Solid 5 Star experience all around. Came for lunch for the first time today and wasn't sure what to expect. Plenty of free parking, we were seated outside immediately. Everybody at the host station was super friendly. Our waitress Leah was awesome. Very friendly, professional, and helpful. The inside bar is beautiful, and they did an amazing job outside with all the landscaping, sand area, it's beautiful. Huge gazebo bar, definitely gave me vacation vibes. Started out with a few cups of chowder. It was delicious but way too many potatoes in my opinion. For my main lunch I got the lobster casserole. I was a little nervous at $38 but it was one of the best meals I've had in a while. The lobster was cooked perfectly, not too much breading, absolutely delicious. And it came with two sides. This was my first visit to Iggy's Boardwalk. I've eaten at Iggy's several times before, but prior to this, I had always ordered at the counter and then eaten at a picnic table by the beach. Let me just say that I was super impressed by the service and food at the Boardwalk Restaurant. Our party of 16 had a reservation and was seated immediately. Although the seating was a little tight, we were happy that they had made the effort to accommodate our large group. Our server was Marissa, and she was absolutely phenomenal! Marissa gave us just the right amount of attention, and was very prompt with getting water and bread on the table. She was super polite and patient with our mixed age party, and she made sure to note all of the special details in everyone's orders. Between the 16 of us, there were many cups of chowder and clamcakes ordered, as well as some baked fish, clams over linguini, fish & chips, potato skins, and a burger with fries. I only heard great comments on the food from everyone, and my potato skins, clamcakes, and Boardwalk Lemonade cocktail were all perfectly cooked, serverd, hot, and were delicious. Marissa was also super efficient with the check and everything on it was correct, which is no small feat when you have a party of 16. Obviously a seafood restaurant isn't gonna have a ton of vegetarian options, but we needed to eat somewhere after a long beach day. Iggy's is right by the Oakland Beach so it's very convenient. They have a sit-down spot (this one) and a more casual order counter, both were absolutely packed. I ended up getting a side of the seasonal vegetables (zucchini and squash) as well as truffle fries. Both pretty standard, well-cooked and seasoned (truffle probably could have been stronger though). Service was friendly, but took some time understandably given the volume of people. Wouldn't really recommend for vegetarians/vegans, but it does the job in a pinch and my friends seemed to enjoy their seafood meals, 7/10 would recommend. read more

Extremely disappointed in the most recent visit to Iggys Boardwalk. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. That was probably the best part of the night. The amount of time it took to get our food was completely unacceptable. Our server was difficult to find, when it was 7:50 and our dinner had not been served I went to the hostess stand to inquire. We got to the restaurant and I put my name in for a table. Wait was 45 min for inside and we said that was fine. The girls said I would get a text when it was ready. 40 min goes by and the waiting area cleared out, didn't get a text but my brother went to check on it just in case. There were two different girls at the booth and they said there wasn't any reservation in my name. I showed them the text. One of their response was "it wasn't us working here so I don't know why, is it under a different name?". If I'm showing you the text and the time it was made, then how would it be under a different name or phone number? Apparently someone there canceled it on their end. She then told us she'd put us back in line and it may be 15 min. I said is outside any faster? She said no it'd be longer. 20 min goes by and my mom went inside because she was upset about waiting over an hour and having out reservation canceled on us for no reason. The next person she spoke to said "you said you wanted inside only". My mom hadn't heard the part of the conversation earlier, but I was told that outside would be a longer wait in all fairness. After my mom said she'd about had it, magically a table was ready. It felt like we were being blamed for someone messing up our reservation. Normally I wouldn't put in a review but clearly somehow the system tonight wasn't working too well, and I just wish there wasn't the attitude of "well it wasn't me". If they couldn't resolve it they could have just gotten a manager at that point. The food and our server were great but that really put a damper on the night. read more

