Despite the restaurant being busy, we were seated in a reasonable timeframe. We were checked in on enough times, but not too many. I like that you get your own coffee pot and water bottle so that you can refill your own drinks. There is also a coffee station right inside the entrance so that you can have coffee while waiting to be seated. I appreciate that you can pay at your table using a QR code; more places should have this. Ambiance - feels like a breakfast/brunch place for the general population. Lots of tables to accommodate their many customers. The potatoes were very salty, as another reviewer pointed out. The maple bacon croissant sandwich was good, though it could have used a few more jalapeños. I would try something else next time. Highly recommend the kale tonic, which was my favorite. I've been to a few First Watches and this one was great! Good portion sizes for the price. It's a little small inside so I could see there being a wait on weekend brunch times. Came here around 8am for Mother's Day and this place was already packed! Can definitely tell it's popular among locals, and even with the crowds we were seated with only a short wait. The vibe is a mix of new American with classic diner, with elevated menu options but simplistic service including pour your own coffee and creamer packets on the table. We started with the holey donuts and they were quite tasty dipped in the homemade preserves. The texture is more like a churro than a donut though, and while tasty not the fluffy delight we were expecting. For breakfast we had the Traditional, the Bacado Omelet, the Farmhouse Hash and the Hawaiian Toast (a spring special). The standout was the omelet, creamy from the avocado and cheese and balanced ratio of filling to egg. The Hawaiian toast was underwhelming, lacking in coconut and tropical flavors as promised. The Hawaiian toast took an additional 10minutes to arrive to the table, so we were all eating at different paces. The service was attentive although slightly off-standish. We also felt a little rushed, understanding it was a busy time but clearing plates while we still are using forks to grab food is a little excessive. The sunrise granola bowl should be called the sunrise yogurt bowl because that's practically all that's in it. I ordered it to go based on the food description and the picture on the menu. What I ended up getting was a giant container of yogurt with a few granola sprinkles on top three blueberries one blackberry and one piece of pineapple. That is a lot of money for a bowl of yogurt. I came in with my two daughters and was really disappointed with our experience. We ordered our food right after sitting down, but it took forever to come out. What made it worse was the service--we were completely ignored by our waitress. She regularly checked on all the tables around us, both large and small parties, but never once came by our table. No drink refills, no updates--nothing. We eventually had to get up and ask for our check just to leave. It felt like we were invisible. I could not have asked for anything more in a breakfast place -- this totally hit the spot! Their online menu is what got me really, as they have tantalizing pics and provide ample detail as to how each dish/drink is prepared and what's in them. I was seriously craving fresh juices on this particular road trip, and the Morning Meditation was the best juice I had by far. Not only does it look like a gorgeous sunset, but I loved every single creative ingredient in there. It was so refreshing and healing! My friend's biscuits and gravy were so scrumptiously savory. I usually can't eat biscuits because they're so heavy, but I ended up stealing half of his dish because it was such good quality. I definitely recommend. Our waitress recommended (out of the 3 omelets I couldn't decide on) the Inspired Italian Omelet. I LOVED the sundried tomatoes and delish Italian sausage inside. This is a consistently solid breakfast place. Nothing fancy but always averages a good breakfast. They have a very diverse menu separating it from other basic breakfast places in Longmont. From Avocado toast with basted eggs, ricotta lemon pancakes, and a rotating specials Menu with some super unique items, there is something for everyone. I personally also love their juices. They have an amazing kale drink that I consistently crave. It feels extremely good drinking it. They also typically have a turmeric juice as well that is decent. They also will adjust the menu as needed. Eggs can be requested any way you want and if you are vegetarian they will often substitute avocado for meat in most dishes. They are a bit mushroom heavy with their vegetarian options, but thats a good thing if you like mushrooms! They are a family friendly restaurant, and their interior is friendly and casual. The closest competition on their level is Le Peep. read more

As a fan of First Watch, I was gravely disappointed in my experience here. Our server (who didn't introduce himself but he had cauliflower ears so hard to miss) dropped the ball on numerous occasions but it was how he brought the check that was the last straw for my husband and me. To start, it was a pain to get on the waitlist. There were a bunch of folks crowding the doors so you couldn't tell who was in a line and what it was for. We managed to join the right line. After the hostess seated someone who opted to eat outside we were excited to be next, but then she walked off. We awkwardly approach her, asking if we can get on the list even though we were clearly next in line when she seated the woman outside. At that point, we were quoted 30-45mins. Yeahhhh, it took almost an hour to be seated. Once we were seated, it all went down hill. Since he didn't introduce himself, I'm just going to call our server Chad. It took a moment for Chad to address our table, enough time for us to definitively decide on what we wanted to try this time. When Chad walked up, he grabbed our drink orders and then scurried away. We would've loved to have placed our food order but it was fine, we thought, he might have a process. Chad delivered drinks, no straws, and grabbed our food orders. I ordered the Floridian French toast with a side of potatoes and the sugar free syrup. He ordered the biscuits and gravy, egg whites scrambled (that I ate), potatoes, and we shared their seasonal cinnamon roll crunch thing. I don't know how the cooks do it, but they manage to whip out food so quickly and accurately. I love it and commend them highly for it. Chad arrived with our food, scurried away, and then quickly returned with "some syrup." Mid sentence of me asking "is this the sugar free syrup?" Chad scurried away to another table, dropped off "some syrup," and scurried past our table at which point I waved my hand and said "excuse me!" Bro's deaf. For me, that was the turning point because there were what seemed like micro aggressions the whole time and I hate drawing attention to myself so me waving my hand while he scurried by and loudly (yet politely, like that high pitch, sorry to bother you voice) saying "excuse me!" was not what I wanted. I opted to wait before eating anything that needed syrup because I wanted to be sure it was the syrup I requested. Once the right syrup was loudly dropped onto our table (I don't think Chad liked that I asked him for it), the meal was everything you'd imagine it to be. Everything tasted great and was cooked to perfection. Zero complaints on the food itself and I highly recommend you try the cinnamon roll crunch thing. It's worth it on a cheat day! The straw that broke my husband's back was when the bill came. Chad approached the table, looked at me (still chewing my last bite), looked at my husband, paused for a sec, then asked "soooo 2 separate checks, right?" Had I not had food in my mouth, I probably would've snapped and been *that black lady causing a scene* because this dude had the audacity to look at me wearing a wedding ring, look at the white guy sitting across from me who is also wearing a wedding ring, analyze the situation, then come to the wrong conclusion that we're not together and I'm going to pay my bill separately... never mind the fact that we shared items. Tsk tsk, Chad. Bad move! That alone was icing on the cake for an overall shitty experience brought to us solely by the one and only chad. His lack of situational awareness was truly baffling. And the shitty thing is the table behind us, who had a different server, seemed to be fine. The whole place was busy so Chad had zero excuse for his behavior. I never heard the other server treat the folks sitting behind us funny like Chad did with us. That guy seemed super nice and I envy not having him serve us because maybe we would've had a better experience. read more

But I was troubled how long tables sit vacant while there's groups waiting. We had a nice lunch. I had a Cobb (they forgot the blue cheese and I didn't realize it until nearly done!) My son had the biscuit and gravy which he called gritty. The biscuit was dry. Not recommended. My husband's Chickiechanga was was plentiful and very good, a little bit spicy but quite light.
