She showed me to my table, brought a carafe of water, and welcomed me in. I was quickly welcomed by Sergio, my server, who shared the special and the soup of the day. Once I ordered my soda I took in the ambiance of the bar, new lights, and the rest of the restaurant. It's not a large building but they make every inch count. Now, the reason you're reading this review- THE FOOD. I ordered the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich with a Caesar Salad. The chicken (photo below) was perfectly cooked, topped with hot honey, slaw, pickles, and ranch then placed on a soft brioche bun. The meal was reasonably priced as well at $33 which included tip. I will absolutely be back to the Shanty next time I'm in town.

The home fries were also quite good. My friend had eggs and corned beef hash. She is a huge fan of corned beef hash and was really impressed by how it was served (more elegantly than is typical). The potatoes tasty. Toast comes buttered. There are plenty of sandwich options on the lunch menu with or without fries. My SO chose a fully loaded Philly cheese steak. It's a good size sandwich and I am told it's tasty. The fries are crispy outside, fluffy inside. Everything was served nice and hot. Our server was new and she did a good job. A small ladies room is inside at the end of the counter while a men's room is outside. Feels like a diner this small could have two unisex restrooms instead of making customers go outside in the cold. Plenty of parking in their private lot.
