Not too sweet with a lovely pillowy center! With coffee this is a slam dunk. Just don't make the same mistake I did and blow on it to cool it down (powdered sugar EVERYWHERE). - Blackened Salmon - $18.90 - Great blackened flavor. If you like Cajun blackened flavor then you'll love this. Salmon perfectly cooked as were the eggs! Cajun home fries was pretty good especially if you like that Cajun seasoning. - Country Fried Steak - $16 - This was absolutely delicious. We visited this place for a nice breakfast before heading up to Rocky Mountain National Park. Our Airbnb was in Longmont, so this was conveniently in the same area. The food was super hearty and tasted like a home cooked meal. Food ordered: - Beignets: Delicious fried pillows of bready pastries covered in a generous dusting of powdered sugar. The pastry was not too sweet, which was nice, and tasted yummy with their homemade strawberry rhubarb jam! - Cajun Breakfast: A ton of food, with red beans with meat, 2 eggs, hollandaise. We got grits and potatoes on the side, both had nice flavors. It also came with a biscuit, which was nice and buttery and moist! Having lived in New Orleans it's wonderful to have this New Orleans style restaurant in my neighborhood. The music and the ambiance bring back memories of my time in NOLA. One of my favorite dishes is the Pain Perdu which is New Orleans style French toast. The homemade syrup is swoon worthy! I add an extra egg & substitute the bacon for sausage. There's also fruit in the plate! The servings are so large at this restaurant! They have one of my favorite chais in Colorado. However (and I may be the only person who feels this way), the beignets are nothing like the ones in New Orleans. They are supposed to be light and fluffy on the inside, but these are heavy and do not have the correct consistency. Ok ok - so this place is so darling. It is an old home converted restaurant. Very charming with surprisingly a lot of seating inside and outside. I decided to take first available because of how packed it was but would have loved to enjoy the outside space. ( especially in good weather) Food food food: Gumbo - was warm and I didn't return it but felt it could have been hot. It felt like it was left out for a while and then served or brought to me. (Benefit of the doubt this won't happen again) Beignet - absolutely yummy ( add some of the jam from your table ;) you're welcome) Blackened salmon - very good and finished the whole plate! We have always loved this place but haven't been here for awhile. It has clearly changed management since we last came. We arrived and were greeted promptly, seated. Then we were ignored for 20 minutes with no water, which would be understandable if it were busy. It was not busy at all which should have tipped us off since historically it is always busy. When the server finally got around to us, she was friendly enough and then she promptly forgot us again. When our order arrived she had forgotten a side which I reminded her we had ordered. Then she ignored us again, never bringing the side. It was terrible service and we both agreed the food in the Fort Collins location is better. (Bigger biscuits and larger servings). Very disappointing for those of us who have great memories of how good the food and service was here. Sadly we will not be back. read more

The grits and biscuit were too salty though the grits texture was perfect. The biscuit is cut from a sheet pan, not a round biscuit and cake like in texture. The creamed spinach was tepid, flavor was good, didn't seem fresh. The eggs were properly poached. The three medium shrimp were boiled or poached, tail on, not grilled as is typical in the South. I have the memory of an ant, but I remember breakfast at Lucille's in Fort Collins ten years ago. I vividly remember where I sat, what I ordered, and how incredible I thought it was. Apparently folks have caught on and Lucille's has grown like weeds. I knew I had to go when I heard a location up in Longmont. I overheard a waitress saying that the owner was in the kitchen today. There was a line out the door when we came here for brunch, and I can see why. The food is fantastic. I had the shrimp and cheese grits, as well as a chai, and they were all excellent. My kids had the French toast and sausage, and my husband had shrimp etouffee, and everyone was happy. Lucile's is the cutest little cafe! We love coming here for breakfast! Their coffee and teas are delicious. I always get the Homemade Chai and Beignets to start. Their menu has lots of Cajun/creole specialties such as, andouille, hot Louisiana sausage, grits, red beans, Cajun style salmon, béarnaise sauce, Gulf shrimp, etc. Also their buttermilk biscuits are huge! It's a great place to go if you want to try something new and different or if you're from the south, I'm sure it would remind you of home! The restaurant itself is not large, it has been transformed from a house built 1910! It is very cute and cozy inside and has old photos of Louisiana and Mardi Gras decorations on the walls. My father went in for Father's Day breakfast. We have been waiting outside the restaurant an hour before Lucile's had opened because normally it's one of our favorite places to go. We were the second ones to be sat down, ordered right away but we never received our food up to 40 minutes after we ordered. When I notified our server and the manager on duty neither seemed to be that sincere about our disappointment sucks because it WAS one of our favorite places. But we found a new favorite now. This was only my second trip, but even though we were there within minutes of it opening, there was a line - that tells you it must be good. Coffee - very good! They have specialty coffee drink that are good as well, but coffee is great. Juice - Fresh squeezed! Food - Benedict is very good. Tasty southern comfort food. The buttermilk biscuits were fresh out of the oven, and they were large, flaky, and warm, with just the right amount to light crisp crust. It went well with the strawberry jam in the little plastic condiment jar on the table. The chicory coffee is a dark roast and so smooth that I had 2+ cups. They refill your coffee, included in the price. For our entrees, we had the Eggs New Orlean and the Creole Omelette. Both were very delicious and filling. The Eggs New Orlean consists of two fried slices of eggplant covered in their creole sauce (think a tomato based thick sauce, topped with a perfectly poached egg on top of each eggplant and hollandaise sauce. We chose a side of grits for this dish which went very well together. You can choose to add cheese to the grits but it tasted good without the cheese. The Creole Omelette had spicy sausage and diced ham in their creole sauce, and we choose a side of potatoes. The sausage is indeed spicy but the dish was flavorful. This place is very popular and there is often a wait. Be patient and just know to check in with the hostess if it's been over 20 minutes since you've been waiting and others who came after you are getting seated first. We did that and the hostess realized that they overlooked our name on the wait list (there were only two of us so it's not like we were a large group). She then seated us immediately. As I said, they are busy so be patient to get seated, to get a menu, etc. All is well as soon as you start eating their food. By the way, we really wanted to eat their beignets but it comes in a set of 4 huge beignets. Condusive to sharing if you go with a part of 4, or if all you eat are beignets for your meal. read more

We had to wait for a little bit around 9:30 on a Saturday morning, but no biggie as it appeared to be a very happening breakfast spot. Coffee and beignets were good. I did the Eggs Jennifer, which was okay, but not sure it's uniquely Creole, so I would probably suggest a different breakfast item, if you want to go more authentic. Our server was friendly and attentive; however, I'm downgrading my rating from four to three stars. We were actually asked to leave shortly after finishing our meal. "Sorry, but we need the table." Okay, fine. I get there are people waiting; however, there were far fewer patrons waiting at that time than when we came in. I understand it's not all about me, and you want to get in as many diners as possible, but I felt that was pretty rude. I've never been asked to leave a restaurant before simply because the table was needed. I was also catching up with a friend from college I've not seen in 15+ years, so having our conversation cut short was a bummer. read more

This has been my favorite breakfast/brunch restaurant in CO for 12 years now, it's Creole food and amazing! They have the most best biscuits and sausage gravy in Boulder county. Also their eggs Benedict w hollandaise Don't forget their signature Bloody Mary's! The staff is super friendly! If possible they got busier during the pandemic after reopening, and if you don't actually go in and sit down during the weekend, chances are you won't get food.
