Service was great. We got our food and drinks quickly. The milkshake was so pretty and delicious. The lobster roll was a good price and it came with coke slaw, which tasted a little bland, some fries, & and a side of chowder or salad. I had the chowder which was creamy and super good. They gave a good amount of lobster and the brioche bun was toasted nicely! Buttery deliciousness. read more

What a great find. Four of us split the fried calamari appetizer which was some of the best we've ever had. Three of us had the warm lobster roll and one had linguine with white clam sauce. Spectacular meal with terrific views and attentive service. Love this place and will be back. read more

Let me start by saying this: Iggy's is a Rhode Island staple and during the summertime, this place is packed with people of all ages. I happened to head here with a group of friends for dinner on a fall night. We wanted seafood and have been here before (or at least to their adjacent restaurant) however last night we did notice something that was very concerning. We sat in the dining room, which as most people explained in previous reviews did have a sort of "senior night" feel to it. The restaurant can't help that. However almost immediately we noticed one gentleman in a Iggy's uniform who was CONSTANTLY overlooking the staff and customers eating. His job seemed to be just that. He was looking at each and every staff member when they approached the table, how they interacted with the customers and then when there was no waitress around to stare at, he would just stare at us! Eating! It was VERY un-welcoming and concerning to us. Was he waiting for someone to screw up? Was he waiting for one of his customers to do something? We were very confused. Then we took a look around the noticed SEVERAL security cameras in the dining room, which sparked another debate: If they do want to watch staff, can't they do it from their office? The whole experience of having a staff member overlooking you and your friends/family while eating was very discomforting. On top of that, it's almost like he was waiting for the staff to screw up. So, we happened to ask the waitress what is going on. She seemed scared to say anything but then mentioned that they ARE indeed watching to see if anybody screws up. One of our friends recalled an incident where a waitress did screw up and dropped a plate and the manager very seriously yelled and screamed at her in the dining room. We were worried that this would happen again. Overall, the food at Iggy's is actually good. The seafood is reasonably priced, and the location is right on the water. However, I felt very uncomfortable with how they treat their staff and for that reason, I'm not sure if we'll return. For a business that makes so much money, I'm not sure why they have to consistently keep an eye on the staff. Who would want to work there with that environment? Iggy's -- stop this. Get new managers who TRUST their employees. Or just watch them from the cameras you have installed. Having someone in the dining room consistently watch people eat and the staff is very uncomfortable! read more

Great service. Great food. Oceanside setting. What more could you want. This is the restaurant in Rhode Island to visit.

One word...YES! First time in town and wanted a lobster roll. Took a jog from an airport hotel (and will UBER back) but the food was spot on. Had the lobster roll with white chowder at the bar. Really good--close to Banger Maine style! Patrick and Nick were awesome. Can't beat the Buck-a-Shuck deal either. I'll be back next time in town. read more

This is a great sit down alternative to just chowder and clam cakes. This has a good variety of dinners. Including lobster and items that are not served in other iggys locations. I did have steamers as my meal. They were good. They do have a full bar which is great. The atmosphere is just as casual ass iggys next door. read more

Iggys food is always worth the wait, they're batter is amazing. I find the new restaurant a bit more comfortable then the original Iggys restaurant. Better tables and seating, they even have a bar. I found it quite warmer inside the restaurant. They offer waitresses. No more having to stand in line next door! I recommend the boardwalk then the original Iggys read more

Food always perfect but this visit almost ruined the experience. My meal was perfect but I was seated under a cold air duct. I asked to be moved and was told the empty tables were reserved. I literally froze and sat on the edge of the booth trying to get warm. The waitress even said they have been having trouble with the air conditioner. Next time I'll reserve a specific table. read more

Stephanie was an excellent waitress. The decor is beautiful. And I can't wait to sit on the gorgeous deck, in warmer weather. My meal was so ad, which without asking was comped. I had shrimp scampi, served in a pile of angel hair pasta. Totally tasteless!! Even the side salad was tasteless. My lunch mate had a fish sandwich, which I was secretly coveting. I also ordered s bloody mary, which was out of this world. read more