Heard so much about this place and remembered that it was featured in one of the national morning shows for the lobster bomb so I knew it was a matter of time before I was going to visit! The location has a beautiful view right along the coast, but is only about 20 minutes from the airport There's really not a lot near this area so the three Iggy's locations are all right next to each other. Plenty of parking and easy access. I decided to try a sampling of their appetizers and was fortunate enough to arrive during their happy hour so most of the appetizers are at half price. Since calamari is one of my favorite staples, I started with that. The portion size was very generous, although each calamari ring was generally pretty small and thickly battered. I prefer a lighter coating that is more crunchy while this one was pretty soft. I mentioned it to the server and she indicated that I should've requested that upfront and they could've prepared it that way which was nice But why would anyone assume that calamari would come out soft when it's deep-fried, especially with all that extra coating? The oysters tasted fresh, but also were quite small, although they did offer a large portion of cocktail sauce and horseradish! The stuffy's were different and was supposed to be filled with a mixture of breading, clams, and other ingredients, although all I could taste was the thick breading. While it was baked and crispy on top, the stuffing was very soft and almost didn't feel thoroughly cooked through. It tasted pretty blind to me, but apparently was one of the more popular appetizers. Similarly, I ordered the crabcakes, but I believe I actually received the clam cakes which were formed into deep-fried balls. I'm not sure if there was much difference because there was just such a heavy concentration of breading that I did not taste much of the other ingredients. The clam chowder was good, but still a little soupier than what I have grown accustomed to. I generally appreciate a very thick and hearty soup. Their clam chowder had a lot of good ingredients and a fairly complex taste which was great. Definitely tasted some of the clams and would have it again, although I would prefer something a little thicker. The lobster bomb definitely offered a lot of fresh lobster, mostly from claws and knuckles, and didn't feel like there was much from the tail. I like how creative they were in stuffing it all into a toasted bread bowl with lobster bisque! While it was very good, I did notice a high concentration of butter to the point you can visibly see the amount in the second picture. The bread bowl was really a nice touch and tasted great. I'm not sure if it quite lived up to the hype, but I would probably order just the lobster bisque separately and a regular lobster roll in the future. More Dough Boys Please! These were so good and the waitress hooked our table up as we closed down the joint for a company outing. That was the end of the meal and even though I was stuffed, I quickly downed 2 boys without missing a beat! The Lobster Bisque was good and the cracked black pepper contrasted beautifully with the creamy color of the bisque. I need those little bags of oyster crackers for the house to go with my Campbell's Chunky! The star for me was the lobster roll. Hot Lobster Rolls are one of my favorites and this one was pretty good. It had lettuce and didn't have the toasted sides, but it was still a good roll. For drinks, I was in a dark and stormy mood and they went down quick as we were sitting outside and it was a tad warm. Service was excellent, prompt, and friendly, which was unexpected for how busy this place was on a weekday evening. I'd come back again and again, even if it's just for the Dough Boys! Went to Iggy's last evening! I highly recommend making a reservation if you're planning to go on a Friday night--there was quite a wait for a table. Fortunately, we grabbed seats at the bar, where the service was quick and the bartender, Karen, was fantastic! If you visit Monday through Friday, definitely take advantage of their buck-a-shuck special on oysters and littlenecks--they were fresh and absolutely delicious. It was a bit chilly outside, but Iggy's is still a great spot for dinner and a nice stroll afterward. Don't forget to stop by the creamery for ice cream or try their famous doughboys! read more

I'm in rhode island for a few days and ordered some local stuff from here today. I got a lobster roll combo with fries, baked potato and new england clam chowder. I also got crab cakes The Lobster roll was AWESOME, way better than anything I had in massachusetts or new york. Tons of meat, good buttery flavor bread, just enough mayo to add enough flavor without being overpowering and good flavor. Definitely the mvp. Crab cakes and new england clam chowder: meh, crab cakes had too much bread and the clam chowder was too thick. I had better elsewhere. Have in the past loved this place for its food, drinks and atmosphere. We went few days ago and order an appetizer of calamari which was good except too much hot stuff. 2 dinners one baked stuffed shrimp and 1 fish n chips. The 4 very small stuffed shrimp were very good but very small. The description says jumbo but more like mini shrimp. My husband got the fish n chips and thought wasn't that good. More bland. For the price it was just not worth it. Will skip this place. Too expensive for what u get. There are too many other restaurants like Chelo's that offer better for less. read more

