The weekend service is non-existent. I tried to get a to go order; I was told they don't TURN ON THE PHONE ON THE WEEKENDS & I was lucky they weren't busy or I couldn't have ordered a to-go order. The service during the week is exceptional; the food fresh, but I believe I'll have to reconsider my dining choices It is sometimes hard to hear because of acoustics. read more

We stopped here on our way home from Jacksonville to Ohio. Great location for passing through, right off the interstate. Although, we stopped here on a Sunday afternoon. We arrived at 12:15 (they close at 1) and they were packed! We waiting about 15 minutes to be seated. Our service was short and sweet. No frills or extras. You could tell they were about to close and ready to get us out the door. She was friendly enough though. Food arrived super quick. Food was good. First omelet I've ever had that had sliced cheese on top of it, not sure I would want that again. But for a stop to grab breakfast and get back on the road, it wasn't bad. read more

The food was AMAZING. The shrimp was sweet and fresh and cooked perfectly in my omelette, and the pancakes are some of the lightest and fluffiest I've ever had. The pancakes were amazingly light and fluffy, with a perfect crispy edge. It's rare to find an egg white omelette that tastes just as good as a regular one, but mine was literally perfect. This is the kind of food where you get sad if your loved ones aren't there to enjoy it with you. Lovely food, fantastic service, and very satisfied customers! I recommend the veggie egg white omelette add shrimp, the chicken and waffles, and the sampler platter! We didn't even get any pictures because of how quickly we devoured our food. read more

Update: we came back for breakfast and were very disappointed. The waffle was made with pancake batter. They serve whipped spread instead of butter. We ordered crispy bacon and it was almost white, not crispy. I'd give 2-1/2 stars if that was an option. We won't be returning. read more

Looks can be deceiving. I want to give this place a high rating just walking in the door. The locals were here and the place was booming! These are all great signs of a fantastic breakfast to come. I rate breakfast places starting with real potatoes, so I am wasting my time writing this, but hopefully saving yours. They had frozen hashbrowns. My eggs were prepared well and the toast was buttered! The hubby had chicken and a waffle, which he said was just ok. The boys had chocolate, banana crepes. Visiting from Kentucky we decided to eat at this breakfast place to get our day started before seeing the sites lighthouse, beach, WWII memorial. Service - 5/5 Receipt stated hostess name was Dorthy. Our hostess was amazing and friendly. She was able to offer many options and advice. She was friendly and was able to make customizations for my needs. She was attentive to our needs. Food 4.5 / 5 the food was delicious and hit the spot entirely. I got the breakfast burrito and my partner got the cheese burger. My partner made the statement that he enjoyed that the food was freshly cooked. Allergy - Considerations were made for my needs. Environment / Ambiance 5/5 The environment is chill and family friendly. Our table and area was clean and tables were cleaned in a timely manner. Noise Level - Average was 67.4 decibels. Picture attached. I took snapshots of the sound throughout the experiences. The loudest was probably the person busing the tables. He was really loud with the plates clashing together. Wow, can't believe it's been four years since my last visit. Sunrise just has the perfect diner menu. This time, I opted for breakfast as it has such a huge selection of both savory and sweet dishes. Their prices have remained super affordable. It's hard to believe that for $12.95 I received a gorgeous spinach, onion, Swiss cheese, mushroom omelet topped with ham cubes and tomatoes, a fruit bowl and a serving of hash browns. For the same price, my husband got a Philly cheesesteak omelette stuffed with meat, onions, shrooms, peppers and cheese a side of potatoes and two griddled pancakes. You can't even get a better deal at Waffle House. Doesn't seem the egg shortage has affected its pricing, at least for now. All items were hot. The cantelope, pineapple and grapes were perfectly chilled and super fresh. Tess, our server was a delight - prompt, friendly and accommodating. This place is really a gem. The food is always hit or miss. But we come back because it is one of the few places in town close by. I think it's important to note that we always get the same few aged servers. I say that due to the incident that occurred today - we had to repeat our order numerous times our server. The order came back with dry and crumbly pancakes and hair in the food. Something that is unfortunately somewhat normal. Upon finding the hair half of the food was gone and just paid and left. Genuinely not realizing that the two year old was playing with the tip money and it was put back into a purse. I was then approached by a manager,owner or whoever he is knocking on my window asking if something was wrong with the service. After saying no I was told to not come back if we can't tip. Knocking on the window was unprofessional and unacceptable. I was told that "my waitresses don't work for free that's why they've been here so long " told the guy to pay them and walked out after leaving the intentioned tip with him. Food is good, service is good, but they have the absolute ridiculous weekend hrs. especially Sunday hrs. you get out of church around 12:30 have to drive across town to get there, and guess what they close at 1 pm. any other restaurant on Sunday is busy to at least 2pm. Yet during the week they close 2 pm. I will never understand there weekend hrs. read more

The food comes out quick and hot but is lacking flavor for sure. It's like all the breakfast places around here are all the same. No flavor @ all & bland. The portions were ok to say the least. Came by with a bunch of friends for lunch and I had a great meal. I ordered the shrimp & grits, and it was cooked very well. The shrimp had a smoky flavor, there was yummy chunks of sausage, and the grits were cheesy and delicious. Our server was polite, and she made sure to come by to refill our drinks and check on us.
