Also - their all you can eat breakfast and lunch deal is unbeatable for breakfast it's $12.99 and their lunch is $16.99 sodas and juices included with your entree of choice! Their other best brunch option was the honey butter chicken biscuit and this easily can feed 3 people! I was highly impressed and I'll definitely be back! The owners are just the sweetest thing! Came here for dinner on a Sunday night. Chubs is a retro diner that has a varied menu. They serve breakfast all day, have a daily special , sandwiches, salad and burgers. The tables were clean and were cleaned quickly when tables were empty. Very helpful, friendly staff here. Between the decor and the staff it's like stepping back in time to the good ole days. I decided on breakfast with eggs, bacon, grits and a biscuit. When I saw the huge biscuit I knew right away it was homemade. Wonderful. I could only eat half and brought the rest home. I asked for the bacon to be crispy and it was!! There is dessert menu on the table. I advise you to pay attention. I asked about the gooey bars.....they had some with chocolate chips but I asked if they made them plain. Ethan went in the back and got one for me! That's good old fashioned customer service! They make these bars in house and have different flavors....some fruit ones, a few with nuts, etc. I loved the plain one....very rich. I was so full I had to bring most of it home with me, but I am so glad I tried it. I advise checking out this family run diner. It's one of those hidden gems! read more

Upon receiving several positive reviews regarding the food and service, I went to try Chubs for a late breakfast today. Unfortunately, the restaurant is closed with no information available for when, or if, the restaurant will reopen. I would recommend calling before going to see if they have reopened. read more

What can you NOT say about this place? Service....fabulous...Carrie was so amazing!!! Everyone was welcoming, great customer service! Ambiance...spot on, like an old style diner!!! Very, very clean!!! Food...now let's talk...when I say it is mouthwatering, I mean mouthwatering! I had the Patty Melt...OMG!!! Serviced hot, I mean the cheese was so gooey, just fabulous! Just the right amount of horseradish sauce, not overpowering!!! Hubby had the Reuben, he stopped talking so he good eat it! Fries with the Chub's "secret" sauce...people,people,people....a must try with the fries! We even tried to get the recipe so we could have at home, but no luck. Best breakfast on the island!! Our family enjoyed eggs, biscuits, pancakes, omelets, grits, and hashbrowns. Absolutely everything was delicious! Even the coffee was wonderful. Be prepared for a wait, apparently this place is always packed... we had to wait out in the cold because there was such a line to be seated. I found out that this place is a small family business, they bought it from the previous owners this past September. The food is great, I would only come back if I had no other plans for the rest of the day because it takes a while to be seated and even longer for the food to come out. They have a lot of people to service and the place is not that big so it's totally understandable. We all really enjoyed our meals, by the time it came out we were all practically starving. Everything was yummy and fresh. I wish the potatoes were a bit more on the crispy side, they were mushy but flavorful. My coworker said he really enjoyed the milkshake from this place and I love milkshakes so I ordered a vanilla milkshake... it was essentially a large cup of milk with chunks of ice cream. The waitress said it was her first time making the milkshake and that it's usually a different person making them so maybe others will have a better milkshake if you decide to give it a chance. Chubs is one of my favorite breakfast spots on the island! It's located in what was once a huddle house, so it has that diner feel but with much better food! Everything on the menu is delicious but this time I got the usual suspects breakfast and everything came out just right! My only tip is to get there early, it's not very big and gets crowded very fast. This will always be my go-to breakfast spot on the island and I can't recommend it enough! read more

Chubs is fantastic! Visited from Jacksonville FL recently and had something similar to a Big Mac but 1000 times better. The loaded fries were delicious and unique. I honestly have never had fries like these before. Service was great. Gillian took care of us and was personable and sweet. We really appreciated her. Loved the layout and seating. Nice diner with nice big picture windows Came back in a couple of days later for breakfast and every single thing we ate was wonderful. Some of the best pancakes I've ever tasted. Well to start off the food is ok. Saw mill gravy & collards are Definitely sweet when it shouldn't be.(The collard greens are not good @ all) the sausage was loaded with rosemary...way too much! While visiting St. Simon island I wanted breakfast and yelp recommended Chubs restaurant. First it has tons of parking space . After entering I was greeted by a couple of friendly ladies behind the counter. One the most polite people I have ever met . I had the biscuits and gravy ( well seasoned) gravy and eggs with andouille sausage. It was wonderful and a lot of flavor. I didn't take any pictures of the food I sat at the counter and felt kinda weird taking a food pic. So I am looking at their specials and on Thursday it's 12 hour pot roast . But on Friday it's whole fried catfish . So I asked my server even though it's Thursday can I have catfish.My wife loves catfish and since we were driving back to miami it would be great to eat at a rest stop. She asked the chef and he said yeah ....so after checking out I went back to Chubs and picked up 2 orders of freaking awesome fried catfish with extra tater sauce. Catfish and chips was perfect didn't care much for the coleslaw. But if you ever in that area just stop and have breakfast at chubs.. Now the only negative I have is I wish the cooks had on hairnets . Next time I am going there gonna bring my brother the cook a jamaican skully. read more

This establishment seems to be a favorite of many. When we went on a Saturday around 10 it was packed, was noisy and crowded. I ordered the eggs Benedict, wasn't typical hollandaise sauce. Half the food was served Luke warm, waitress dropped off the food and didn't return until she dropped of the check. Seems to be a greasy spoon dinner type place. What an awesome place! Chubs is the perfect neighborhood diner. When you walk in the very friendly servers and staff great you with a "good morning" and a smile. The last couple times I have eaten there Paula has been our server and she is attentive to always fill your coffee or chosen drink, make recommendations and make sure you enjoyed the meal. The place looks like a classic diner inside with barstools at the counter and booths to sit at. They have a homemade daily specials board with things like meatloaf, 12 hour pot roast, chicken pot pie, shrimp & grits and fried fish! I have gotten the meatloaf and it was delicious. The mashed potato's were like velvet. I have gotten the Usual Suspects breakfast and it was 2 eggs, choice of biscuit or grits, bacon and potato. I have also ordered the pastrami hash that is incredible!! I have been told by many people that I have to try the pancakes! Absolutely will not eat here again, I was told they were great. Worst place on the island, any place else would have been better. This is my 2nd time trying them. Food is way too overpriced for the small portions you receive. And evidently the specials are not in special because I paid full price. Burger was over cooked, bowl of chicken pot pie was small. Our waitress recommended ordering some gravy with the 3 little pigs sandwich (bacon, ham, sausage, egg, and pimento cheese on a biscuit) and it was sooooo good!!! It is a must order!!! Since I am not really a beach person, one of my favorite activities on a beach vacation is to eat! For whatever reason, one of the things we like to find on vacation is a good breakfast sandwich. The good news is that we found it in Chubs. The bad news is that it took us until Thursday to find it. We ended up going here twice. The first day we got the breakfast melt.