Stopped in for lunch on a beautiful winter day. To our surprise they have a winter lunch special menu. Three courses for 15.00! We ate at a high top in the bar with a view of the sound . Came into town for work and and wanted to try some local flavor. The menu was filled with a lot of great options so it was tough to choose. Had to start with some appetizers and try a few things. got some things that they were known for, clam cakes and stuffies. Highly recommend both. Stuffies are Quahog clams, stuffed with everything yummy. Also had to try the soup so opted for the chowder flight which also includes a bisque. These are very tiny and give you a nice sample of each. You will see in the picture. Onto the entrée. At this point, I was already starting to feel full but still needed to try the lobster. Talk about lobster there were so many different options to order from. So ultimately I chose the baked stuffed lobster a pound and a quarter. This was excellent and seems to be the thing to order at looking at others surrounding us. Onto dessert, even though I was so full, had to try something because there was so many options and a lot of them were homemade with Gilbert's ice cream. They are known for doughboys so ultimately I got the doughboy Sundae. this was huge and probably enough for two people, but amazing way to end the meal. The service was good a little slow at times. When we visit family in Warwick, we always debate who has the best clam cakes: Iggy's or Chelo's. We always try both and, in the past, we always liked Chelo's better because they were packed with clams. On this visit though, Iggys' came out on top. The Chelo's clam cakes were dense and mostly breading with few clams. Iggy's were light, packed with clams, and absolutely delicious. Way to go Iggy's! We enjoyed lunch out at the bar with a wonderful view of the water. The mudslides were awesome. We also enjoyed Iggy's steamers and fried fat belly clams. The service at the bar was top shelf. We went on a Friday night thinking we could get a table for three (2 adults with toddler) in less than 30 min wait. Big mistake but that's really our fault. However, always a good sign when the place is busy and very full. We got the cold lobster roll, boardwalk seafood pasta, doughboys, lobster mac & cheese flatbread, and a death by chocolate milkshake. Our server was friendly and did a great job handling the big table. When it comes to Iggy's I'm a red chowder gal. Their red chowder is just SO delicious. It never disappoints. I also tried out the stuffies, which were tasty and super filling. This side of Iggy's has actual dessert and then offers a bag of mini doughboys. They were hot, fresh, and awesome as always. Wait to be seated at the hostess stand. Signs on the door ask that you limit your visit to 90 minutes when it's busy. We chose to sit at the inside bar. There is also an outdoor bar and outdoor seating under a tent by the water beside the indoor dining area. The barkeep set us up w/menus and told us the specials which sound very tasty. The marinated chicken sandwich was tasty but comes with no sauce. Maybe ask what is available? Ketchup salt & pepper were put on the bar for our use. Ketchup and salt were added. The fries on the side were very good. Fresh. The white chowder is very thick. Loaded with small cubes of potato and chopped clams with oyster crackers on the side. The clam cakes were large, well cooked with a good share of clams. Greasy from deep frying, but not overly so and keeps the salt I added in place! The restaurant is clean. Service was friendly. So it goes without saying that the food is delicious. I didn't even realize this place existed. My inlaws said we were going to Iggy's for lunch and I assumed it was the order at the windows and eat at the picnic tables Iggy's. The restaurant is deceivingly spacious and comfortable. My only issue with our lunch was the service was excessively slow, and I was seated right under a vent and fan that blew cold air on me the entire visit. We got the calamari for appetizer (I forgot to take a picture, but that's probably because we were eating it before it was set on the table). I highly suggest the calamari. Great, knowledgeable, courteous service, albeit slightly slow; so be prepared to spend quite a good amount of time here. The ambiance and water views are lovely, though be warned that outdoor seating ceases as closing time (or darkness) draws near. The food is a great representation of the area, and I was pleased to try some things