My boyfriend and I were looking for somewhere to eat last night and decided to come here. When we arrived, we were able to be seated right away outside. We started off ordering the Kool-aid Killer and the Bahama Mama for drinks. Both drinks were really good, but the Kool-aid Killer was a little stronger, if you're looking for something strong. For entrees, we ordered the shrimp po-boy with fries and the pick 2 combo: shrimp and a crab cake with a baked potato. Iguana's is known for their shrimp so definitely a good option. The negatives we experienced were some of our food wasn't the hottest. The hush puppies that came with the pick 2 combo were cold and so were the fries. The crab cake wasn't my favorite and I ended up asking for more shrimp since a shrimp dinner is the same price as the pick 2 combo. The manager was very accommodating, which was nice, but overall our experience was just okay. FYI: They do offer complimentary ice cream, but we opted out since they ran out of cones. read more

Went to for dinner, been several times before this time not happy, one of the waiters was very rude. Shrimp was so greasy could not even eat it. Ordered the Caribbean chicken cut into it, it was raw sent it back, when it came back out they had cut the piece off I cut and I'm assuming put in the microwave. read more

The outside of Iguanas is not very impressive. The driver of our trolley tour recommended it, so we went there for lunch. The decor inside is amazing! Hubby and I both ordered the fried shrimp lunch special, and it was delicious! Seven large fried Georgia shrimp with hushpuppies and two sides. We also enjoyed the complimentary self-serve soft ice cream with hot fudge sauce and toppings. Very enjoyable. read more

As we were walking around the village, we decided we wanted a quick bite. We actually went here thinking it was Mexican food!! It's not. It's a seafood restaurant with a good sized selection of menu items. My mil ordered the grilled shrimp po boy with pasta salad. My mom ordered a small Greek salad and a cup of crab bisque. I ordered a bowl of crab bisque. Everything was good and at the end we were surprised to find out we got free ice cream. Nice!! Kid friendly and good servers. If 'meh' had a picture in the dictionary, it's this place. We stopped in for a seafood dinner and left wishing we had gone somewhere else. First, covid is not a concern in this establishment. I get that the state of Georgia is a bit ass backwards at the moment, but the liability this business is taking on seems excessive, not to mention the general disregard for humanity. Some of the wait staff wears masks, but will often keep theirs below their nose or take it off to speak to customers. Bartenders did not wear masks. Hell, the manager straight up was not wearing a mask! Our waiter legit told us we didn't have to wear a mask with him, and seemed honestly surprised when I responded, "no, we do this by choice." He couldn't have imagined why, let alone understood how our wearing a mask helps protect him. Guests are walking around without masks, and no one cares. It is absolutely bananas. Food was meh. Our appetizers arrived after our entrees, which our waiter explained was because "that part of the kitchen was backed up." Minor inconvenience, but he seemed overwhelmed with the idea of playing Tetris with the plates so they'd fit on the table. Parmesan oysters were decent. Mussels were okay. We got the snow crab legs and the scallops. Again, meh. Side dishes were also meh. The most irritating part of this entire lackluster experience was the lack of training. It was clear that our waiter was new, which normally would be fine. But he kept having the same challenges at other tables, so there was no learning happening. He could not tell us what was fresh vs. frozen because he "doesn't get asked that much and has never spent much time in the back." Little familiarity with the food and drink menus. Also continuously apologized....shit happens, and we get that, but stop coming by to continuously offer us the same bad news. I think this place needs to invest in training. We spent $150 for an experience that your local Applebee's could've bested for a lot less. read more

This was one of the first restaurants we tried when we first moved to the area and 2 years later it's still our favorite. The food is always amazing and the servers are great. We love sitting outside with our dogs and watching people while we eat. Good setting, well decorated. Good service. We split the choose three which comes with tasty cole slaw and tasty hush puppies and one side. The three we chose were fried shrimp, fried flounder and fried clams all tasty. Watch out for the side we chose, which I would call "subtle mac & cheese." There was more of some sauce then cheese. Good drinks (top shelf Margarita w/GM) was a perfect reward, after a long week. I wasn't in the mood for meat so I made a special request for mushrooms on my Po' Boy. And they were seasoned to perfection. Yum! Bad news is fries were too greasy to eat. This place makes me happy. Anytime we go to St. Simons, I make a stop here for lunch. We called to see if they could accommodate a party of 10 and they said come on. Our food was really good and the waitress Courtney was a blast! She made sure we had refills and all. Wish more people were like her. The fish and oysters were impeccable. All the food came out hot and fresh. You guys have to try the shrimp and grits. It's big enough for two people to enjoy and still get full. The complimentary ice cream is great for the kids. Went here on Sunday for lunch. Huge mistake. The ac was non existent on a sweltering day. Flies everywhere inside, including my food. Took way too long for our waitress to initially show up and twice as long for her to return with our drinks. I ordered the chicken sandwich. Seemed safe. It was the worst I've ever had. Very tough and flavorless. They kept saying my wife's onion rings were on the way and apologizing for how long they were taking. THEY WERE JUST ONION RINGS!!! We ended up just canceling them. I wish we had more time on our vacation to come back and enjoy more of their food. It was raining and we had the dog so we ended up outside, covered and dry. The host was very nice and attentive and not on his phone like others. We shared the cheese bread which was fabulous. All of us had hamburgers which were huge!! So tasty! Fun atmosphere and good food! Reasonable prices and everyone gets free ice cream for dessert. Family friendly and good for a group but sometimes the wait for a table is really long....however they will text you when your table is ready and the restaurant is in the middle of a cute touristy shopping area so it's easy to kill time while you're waiting! read more

Our group went there right before close a couple of weeks ago so my husband could get oysters on the half shell (which he said were great) and I left my purse behind. I didn't realize it until the next day when I was 7 hours away. Someone from Iguanas found me on Facebook and I called the next day. We've eaten here before and thoroughly enjoyed it, but on this trip, the food was just ok. My wife and I split the combo, making it shrimp 3 ways (Fried, blackened, and coconut). All 3 of them were ok. Nothing bad, but none of them were great, which shocked us, especially after being told by the waitress that they had the best shrimp in the area. The fried shrimp was the best of the three, but it lacked any kind of seasoning. The coconut tasted very bland, very little flavor to them at all. The blackened weren't bad, but not as good as the fried, but not as bad as the coconut.
