If you're a nerd in any capacity, even 1%, you will LOVE this place. I came here with my friend and the first thing that caught my eye were the hot dog and burger plushies, followed by the multiple old school arcade games to the left. The longer I looked around, the more cool things I noticed like an air hockey table and figurines throughout. Also, the middle of the condiment holder was a fake (but very real looking) chicken nugget which was unique. They have two big screen TVs and they were showing a football game. We had the RI Food Fights Wiener coupons and this is the first place that had a menu specific to this event. My friend ordered the backyard hot dog and I ordered the Chicago dog with a side of fries. Our order came out after about 10 minutes. The hot dogs were grilled to perfection, pretty thick, long, and juicy. I couldn't tell if they were all beef though. Both the buns were toasted, but the Chicago one came on a bun with poppy seeds. All the toppings were fresh and had just the right amount of each. The fries were simple but very good - crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. Our server was very kind and attentive. This is definitely a hidden treasure. Stopped by the Downstairs for on a recent evening out with friends and I'm happy to report it's absolutely worth the visit! On entry, you're enveloped in fun atmosphere. Lots of retro decor (think Slimer from Ghostbusters, Hulk Hogan pillow buddies, etc). The walls are lined with arcade games... bring your quarters! Whole variety of seating, from tables and chairs to circular booths, and the like. The perfect space to settle in for a bit, especially on a rainy weekend evening. We were greeted immediately and provided with a number of menus... and what a menu! Lots of comfort food options ranging from apps to entrees, and a number of sandwiches and burgers. I was vacillating between the hot dogs and a couple of the chicken sandwich's and ultimately selected the Cool Ranch Ray with grilled chicken, cheddar, bacon, and Ranch dressing. It was delicious! Unfortunately, the fries left something to be desired as they were fairly dried out and a bit tough to get down. Perhaps a bit less time in the fryer could have fixed that. Dessert was a nice cap to the meal with Nutella empanadas. Yum! PB & Jealous drink... divine. Our waiter Chris was moving and grooving... never seeming to stop for a second and always finding time to check in with us. Came to the grand opening of Downstairs. I love the atmosphere and my inner nerd screams with joy. There is arcade games and comfortable sitting area. Waitress and service was fast and friendly. I ordered the Dani's Pork Wingz, Milli's Mozzo Moons, The BigJam, Lavender Lemonade. Wingz were delicious with Mike's Honey sauce. Mozzarella sticks were amazing and tons of cheese.
