really cute vibes at iggys! i love the different options that they have: there's one option of sitting in the main restaurant, one with outdoor seating, one that offers desserts, and one that has lemonade. honestly, i just love the flexibility and the different options depending on what vibe you're going for. what really stood out to me, is the scenery. it has such a beautiful view of the beaches from all the different spots. the restaurant itself has an outdoor view and it's just so stunning. i really enjoyed doing dinner in the restaurant and then being able to step right outside and walk along the shore. service was really good and i did not feel rushed at all. i was with a larger group and had a really good time. got the lentil soup, which was honestly pretty solid and had a lot of flavor. i was pretty satisfied with the portion size too. note: they do not have diet coke but they do have diet pepsi. read more

We visited with friends for lunch and arrived before they opened. There was already a small crowd waiting. A hostess will seat you and during our visit the weather was good and we had the option of inside, outside or bar. We were given menus and a waitress came by after a few minutes to take a drink order. We ordered a variety of foods: fried fish platter, chowder and clam cakes, pasta and baked fish. The food was prepared in a timely manner. Not overly long, not quick. The waitress kept an eye on us and refilled drinks when needed. Everyone enjoyed their meals. No complaints. Parking is in three lots before the building with handicap spots closest to the building. There are a few on street spots available to anyone (not just restaurant guests). They also have a 'take out' window with a video menu on the building. It changes pages quickly so it may take a few rotations to decide. Restrooms inside are at the back and are clean. An ATM is just inside the door along with merch and the specials menu. Iggy's is a RI institution and with the addition of an outdoor bar and picnic tables near the beach there is more room for guests. Still, plan to arrive early or be prepared to wait for a seat. I wanted to really like this place because I've been here before and had a much better experience. My uncle, who was also part of our party of seven, comes here quite often and always loved it, so unfortunately today was a little disappointing. Things started off well. The hostess was very nice and welcoming, and our waitress greeted us right away. However, after taking our drink orders, it took quite a while for her to come back so we could order our meals, and we eventually had to call her over. When she did come back, we found out they were out of the twin lobsters, which three people in our party had wanted, as well as Michelob Ultra beer. It was disappointing to find out about both of those after waiting to order. We ordered the flatbread pizza appetizer special, which took a while to come out and honestly wasn't very impressive. When the bread was brought to the table, we were given five pieces and four butters for a party of seven, so we had to ask for more. Unfortunately, there was also a mix-up with my meal. I ordered chicken Marsala but was brought chicken Francaise instead. When I asked if it was chicken Marsala, the waitress said it was chicken Francaise. I explained that I had ordered Marsala, and there wasn't really an apology or much acknowledgment of the mistake. She offered to bring out the correct meal and said it wouldn't take long, but since our food had already taken quite a while to come out, I decided to just keep the meal I had rather than wait even longer. Some of the other meals were hit or miss as well. One person ordered the fish tacos and she didn't eat more than one bite of them, she only ate the fries. The fish tacos were not good, and the waitress didn't seem to notice that they were essentially untouched. The mussels were described as just okay, while the swordfish and fried clam dinner were both very good. Overall, the service wasn't terrible, but it definitely wasn't as welcoming or attentive as I've experienced here in the past. I completely understand that the waitress was busy, and I don't expect perfect service, but there were several little things throughout the meal that added up and made the experience less enjoyable. Based on today's experience, I'd give it 3 stars. I'm hoping this was just an off day because I've been here before and had much better experiences. This was my first visit to Iggy's Boardwalk. I've eaten at Iggy's several times before, but prior to this, I had always ordered at the counter and then eaten at a picnic table by the beach. Let me just say that I was super impressed by the service and food at the Boardwalk Restaurant. Our party of 16 had a reservation and was seated immediately. Although the seating was a little tight, we were happy that they had made the effort to accommodate our large group. Our server was Marissa, and she was absolutely phenomenal! Marissa gave us just the right amount of attention, and was very prompt with getting water and bread on the table. She was super polite and patient with our mixed age party, and she made sure to note all of the special details in everyone's orders. Between the 16 of us, there were many cups of chowder and clamcakes ordered, as well as some baked fish, clams over linguini, fish & chips, potato skins, and a burger with fries. I only heard great comments on the food from everyone, and my potato skins, clamcakes, and Boardwalk Lemonade cocktail were all perfectly cooked, serverd, hot, and were delicious. Marissa was also super efficient with the check and everything on it was correct, which is no small feat when you have a party of 16. I stopped in late afternoon on a weekday for a snack and I got the chowder soup flight which consists of clear clam chowder which is RI's thing, manhattan clam chowder, New England chowder and lobster bisque. Each little cup is topped with a clam cake. It was the first time for me trying RI's take on chowder and while it might be the healthiest, it is not the tastiest. All tasted really good and I was surprised I enjoyed the clam cakes so much. All said it was a great dish. They also had pistachio cheesecake as a special dessert but when ordered one to go, I was told the last piece was just given out. Pretty poor planning on the special dessert considering they still had a full dinner service ahead of them. Although I was pretty disappointed on the dessert note, I'd still give them 4 stars for the soup. Obviously a seafood restaurant isn't gonna have a ton of vegetarian options, but we needed to eat somewhere after a long beach day. Iggy's is right by the Oakland Beach so it's very convenient. They have a sit-down spot (this one) and a more casual order counter, both were absolutely packed. I ended up getting a side of the seasonal vegetables (zucchini and squash) as well as truffle fries. Both pretty standard, well-cooked and seasoned (truffle probably could have been stronger though). Service was friendly, but took some time understandably given the volume of people. Wouldn't really recommend for vegetarians/vegans, but it does the job in a pinch and my friends seemed to enjoy their seafood meals, 7/10 would recommend. read more

