The job turned out amazing. I realize I'm speaking about an attic, but every bit of the old insulation was removed, new insulation was installed and Ken made the point to seal all points around lights and fans that penetrate the ceiling. He also added several upgrades including one to fasten the gas line to my HVAC until to ensure it was safe and secure. When that day arrived, I waited and AKK never showed up. I called and Rosa said she canceled our appointment because we did not confirm via text. She then read back the number she wrote down and it was the wrong number. I asked of they confirm or verify before they cancel and she blamed me that I didn't answer the text - that I did not receive - because she wrote down the wrong number. They also had my spouses number and never texted or verified with them either. Afterwards, I very respectfully asked for painter recommendations in a local group and the owner began blaming me for bad mouthing his company online, that they are great and that I came to his neighborhood to speak badly - never once did he message or apologize for any issue, he was extremely accusatory and completely unprofessional. We chose a very neutral paint color and Rick was quick to respond if we had a question throughout the process. The crew showed up to begin paining each day in a timely manner. They were very kind and professional. It did take them a couple of days longer than Rick had estimated, however the attention to detail they show when taping off everything was so detailed that they didn't miss a single thing. The paint job they did also was superb. Our home is 28 years old, but they made the interior look brand new after completion. We also met the field supervisor and the owner came over several times to check on the work being done. They cleaned up after finishing the job better than they found things. If you are looking for a company to provide a stress free job, this is the company to hire.

I'm a recent hire at McKown and was let go after a month due to "punctuality" I was told,…read moreapparently because I was 18 minutes late on a single workday 4 days previously. Other employees that have more tenure, were late or missed entire days more than once in that month. I was told management is doing Cocaine and the crew is smoking weed on job sites when there is a *company--no smoking" policy. But I was let go, due to being 18 minutes late one day, and I also have years more experience than the entire crew combined. So this is my honest review of McKown as an employer. They provide great service to customers, believe that, but if you want to work at McKown, be cautious of a heightened political business environment, and a lot of gossip and backstabbing from my honest observations. I come from a family of General Contractors and business owners, and this seemed very shady to me. I was blindsided. It feels hypocritical and two-faced, but business is business. I shook hands and walked away without disgruntlement, but if you hold me accountable for that reason, then please don't make me the only man with the finger pointed in his face when there are greater offenses being committed. That is all I'm saying really. Great company, just somewhat dysfunctional, and way too political and fickle. Also, they are not BBB accredited and I cannot find a contractors license anywhere online.
