I've been going there for my haircut for about a year now, I am very happy with it every time. I have thick hair and a lot of it, it's really hard to find a stylist who knows how to cut thick hair! The hair stylist I go to is Ping and she does really good job on layering out my hair so it does feel so heavy. My husband went there for haircut also, the other stylist did a good job on him too! This salon is clean and has good lighting inside, they keep things organized and minimal, it's not fancy like others, but they really provide quality work. Even though I live close and frequent this area, I found this place by accident shortly after they opened. It is a small shop run by Asian women, at least that is all I have seen in my three visits. Each time I have been there, I have found the hairdressers to be very friendly and personable. They charge $14 for a men's haircut with no frills. Eyebrow trims are included. They also have a loyalty card that allows you a free haircut after 12 are purchased. They pay attention to detail and I have never felt that they rushed me out of there. read more

One word, "Hack"! Two words,"Thinning shears"? Didn't know barbers still use them. I have thick hair at 64 years old, and I like my thick hair, she didn't ask , just started chopping away with thinning shears. I told her to begin with to leave it long in front and top. My son got a haircut here by Julie. It went great! My son is 1 yr old. He's had 3 haircuts before coming here. The 1st one went well b/c it was through a friend. However, she works far so I had to find a place closer to home. The next 2 times we tried a different place. It was a nightmare. He kept crying throughout the whole thing. When we'd get home, I noticed some spots were uneven which was even more frustrating since he had a difficult time already. So this time I decided to try somewhere new. We had a really good experience at Ideal Cuts! Julie worked well with my son. She knew when to stop cutting and would play peek-a-boo with him or make funny noises when he started to show signs of fussiness. I was so relieved that he didn't cry at all. I also appreciated how she took her time to make sure the cut was good. We'll definitely come here for his next cut! read more

Great haircut. They haven't been super busy when I go so I've been loving that. The inside doesn't have the greatest decor but the staff does a great job with my haircut. And the price is much cheaper than I am used to which is a bonus. I tip extra however. :) read more

I made an appointment by phone the day before. I turned up 5 minutes early and was followed in by another customer. The other customer was immediately taken to the shampoo station and I was seated at the work station. I was told to wait for 15 minutes while she attended to the other customer. 50 minutes later I had her attention. Yes 50 minutes. Many times I was thinking of leaving but the assistant was telling me she would't be long. I selected the hair colors and was given the highlight color with household aluminum. The removal of the household aluminum was very uncomfortable, in fact it hurt, due to it not being a salon grade aluminum. Then another dye was applied to the whole head of hair including the highlights. I had only half the head of highlights because to have the whole head done would be double their price. I waited at the sink for the dye to develop then went to the chair for a cut and style. The lady then proceeded to chew gum and all I could hear was her chewing right in my ear. I found their tardiness very unprofessional, their technique of applying hair dye also unprofessional and the chewing of gum when with a customer. I will not be returning to this salon. read more

We recently moved to folsom from OC as my husband's work relocated, and we always having trouble find a good barber for my husband. This place is hard to find if you search for "hair cut" on GOOGL/AAPL map, but our friends recommended this place and we tried it out this Saturday ---- very spacious place, very friendly people, very nice hair cut, very affordable pricing and what's most important, I did not remember seeing my husband happier about his hair cut before --- the barber worked with him for about ~5min discussing about his head shape, hair thickness etc and they never show any sign of rusing or impatient as my husband's hair cut took about 1.5 times as of the other customers --- and a good tip they deserve I believe. read more

My husband goes here so we decided to take our 2 y/o. He didn't cry at all like he had at another shop we had been going to. The other shop gave him an awful cut and we had to get it fixed. Julie took her time and interacted with him and he was smiling the whole time. The best cut he has had so far! Little one keeps asking for when he can get his haircut again.