Charged a surcharge using credit card and there is no indication anywhere about this charge. I understand the charge but patrons should be told. Solid 5 Star experience all around. Came for lunch for the first time today and wasn't sure what to expect. Plenty of free parking, we were seated outside immediately. Everybody at the host station was super friendly. Our waitress Leah was awesome. Very friendly, professional, and helpful. The inside bar is beautiful, and they did an amazing job outside with all the landscaping, sand area, it's beautiful. Huge gazebo bar, definitely gave me vacation vibes. Started out with a few cups of chowder. It was delicious but way too many potatoes in my opinion. For my main lunch I got the lobster casserole. I was a little nervous at $38 but it was one of the best meals I've had in a while. The lobster was cooked perfectly, not too much breading, absolutely delicious. And it came with two sides. We always visit Iggy's Boardwalk when we're in Rhode Island. We love to sit at the outside bar when the weather permits. The views are outstanding and the food is always excellent. The bar tenders are always friendly and the service is quick. On this visit, we enjoyed the Calamari, Mussels Giovanni, Clam Cakes, and White Chowder. The calamari was good although slightly overdone. The mussels were outstanding! The mussels were cooked to perfection and the white wine broth was definitely worth dipping some bread (or clam cakes) into. On this visit, we found the clam cakes to be disappointing as they were on the doughy side and there weren't very many pieces of clam. The White Chowder was outstanding. Overall, we enjoy Iggy's and will be back. read more

Chowder tasteless, clam cake had 1 clam, chx parm was very thin with lots of breading and tasteless out of can sauce. Not very good. Wife had chowder, clam cakes, stuffed shrimp, veggies and ice cream. She liked the chowder, clam cakes, veggies and ice cream. The shrimp was raw and she did not eat it, we got a credit. Service was very friendly, patient, and super responsive! Heard so much about this place and remembered that it was featured in one of the national morning shows for the lobster bomb so I knew it was a matter of time before I was going to visit! The location has a beautiful view right along the coast, but is only about 20 minutes from the airport There's really not a lot near this area so the three Iggy's locations are all right next to each other. Plenty of parking and easy access. I decided to try a sampling of their appetizers and was fortunate enough to arrive during their happy hour so most of the appetizers are at half price. Since calamari is one of my favorite staples, I started with that. The portion size was very generous, although each calamari ring was generally pretty small and thickly battered. I prefer a lighter coating that is more crunchy while this one was pretty soft. I mentioned it to the server and she indicated that I should've requested that upfront and they could've prepared it that way which was nice But why would anyone assume that calamari would come out soft when it's deep-fried, especially with all that extra coating? The oysters tasted fresh, but also were quite small, although they did offer a large portion of cocktail sauce and horseradish! The stuffy's were different and was supposed to be filled with a mixture of breading, clams, and other ingredients, although all I could taste was the thick breading. While it was baked and crispy on top, the stuffing was very soft and almost didn't feel thoroughly cooked through. It tasted pretty blind to me, but apparently was one of the more popular appetizers. Similarly, I ordered the crabcakes, but I believe I actually received the clam cakes which were formed into deep-fried balls. I'm not sure if there was much difference because there was just such a heavy concentration of breading that I did not taste much of the other ingredients. The clam chowder was good, but still a little soupier than what I have grown accustomed to. I generally appreciate a very thick and hearty soup. Their clam chowder had a lot of good ingredients and a fairly complex taste which was great. Definitely tasted some of the clams and would have it again, although I would prefer something a little thicker. The lobster bomb definitely offered a lot of fresh lobster, mostly from claws and knuckles, and didn't feel like there was much from the tail. I like how creative they were in stuffing it all into a toasted bread bowl with lobster bisque! While it was very good, I did notice a high concentration of butter to the point you can visibly see the amount in the second picture. The bread bowl was really a nice touch and tasted great. I'm not sure if it quite lived up to the hype, but I would probably order just the lobster bisque separately and a regular lobster roll in the future. Glad I tried it i'm not sure if it's the best place for lobster for me. read more

