Great, knowledgeable, courteous service, albeit slightly slow; so be prepared to spend quite a good amount of time here. The ambiance and water views are lovely, though be warned that outdoor seating ceases as closing time (or darkness) draws near. The food is a great representation of the area, and I was pleased to try some things that are not offered where I am from, e.g. clear clam chowder; clam cakes; and stuffed clam bites. However, depth, complexity, and amount of flavor is not consistent across dishes; and some items are excessively heavy. Some items are also not the best prepared in terms of cooking techhique and execution. The item I am particularly disappointed with is the mahi mahi, which lacks any flavor whatsoever and is incredibly overcooked; it is dryer than a dessert. The cole slaw, while of decent quality of ingredients, likewise suffers in execution; being absent any flavor, spice, or discerning traits to make it its own. Prices are likewise a bit hefty, but perhaps not unreasonably so. All in all, a pleasant experience, both for the local and the out-of-towner. Make sure to come out of the way and give this restaurant a try, provided time and opportunity. The clam cakes and lobster roll are among the stars but be wary of how heavy both are. read more

The hostess was a big problem for us. We made a reservation for 5:30 and arrived on time. I asked for a booth and she said "we have a lot of reservations so we will not be able to give you a booth." I completely understand that so I told her that was fine. She walked us into the dinning room and there were two booths not occupied and two tables against the windows also unoccupied. She went to seat us at the only four top table in the center of the dinning room. I said, "Can we please have that table in the corner of the dinning room that is empty." She AGAIN repeated that they had several reservations so this would be our table. So we were seated there by Saquesha, in the middle of the dinning room, after asking for a booth and then asking for any other table around the windows which were open. Then, literally within five minutes of being seated (I am not exaggerating), one of the empty booths and one of the empty tables were seated right after us. One to a table of 4 and one to a table of 2 (we were a table of 3). Then, additionally, within 10 minutes of seating us, the second booth was seated to a table of 2. So within 10 minutes of us being seated for our 5:30 reservation, the other three tables that I asked for instead of our table, were all seated. I can completely understand if one or even two of those reservations had requested those specific tables, but come on. There is no way that all three of those tables had been specifically reserved. So had we showed up simply 5 minutes later, we would have gotten the table that I actually wanted. I mean, come on. Why not give me the one I asked for? You know I'm going to sit there and watch you sit the other three tables within 10 minutes of my seating. I'm so upset with how this was handled that I'm posting this review. It's unacceptable. The food was amazing but that seating situation is why I'm giving a one star review. That's just unfair. We were penalized for being there on time for our reservation. The other 5:30 reservations who came after us were able to get the better tables. That does not make sense. Overall, yeah, I simply cannot recommend a place that would treat their customers that way upon arrival. Sorry. Do better. read more

We took a ride to sit out in the gazebo bar like many Sunday afternoons no wait seating but it was full! So we got seated right away anyway under the outside patio tent. The person made the shrimp cocktail into hearts which was fun. Service was great as usual & the food was great we ordered pretty simple small dinners. Great breeze by the water you can walk around after in the beach but it's all under construction in Oakland beach. It's a great alternative than driving to Narragansett. read more

As a Warwick born a raised kid, Iggy's has been my favorite place to go for chowder and clam cakes for decades, but in this indoor location, they also have a full menu of other favorites as well, so you don't have to be tied down to just the traditional Iggy's fare. Along with a large number of seafood options, there are also classic American and Italian dishes as well. You'll find something to enjoy on the deep menu. I always go with the red chowder and it is excellent. Hearty, delicious broth, plenty of stock. You can go wrong. The clam cakes are awesome. Iggy's has been making these forever, so there's no going wrong here. Get a bowl of chowder and three clam cakes and you will be just full enough to have a couple of mini doughboys for dessert. All the best of the old school Iggy's with sit down dining, great service and views of the bay and the ocean. You can see the Jamestown and Newport bridges from here while you enjoy your old, or new favorites. We were a party of 5 on Sunday 3/22, Food was not worth the price, Fish & Chips were cold, steamed clams full of dirt, had a bowl full of mud when done. And to top it off, our Waiter had the nerve after paying a check for over $240.00 to walk over to the table and ask for his tip. We were still sitting doing business with the people at our table and was going to give him his tip when ready to leave. Thought that was rude as we always hand tip to them upon departure. We were not going to skip out on a tip, it would have been a better tip if he just waited until we finished our drinks. I believe this Iggy's is surviving on the echo of its reputation twenty years ago. My family and I went one hot, sultry evening to avoid having to prepare dinner, and the experience was so disappointing I wish I had prepared dinner. I ordered a whole clam plate that, given its price, I assumed came with fries; nope. The clams were bits and pieces with two whole bellies and small. My daughter and wife ordered clam cakes and chowder, and did not finish the chowders as it was too salty. Given the fact we paid $75 for this as well as drinks, I felt as though we were fooled. Stopped in for dinner after touring the Mansions in Newport. Better prices and better food. We had pretty good food for the evening. See our meals. Great clam chowder, included a salad, plus we had three coleslaws betwee n us. Dishes were really fresh and good. Clam fritters were just breading. Wonderful service though. A really fun 7 Fishes Italian Wine Dinner at Iggy's Boardwalk last night! Out on the enclosed back patio, about 100 people - 10 at a table. We had a great group of people - everyone was talkative & engaging. Amuse bouche: calamari pizza bites & Gooseneck Prosecco. It was a white pizza with fried calamari. A little odd but it worked. First course: Trio of Small Bites - fritto misto di mar with fried pepperoncini, baked cherrystones giovanni & snail salad bruschetta paired with Gooseneck Prosecco. It was fun to get an entire plate of these appetizers. Everything was delicious. Surprised at how many people at the table said they had never had snail salad. Second course: clear seafood chowder topped with a mini clam cake paired with Gooseneck Sauvignon Blanc. Iggy's is known for their chowda & this was a fun Rhode Island version with lots of different kinds of seafood included along with the potatoes. Third course: grilled shrimp panzanella salad paired with J. Lohr Arroyo Vista Chardonnay. A love a great panzanella salad in the summer with fresh tomatoes & basil - this was just okay. It was A LOT of bread which needed more crunch before adding the dressing. The grilled shrimp were awesome - I wish there was more of it - along with the one piece of fresh mozzarella. I like the addition of the arugula. Fourth course: cavatti tossed with shrimp, lobster, scallops, chopped clams & mussels paired with Decoy Cabernet Sauvignon. This was a pretty presentation with the lobster claw on top. For me, the pasta was perfectly al dente - others complained that it was undercooked. The star of this dish was the spicy red broth! Fifth course: salmon al cartoccio over roasted root vegetables paired with Mondavi Napa Pinot Noir. Delicious! Who knew salmon paired well with sweet potatoes?!?! It was easily my favorite course. Dessert course: doughboy tiramisu paired with espresso martini shooter. You expect to easily slice through a piece of tiramisu but either the doughboys made it tough or it was still slightly frozen. I tried to get into the piece several different ways but left almost all of it on my plate. The guy to my right ate the whole thing! All in all, a lovely evening at a great local restaurant with a lot of fun Warwick people at our table! read more