I've dined here twice so far. Both times with my dad, who loves seafood just as much as I do. This menu covers a lot of ground- all of the seafood classics (boiled lobster dinner, baked stuffed shrimp, etc) to burgers/sandwiches to Italian entrees. Plenty to choose from. The first time we came here we enjoyed a clams zuppa app with extra bread to sop up all of the delicious broth. So good. We also had bowls of chowder with clamcakes. You really cannot come here without having some chowder. Overall great meal. The second time we dined here we opted for boiled lobster dinners- only $19.99 and so tasty! They kindly cracked our lobsters for us and the potatoes, chowder and corn on the cob that came with the lobster were very good. I would definitely come here with family/friends as I feel like there is something for everyone (even if you don't like seafood) at every price point. Can't wait for the summer, as it looks like there is a nice patio space in the back to enjoy. read more

Here right now, not sure why the place is vibrating. Hoping the food makes up for it. The food and service was excellent. Scrod was cooked perfectly and the chicken marsala was top notch, just like a Federal Hill restaurant. My guess is that the vibrating may have been the heating system. read more

I tried this place for the 1st time Saturday night. I was with a party of around 12 for a birthday. The staff was awesome. They were very attentive and always there to get us anything that we needed. I'll definitely come back again and I can't wait to enjoy the outdoor entertainment this summer. read more

While in RI we definitely wanted seafood and this was a good choice. The calamari was crispy and the lobster roll was filled with large chunks of lobster. I really liked the white clam chowder and my husband liked the red. They have a large menu of seafood dishes that are standard New England fare The service was great. Attentive and quick, but not rushed. I was glad I made reservations since even on this rainy evening the place was busy. In better weather the view of the ocean would be really nice but there was dense fog today. read more

We had lunch there today after stumbling upon Iggy's Boardwalk on Google looking for a waterfront restaurant. We live in Boston and took the hour drive here which we were very happy about. We ate outside, and with the social distancing rules it was really wonderful and peaceful, I can imagine this place is usually slammed on beautiful summer days as today, but it was perfect for what we were looking for today. My husband and I each had a lobster roll, one traditional, one hot buttered, both were wonderful! Prices were great for all you get too! I think what really made our experience great was our server Carla, she went above and beyond to accommodate us. We didn't want to take up our table and have others wait, but we wanted to stay and enjoy the view before the hour drive back and have a drink, she didn't rush us and continued to take wonderful care of us with our drinks (though we didn't abuse much extra time). We will certainly be back, most likely before the social distancing restrictions are over to enjoy the more peaceful, intimate atmosphere, but will also go when things are "back to normal". read more

This place is very good. My wife and I visited on a Sunday afternoon and as expected it was very busy. We wanted to sit outside on that beautiful day but there was an one hour wait. So we settled for the bar with no wait which is more my style anyway. I had the white chowder and whole belly clams. Very very good. They served nice bread with an apple cinnamon butter that was good but I prefer plain butter. Maybe serving both would be a good idea. We will be back! read more

My family and I started going here once they opened for the most part. Consistently good food has us coming back a lot and it doesn't take long either for how busy it can sometimes get. There have been some occasions where the food and service is lacking but for the most part as I've mentioned, it's been consistently delicious. The times when it's bad though could just be the day but when it's bad, it's all around bad. Bad service, bad food, insanely strong drinks, and stale complimentary bread. Although we've had a few occasions like this, it hasn't stopped us from coming back for more! read more

The Baked Seafood Platter was an hugely over-priced major disappointment. The baked scrod was dry and small, the sea scallops were too salty and not sweet at all, the stuffy was burnt, the lobster claws were so small it must have come from an illegal catch, the baked stuffed shrimp were only so-so, and the (not) red potatoes and green beans almondine were overdone. Our server Merissa P. was wonderful, however. But, one comes for the food and hopes for good service. Oh, and the clam cakes had zero clam flavor. read more