That was the end of the meal and even though I was stuffed, I quickly downed 2 boys without missing a beat! The Lobster Bisque was good and the cracked black pepper contrasted beautifully with the creamy color of the bisque. I need those little bags of oyster crackers for the house to go with my Campbell's Chunky! The star for me was the lobster roll. Hot Lobster Rolls are one of my favorites and this one was pretty good. It had lettuce and didn't have the toasted sides, but it was still a good roll. For drinks, I was in a dark and stormy mood and they went down quick as we were sitting outside and it was a tad warm. Service was excellent, prompt, and friendly, which was unexpected for how busy this place was on a weekday evening. I'd come back again and again, even if it's just for the Dough Boys! Went to Iggy's last evening! I highly recommend making a reservation if you're planning to go on a Friday night--there was quite a wait for a table. Fortunately, we grabbed seats at the bar, where the service was quick and the bartender, Karen, was fantastic! If you visit Monday through Friday, definitely take advantage of their buck-a-shuck special on oysters and littlenecks--they were fresh and absolutely delicious. It was a bit chilly outside, but Iggy's is still a great spot for dinner and a nice stroll afterward. Don't forget to stop by the creamery for ice cream or try their famous doughboys! read more

I also got crab cakes The Lobster roll was AWESOME, way better than anything I had in massachusetts or new york. Tons of meat, good buttery flavor bread, just enough mayo to add enough flavor without being overpowering and good flavor. Definitely the mvp. Crab cakes and new england clam chowder: meh, crab cakes had too much bread and the clam chowder was too thick. I had better elsewhere. We got to the restaurant and I put my name in for a table. Wait was 45 min for inside and we said that was fine. The girls said I would get a text when it was ready. 40 min goes by and the waiting area cleared out, didn't get a text but my brother went to check on it just in case. There were two different girls at the booth and they said there wasn't any reservation in my name. I showed them the text. One of their response was "it wasn't us working here so I don't know why, is it under a different name?". If I'm showing you the text and the time it was made, then how would it be under a different name or phone number? Apparently someone there canceled it on their end. She then told us she'd put us back in line and it may be 15 min. I said is outside any faster? She said no it'd be longer. 20 min goes by and my mom went inside because she was upset about waiting over an hour and having out reservation canceled on us for no reason. The next person she spoke to said "you said you wanted inside only". My mom hadn't heard the part of the conversation earlier, but I was told that outside would be a longer wait in all fairness. After my mom said she'd about had it, magically a table was ready. It felt like we were being blamed for someone messing up our reservation. Normally I wouldn't put in a review but clearly somehow the system tonight wasn't working too well, and I just wish there wasn't the attitude of "well it wasn't me". If they couldn't resolve it they could have just gotten a manager at that point. The food and our server were great but that really put a damper on the night. read more

Came into town for work and and wanted to try some local flavor. The menu was filled with a lot of great options so it was tough to choose. Had to start with some appetizers and try a few things. got some things that they were known for, clam cakes and stuffies. Highly recommend both. Stuffies are Quahog clams, stuffed with everything yummy. Also had to try the soup so opted for the chowder flight which also includes a bisque. These are very tiny and give you a nice sample of each. You will see in the picture. Onto the entrée. At this point, I was already starting to feel full but still needed to try the lobster. Talk about lobster there were so many different options to order from. So ultimately I chose the baked stuffed lobster a pound and a quarter. This was excellent and seems to be the thing to order at looking at others surrounding us. Onto dessert, even though I was so full, had to try something because there was so many options and a lot of them were homemade with Gilbert's ice cream. They are known for doughboys so ultimately I got the doughboy Sundae. this was huge and probably enough for two people, but amazing way to end the meal. The service was good a little slow at times. Stopped in for lunch on a beautiful winter day. To our surprise they have a winter lunch special menu. Three courses for 15.00! We ate at a high top in the bar with a view of the sound . Our server, the bar tender was attentive and very knowledgeable of the menu and choices. I chose a cup of clam chowder with two clam cakes for my first course. Our server was friendly and did a great job handling the big table. When it comes to Iggy's I'm a red chowder gal. Their red chowder is just SO delicious. It never disappoints. I also tried out the stuffies, which were tasty and super filling. This side of Iggy's has actual dessert and then offers a bag of mini doughboys. They were hot, fresh, and awesome as always. We went on a Friday night thinking we could get a table for three (2 adults with toddler) in less than 30 min wait. Big mistake but that's really our fault. However, always a good sign when the place is busy and very full. We got the cold lobster roll, boardwalk seafood pasta, doughboys, lobster mac & cheese flatbread, and a death by chocolate milkshake. That's overdoing the bit. * at the risk of never getting more than 6 littlenecks with my linguine again, they tend to be more generous in winter when demand is lower. The wait staff and chefs are the highlights. Hannah, always alert, accommodating and professional. Hannah may be better suited for a 4-5 star restaurant, Kaylee is the perfect hostess. Management would be wise to retain and reward her. and McKenzie steady , efficient and always pleasant and polite . a perfect fit for this casual setting. There are others. all very good.