I was in Rhode Island during the holidays and visited Iggy's for the first time with my guest. It was cold and raining so it wasn't busy but I'm sure during the summer the place gets busy. There are 2 locations next to each other they have a fast food type set up and a full service restaurant with a bar next door which is where we visited. Their menu is large but I ordered a signature Bloody Mary which was really good and started with their clam cakes which is one of their signature items. The clam cakes were light fluffy and had great flavor. Afterwards I ordered a hot lobster roll on the traditional roll which was good as well. Our server was excellent she was on top of everything and we never had to wait for anything. Overall a 4 stars read more

My husband and I are regular customers at this restaurant and for the most part we always have a pleasant experience, from the service to the food. However, yesterday afternoon was the first time I had an unpleasant experience. My sister and I stopped at the gazebo bar around 11ish for a drink. Despite the fact that the bumble bees got in the way and fell in our drinks numerous times (which to a certain extent is to be expected being outdoors), however, the bartender (an older lady) was incredibly dismissive and rude throughout our time there. She never acknowledged our presence and never once stopped to check on how we were doing with our drinks, which peripherally she saw, as my drink was pushed to the edge because I was not happy with it. Finally, I got tired of being ignored and I searched for a manager, Michelle, who was incredibly pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately, when she arrived to help us, out of nowhere the bartender pretends to acknowledge us , but by that time we were done with her rudeness, we also overheard her lying to her manager about the interaction (she stated that I had a mood when I returned my first drink because I did not like the way it tasted). This was true all except the mood part. I was very pleasant with the first bartender (a young lady who was also bartending on the inside) initially returned my drink and made me another , which unfortunately turned out to be way too sweet. Either way, I did not complain or create a scene so I could not understand why the bartender (older lady) took offense to me asking for another drink. What started out as a beautiful spring afternoon ended badly due to her attitude, which I hope got addressed at some point. I will be back to eat at this restaurant, however it is unacceptable to be treated as if you don't exist when we are the ones paying for service. It's considered common sense when you work in a seafood restaurant and live in the Ocean State to have broth to clean your steamers. Nobody wants to eat mud! Just wow! I finally found him and we waited a long time for our server to come. When she did she didn't introduce herself, her name was Sarah, took our drink order and also took our food order. What a pleasant surprise. We found this place while searching YELP for a place to eat on the water in Rhode Island. This place did not disappoint. We had the seafood tower which consisted of oysters, little necks, shrimp, and lobster. How delicious!!! Then we had lobster rolls that came with a cup of soup, fries and coleslaw. Yummy! Came here for lunch, and it did not disappoint. I had the calamari as an appetizer, and it was perfectly done. Super tender and crunchy. For my entrée, I had the lobster bomb with a side of truffle Parmesan fries. It was exactly what I was hoping for. The lobster bisque is just perfect, and you get plenty of lobster meat. We attended this restaurant on October 8 . There were very few patrons. I ordered a seltzer water. It went from the bartender to the server. well, I thought they made a mistake because it was flat. I then ordered a diet Pepsi after bringing it to her attention. It was not carbonated at all. She dance with me a diet Pepsi, which is flat as well, so when she came by again, my husband and I brought it to her attention so I said I would like another diet Pepsi. I waited about 30 minutes and the diet Pepsi she served me was also flat. I don't understand how the bartender or the server cannot notice this. So I was told by the server that I only had one side it used to be when you ordered an entrée super salad came with it and did not count as a side . After spending the afternoon in Eastern CT, this was a perfect weather day to drive to Warwick, catch a sunset and check out the Iggy's. As we hung out at the sea wall, we noticed a continuous line at Iggy's takeout, but we opted for the boardwalk restaurant. We were lucky to only have a moderate wait for an outside table, so we could enjoy the weather. Bread with a cinnamon butter came out (though I was hoping for the doughboys the place next door is famous for!) For entrees, I went with surf and turf-- 3 3oz filet medallions and half a lobster (literally half, cut the long way down the middle!) with a loaded baked potato and corn on the cob. Filet was done to my liking, lobster had a great buttery crumb coating, potato might have been a bit overdone, corn was tasty and buttery. Hubby had the salmon with rice pilaf and seasonal veggies. Done cajun style, it was perfectly cooked! Portions were on point, very filling. Our waitress, Brynne, was very nice, no issues with service at all. Wish we had room for dessert!