Been here a few times now. Drinks are tasty but not too strong. Food is great! Have tried several dishes but my favorite is the hot lobster sandwich and it is full of hot fresh lobster meat! (Served with a side of warm melted butter of course). The desert ice creams are HUGE! I would definitely recommend splitting one with the table. Service is always friendly and they are always hustling to get everyone what they need. A bonus is the bar and fire pit area before or after dinner for an extra drink or two. It's beautiful! read more

The Mussels Giovanni appetizer is to die for. We each get our own order. The fish and chips is also the very best I have had. The fish is buttery and the breading is fried just right. I've been there several times dating as far back as 15 years and just went June 2021. Both times the experience was exactly the same...stellar. You might have to wait in line at times but the food is consistently good and it has a boardwalk beach feel. It makes the actual area better because other than the ocean not much going on down there. Great fries! Plenty of seating around or take to grass areas for picnic. The price is what you would expect to pay for seafood shack food. I wouldn't say expensive considering the quality and compared to other places like it. There are several great spots by the parking area to set up a picnic. Right next door is a decent playground for the kids. At times that can be mobbed but the kids don't care. Just can be hard to keep track of kiddos so keep that in mind. So if you decide to come down to get some ocean air this place is definitely worth grabbing some lunch. read more

We went there yesterday and had a wonderful afternoon. The outside bar was great. The raw seafood was spectacular. We ate dinner around the patio and everything was just great. How do you improve upon the Iggy's Chowderhouse experience? Simple. Turn it into a sit down restaurant with a full bar. That's exactly what Iggy's Boardwalk is. My wife and I decided to take advantage of a free app & mini doughboy basket coupon. We went there for lunch on a Friday during Lent. While there were a lot of people, we were able to get a table right away. The service was very good albeit a little bit slow. It was more than 5 minutes before our waitress came to our table to take our drink order. She was super nice and chatty, so that helped to offset the wait. We started with the fried calamari. You get a generous portion for $8.99. It is served with 3 kinds of peppers and coated in a garlic butter sauce. It could have used a bit more sauce, but the squid itself was very tender. It was of much better quality than the order that you get next door at the Chowderhouse. My wife ordered the baked scrod with roasted potatoes and green beans almondine. I ordered the fish and chips and swapped the cole slaw for the green beans. Both dishes were great. They are priced the same as the Chowderhouse, but the food tasted fresher and less greasy. It makes a big difference when the food is not stuffed into take out containers. Our meals also came with chowder. My wife chose the white while I chose the clear. I'm pretty sure that the clear is not available at the Chowderhouse. It was very good. The mini doughboy basket comes with 6 doughboy that are maybe half the size of the traditional one. They are tossed in the usual sugar and are, what you would expect, Iggy's doughboys. I should also mention that they serve a cinnamon butter with crispy bread while you are waiting for your food. As someone who turns his nose up at regular butter, I have to say cinnamon butter is one of the greatest culinary inventions that I have come across. After this experience, I can say that I would be less inclined to go to the Chowderhouse and more inclined to go to Boardwalk for my next Iggy's craving. One other caveat is that the dining room is very loud when it is full. It's not from music or anything like that. It's just from all of the conversations going on. This is a nice addition to Oakland Beach, and I suspect that I'll be there again soon. read more

My wife and I have gone to Iggy's Boardwalk since it started. It has been consistently good, but slipping as of late. This past Wednesday we took 10 to celebrate a family members birthday. The result was mixed. The service was good but the soups were warm at best and a few of the other meals were not hot. This needs to be corrected as I will think twice about going again. It was a substantial bill and further my wife and I have spent substantial monies over the years for the consistent high quality that we were used to enjoying. However it seems to be declining over recent visits. Please fix this -- it seems like management is getting fat dumb and happy. read more
