kind and very outgoing. I decided that I was going to go with an American staple the double cheeseburger. It was cooked very well and was great with lemonade. Overall when it comes down to it this place really is great and you cant go wrong with it. We got a seat right away. Marisa was very nice and chillax.. Although she smelled like the cigarette she was smoking when we were walking up. I like that I'm able to see how they make my food. We ordered an all star combo with raisin toast, peanut butter waffle, strawberry waffle, and orange juice. The young man cooking seemed new but did a great job. He also often turns around and smile at customers, which I think is nice. The strawberry tasted artificial but the peanut butter chips were pretty good. The grits was good and the bacon was cooked perfectly. Note this is where you go when your in a road trip with hardly any restaurants. Not being from the south, and only experiencing a few Waffle Houses while living in Mississippi for the summer, I'm not really a Waffle House expert. My husband tells me the food here is indicative of a good Waffle House though. The staff is friendly, but shady as hell. They make some good food though, and for $5 you can fill up on some awesome greasy diner food. The $2 bacon, egg & cheese biscuit was delicious. I'm pretty sure the gravy for the biscuits & gravy came from a mix. Either way, I can't wait to drive up here at 3am some night and order all sorts of food I shouldn't be eating at 3am. read more

I got the double with jalapenos, onions, mushrooms with chili on the side. I was hoping for a slightly heartier portion. The onions were cooked but cut too thick to be truly "grilled". If you've never been to a Waffle House, you should go. I love how the waitstaff yells the order to the cook and the cook yells back the order in confirmation, especially with catchy nicknames like: scattered, smothered, covered, and capped. I witnessed a couple of people come in just for their coffee claiming it was the best. Like other specialty eating establishments, Waffle House is best served and appreciated very late at night, very early in the morning, and along long road trips. Don't ask for pancakes at a Waffle House. This is one of a million WH's across the nation. The band hits WH's at about 1-2am for sustenance post-gig (and post-load-in). I can negotiate for a tomato & ham omelet (no cheese, no hash browns, etc.) without too much difficulty (to stay on my slow-carb diet). Drove the RV in and parked by the Best Value Hotel, ignoring the 'Tow Away Zone' signs. There were three people at the bar and one guy in a booth, so not overly busy for noon on Tuesday (sounds like inspiration for a Sheryl Crow song). Two of the three vacant booths were dirty with food debris or syrup, but the waitress came right over when we sat down, greeting us and asking if we knew what we wanted.