that are not offered where I am from, e.g. clear clam chowder; clam cakes; and stuffed clam bites. However, depth, complexity, and amount of flavor is not consistent across dishes; and some items are excessively heavy. Some items are also not the best prepared in terms of cooking techhique and execution. The item I am particularly disappointed with is the mahi mahi, which lacks any flavor whatsoever and is incredibly overcooked; it is dryer than a dessert. The cole slaw, while of decent quality of ingredients, likewise suffers in execution; being absent any flavor, spice, or discerning traits to make it its own. Prices are likewise a bit hefty, but perhaps not unreasonably so. All in all, a pleasant experience, both for the local and the out-of-towner. Make sure to come out of the way and give this restaurant a try, provided time and opportunity. The clam cakes and lobster roll are among the stars but be wary of how heavy both are. read more

Iggy's came highly recommended to us by a waitress from another local establishment. She said, "The locals love Iggy's! Just be ready to find parking." I recommend valet park, show your receipt to the parking crew and your parking is free. Otherwise, you'll pay $30. Street parking is free for thirty minutes. It fills up fast. Go past thirty minutes and you could get towed or fined. Upon entry, we received a nice, warm welcome. The young lady was able to seat us with a view of the bay. Our male waiter was friendly. He recommended some good New England dishes. My wife ordered the Mobster Ravioli and I ordered the Chowder Flight, which consisted of (from left to right in my photo), Lobster Bisque, New England Clam Chowder, Rhode Island Clear Chowder and Manhattan Chowder. The Lobster Bisque was smooth and creamy with a peachy color. It had a hint of seafood flavor (I couldn't tell if it was lobster). No chunks of meat. The New England Clam Chowder was full of chunks of potatoes and clams. It had a creamy white color. The Rhode Island Clear Chowder had a consistency like chicken soup. It came with potato chunks and clams, but my mind swears it was chicken soup. The Manhattan Chowder was similar to the Rhode Island Chowder, except it was red, probably from tomatoes. Bits of celery and potatoes. Each of the samples came with a fried clam cake. Doughy in texture. I enjoyed the distinct regional tastes of each sample. The Lobster Ravioli included about six pieces of ravioli filled with ko batter paste, doused in a creamy, peachy colored lobster sauce. We finished our meal with some sweet Doughboys, similar in texture to Hawai'i's malasadas. They're plump and warm. You can dip them in a caramel sauce, a fudge sauce or cream cheese with cinnamon. The hostess was a big problem for us. We made a reservation for 5:30 and arrived on time. I asked for a booth and she said "we have a lot of reservations so we will not be able to give you a booth." I completely understand that so I told her that was fine. She walked us into the dinning room and there were two booths not occupied and two tables against the windows also unoccupied. She went to seat us at the only four top table in the center of the dinning room. I said, "Can we please have that table in the corner of the dinning room that is empty." She AGAIN repeated that they had several reservations so this would be our table. So we were seated there by Saquesha, in the middle of the dinning room, after asking for a booth and then asking for any other table around the windows which were open. Then, literally within five minutes of being seated (I am not exaggerating), one of the empty booths and one of the empty tables were seated right after us. One to a table of 4 and one to a table of 2 (we were a table of 3). Then, additionally, within 10 minutes of seating us, the second booth was seated to a table of 2. So within 10 minutes of us being seated for our 5:30 reservation, the other three tables that I asked for instead of our table, were all seated. I can completely understand if one or even two of those reservations had requested those specific tables, but come on. There is no way that all three of those tables had been specifically reserved. So had we showed up simply 5 minutes later, we would have gotten the table that I actually wanted. I mean, come on. Why not give me the one I asked for? You know I'm going to sit there and watch you sit the other three tables within 10 minutes of my seating. I'm so upset with how this was handled that I'm posting this review. It's unacceptable. The food was amazing but that seating situation is why I'm giving a one star review. That's just unfair. We were penalized for being there on time for our reservation. The other 5:30 reservations who came after us were able to get the better tables. That does not make sense. Overall, yeah, I simply cannot recommend a place that would treat their customers that way upon arrival. Sorry. Do better. read more
