All-meat omelet

Food and service great. Had the all-meat special omelet with hash browns. Service was great. Clean restrooms.

BLT and potato soup

Definitely seems like a down home family restaurant with many customers knowing the employees. Restaurant was busy but it is very organized with a quick flip of tables when customers leave and new ones come. Our server was friendly and attentive. The orange juice was freshly squeezed and delicious. I ordered fish and chips and my husband had the BLT and potato soup. The food was good with large portions, so we both left with boxes. I don't usually rant on tartar sauce but their tartar sauce was so good and should be sold in stores. This place is definitely somewhere to eat!

Grumpy's Madd Breakfast Wrap

Stopped in here for brunch on July 4th. We got sat at a table right away. Our service was super fast and all of the employees were very friendly. We started off with a biscuit and they're very butter, which was very different but delicious. Then my boyfriend had the mad breakfast wrap which was very large and Yum. I had the eggs Benedict, which had a lot of great flavor to it. We were just in town visiting friends for the holiday weekend, but we definitely come back if we could !

Eddie was our server today. He did an excellent job! He had a great personality, kept the coffee flowing, and at the end surprised my friend with a birthday cinnamon roll! I also had the fried chicken Benedict, which was absolutely amazing. I did get it on a croissant instead of on a biscuit which made it amazing.

Pancakes, bacon and eggs

We have dined here on multiple occasions because we enjoy the food. However, this time around it didn't rock our world. I will say the sweet is spot on, and they keep it coming! Shrimp and grits special didn't have the savory flavor I would have expected. It was more like a heavy Zataran flavor, in my opinion. I wasn't a fan. Pancake, bacon, and eggs were all cooked well and hot. The syrup is just syrup, nothing special. Our server, Tyler, was outstanding. He was pleasant, attentive, professional, polite, and cheerful without being a 'robot'.

Cinnamon roll is outstanding!

Our first visit at any Grumpy's. My daughter wanted us to try the Orange Park location but it was too busy. This location is closer to us and the wife wanted to try some place new. Got here for a late breakfast so it wasn't slammed like I usually see them. Got seated right away and our bubbly server greeted us quickly. Tried the OJ, didn't realize it was fresh squeezed. Not complaining its freshness but it had a bitter orange peel tinge to it. I ordered the Grumpy's Big Breakfast. 2 eggs, chose the bacon, and home fries and comes with 2 huge pancakes. The bacon was under cooked for my liking. I enjoy crispy bacon, this was half cooked bacon at best, if it limps over when you pick it up it's not cooked enough. The home fries were barely warm, almost room temperature but had a great seasoning on it. My sister came to this location several weeks ago and said she got the grits over the home fries and also said her grits were barely warm. At least they're consistent on the warmth of their food. I also had to salt my eggs. The winner of the breakfast was the cinnamon roll we got to try before our breakfast was served. That was outstanding! Initially I only ordered OJ and water but the Big breakfast comes with coffee, tea or soda, so I ordered a coffee also. When I received the bill a coffee was on the bill and I brought it to my server's attention and she removed it from the tab. Just watch your check for unnecessary charges. Overall it was okay for us, Cracker Barrel would have been better. You need to tighten up on your food warming station and have someone quality control the food going out. It's obviously a problem. I usually don't return to restaurants that are just okay. Good luck!

I first have to commend Michael, our server! I truly hope management realizes the gem they have with him. He approached our table with the most genuine smile and was extremely attentive to me and my friend. Always one step ahead he was there with refills for her coffee and unsweet tea for me. He was even forward thinking to verify that the corn beef hash was made from scratch. (sad enough it was not) but I commend him for finding out and allowing me to change the order. His service is beyond reproach and should be commended by management. This new location (well for me) is outstanding. Clean warm and inviting provides a wonderful atmosphere for spending time with friends. We had the privilege of getting to sit outside, which was nice this particular day. The pancakes that I had I have to say were cooked to perfection! They were a nice light golden Brown, not overcooked, and the eggs were done perfectly. My friend thoroughly enjoyed her breakfast as well. This was a great visit and Michael was phenomenal!!

I can see how this place would be a good option. Lots of menu items, friendly staff, big restaurant. Sadly, the sandwich was lousy. Ordered the big blt, which was advertised as big and beautiful. Mine came out as a bbl. Bacon, bread, lettuce. Had to go find my server to ask for tomato, which came as two tiny unripe slices. Sigh. The bacon was soft and cold, fatty and chewy, I added my tomato, took one bite and said nope. By then we had already been waiting an hour, so I just asked for it to be taken off. Which they gladly did. Meh, that was my experience and probably won't be back thru here. Although if I was local, I might try it again. My dining partner ate their meal, it was unremarkable. Bonus for them, they have coke zero and clean bathrooms.

The past few times we have been, food has been served cold, with hairs in it, and in shifts. It's to the point we won't return.

Flavorful, perfectly cooked scrambled eggs, and the sausage gravy to die for. Really enjoyed the biscuits!!! Two others in the group had the omelet with side of grits. Again, amazing grits (not a food I grew up with but certainly came to love when cooked correctly) and delicious eggs n cheese. Do not be put off with the exterior!! It is an old gas station, converted to an amazing breakfast and lunch spot. I normally come for lunch, chicken made perfectly with amazing sides! The coffee is always perfect. Service is mostly you serve yourself. Coffee, creamers, drinks, butter, napkins, cutlery, ice, water, all available at the back of the shop. The people at the order station are ALWAYS so nice and welcoming. Just a great place for breakfast and lunch. I come back every time we are in the area.

The team members were politely social and regularly checked on their tables. I wasn't sure if I had to wait or could seat myself. So, I walked in and moved toward the breakfast bar but was seated by one of the owners, Celine (I hope that I spelled it right.) I ordered an egg, soft scrambled, turkey sausage with grits, a pancake and a cup of decaf coffee. The pancake was LARGE . I knew that I wasn't going to finish, and I was right! I reckon it's standard not to season eggs, but would that include the water for grits? A suggestion: try cooking the grits in broth to enhance the flavor! That's it. Celine shared that she and Mark have owned the restaurant for the past 3 of the 35-year history. She jokes that he looks like Guy Fieri and he quips that he's better looking. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience. I plan to try their lunch menu, soon.
