There's a breakdown somewhere between the folks who schedule the work, the folks who bill, and the folks who come out to complete it. I kind of just want my money back at this point since I'm tired of going through this process every time. I hope they figure it out.

Nothing wrong with the chimney, just the cap needs a facelift. Also, sales rep was unprofessional, deriding the roof job, telling me that the roofers did not use synthetic felt or over-ice water shield: both of these are clearly in the original contract. And criticized the stepped flashing (claiming that hem sealed flashing is superior and stepped flashing is a downgrade): did some digging, and stepped flashing is recommended for my particular application. An estimate came to me: the link did not work. After repeated asks, a screen shot came to me. The estimate was very pricey.

I recently had my roof replaced by Gilpin Roofing. This was my second time using this company.. I…read morehad no complaints about my first experience and often recommended them to friends who were looking for roofers. My second experience was not so positive. After contracting for a specific price, I was surprised when the invoice came in at $310.00 higher. Their contract specifically stated that any changes that resulted in additional costs would have to be signed off by both parties in writing. I was never informed of any additional charges. When I questioned it, the company gave me an inane response, telling me that this only applied to changes before the job started and the need for additional materials was only discovered after the existing roof was removed. Additionally, they stated, it was only a small percentage of the overall cost of the job so they did not have to get my approval for the upcharge. They did not honor the policy in their own contract. I am dissatisfied with that and their response. Also, I am still picking up nails which they were supposed to clean up. After the job was completed, they came to my house unannounced and and opened the gate and went into my back yard. My dog was outside and fortunately he did not choose this day to run away. I would think a professional with many years in this business would know better. I will not use or recommend this company again.
