Very disappointed with this salon. The wait was long but understandable since it was busy. The rude and disrespectful part was letting someone skip the line while others have been waiting patiently. The price-to-quality ratio is good. While they don't always do a perfect job, they consistently give me better haircuts compared to other places. If I were to get my haircut at a barber shop, I'd pay close to or even double the price, but I don't feel like I get double the quality or value at a barber shop. I am sorry to say that my favorite hair stylist Mai, have moved on to another location down the street. While they have many other hair stylists here, I have decided to move on to expert haircuts on 705 e bidwell next to UPS store where Mai is now. Mai is very friendly and she took me in when I was a haircut orphan moving to Folsom from Bay Area. I've had Kim Jung Un cut from a Korean lady, in rancho, and a borderline abusive haircut from the guy here in Finecuts, but the third try the charm! It's been 3 years since I've let anyone else touch my hair and she's done a great job with my son since he was 2 years old as well. We just went to expert haircuts today and it's the same "auntie Mai" for my son and I! What's even better is they have toys for my son to play with! Hair cut prices here have also risen to $12 while it's still less than $10 in the new location! read more

This is probably one of the top 3 hair stylist places in Folsom, Lan, Kelly, I know the others but just can't spell the names so I wont butcher them. They are great people, down to earth. I think the Chinese culture all have courtesy classes in their formative years. Crazy nice people. The lady that cuts my hair, I can't say enough good about her. It is probably the best price in Folsom, 12 bucks,, and they all know how to cut and style hair. I can get a body wax there if needed, they offer male and female. WHen I get my hair cut the stylist makes a great effort to talk to me, she can speak english, I cannot speak Chinese, doubt I ever learn it, her learning english puts her a step up on me.. Despite clear instructions, the barber gave me a bald cut, which I was totally surprised (my plan was a moderate cut not a full bald). However, yes hair will grow in months, but how they treat the communication issue was like out of kindergarden. 1. Instead of apology, the barber blamed customer for "clearly instruction of what they are following" and it were totally what customer needed. 2. Instead of trying to resolve, the barber made fun of it and tried to make things worse by cutting more despite i tried to stop both vocally and physically, which in some state like texas is considered guity of assault. 3. Instead of trying to alleviate the situation by any curtesy, I get paid in full before finalising steps, plus of course, tipping. I highly do not recommend to this place not because of technical issues, but how they handle diversity of customers and carelessness to their business. read more

Hi-ya! This hair salon has been in business for a long time and they've been doing it right. The cuts are pretty darn good from nearly all the folks there with a single exception. My rating excludes that individual because we typically don't get cuts from that individual. The cuts are fast, fades are really clean and the time it takes to get in and out is super fast. All the ladies there are solid and provide great service. Clean salon, staff are mindful of keeping things sanitary, and prices are really good. read more

What do you expect from an 8.00 haircut? I took my 4 year old son here today and pretty much got what we paid for. There is definitely a language barrier in this shop -- but the message still seemed to get across. We asked for a # 1 on the sides with a scissor cut on top . The fade line on my son's head wasn't blended in as much as I would like, but it didn't look terrible. The lady was finished in less than 15 minutes- which is about how long my son can sit still for a cut. I would have liked to see the stylist pay attention to detail a little more. For example, she could have dusted all those little loose hairs off his face and neck better . The poor kid was itching afterward. Bottom line, this place is OK if you don't really care about quality. If you are looking for a cheap and fast cut- this place is for you. Don't expect much and you won't be disappointed. read more

I would not recommend this place at all. My wife recently got a haircut there after seeing how good of a job they did on mine and our sons hair but unfortunately they butchered her hair, charged her almost three times the price I paid for mine and repeatedly demanded a tip when we paid. read more

You may be better off cutting your own hair. Guy doesn't speak much English, or if he does, he certainly does not talk. Have had my hair cut there 3 times, this will be the last. I am a guy, my haircut is so simple I can explain it to a new haircutter with minimal skills or training and they nail it. This guy.... Ho boy. Where to begin, uneven fade, uneven on top ( is it hard to make hair all the same length for a barber?) , spots of uncut hair near the ears. Cut things way too short, when I specifically asked not to. Even funnier, to illustrate my point, guy behind me asks for my barber's haircut. You know, the one he presumably gave himself, short all around, slight fade in sides, jar head cut. Chinese guy couldn't understand him, when he did, he could not explain where or how his hair was cut, much less do it. Good luck buddy! So, here is what I have learned: don't go when anyone else does. First time he cut my hair, did a decent job, took the time, and the guy can cut a decent fade. THE second a new customer shows up, he begins hurrying to get you out of the chair and I to next guy, so he slips up YOUR haircut in some fashion. Good luck getting no one to walk in, haircuts are 8 bucks. You heard right. 8, ocho, eight. Cheap. And you get exactly what you pay for, no matter how much you tip, he WILL mess it up the next time too. I fixed my haircut, and he is raising prices. What's the difference between an $8 haircut and a $20 haircut? Twelve bucks! This is my barbershop. They do a very good job. Several other reviews have mentioned an issue with language. I agree there is an issue with language as the people working in the shop are Vietnamese. However they do understand me when I tell them how I wish to have my hair cut. The cast of performers consists of a husband and wife, who are both barbers and a third person who I believe is an employee. All three of the barbers do an excellent job cutting my hair. There aren't any model airplanes dangling from the ceiling, nor will you be offered a shot of whiskey at the end of your haircut. However, when you walk out your haircut will look the same, and you'll have 12 extra dollars in your pocket. Note that I get a one dollar discount because I am a senior. If you are under 60 your haircut will cost nine dollars, resulting in a mere $11 savings over a $20 haircut. read more

You get what you pay. For $12.50, it's not bad. Don't tell your customer's "Ok? Ok?" And hurry them out the door. Probably won't ever go back and would recommend it for anyone else. But if your a bind a need a last minute haircut, $12.50 is not a bad price for a quick buzz. But you probably won't get the haircut you are looking for. read more

I've been coming here for years and this is the best haircut on a budget in folsom. They get through everyone quickly and it's very clean. Not sure if this is a good thing or bad thing but they're always slammed, so there's a 10 to 15 minute wait time whenever you come here. Just be prepared for that. worst for waxing !!! I was just in the area, and i was in need for waxing so i just walked in the salon and asked if they do arm and leg waxing or not? and the lady said yes. so i just waited there till my turn. When my turn came lady again asked me so i said arm and leg waxing and she was surprised to hear that. Then she took me to chair and she said i cant wax my legs because i was wearing a jeans. then i said ok just for my arms. Then she examined my hands and said she cant do it then again somehow she decided to do it. and she did it without removing hair properly. In entire waxing she was in hurry not comfortable like she was doing it for first time...and that made me uncomfortable too... One of the "stylists" ruined my hair .. she trimmed one side higher than the other, and by the time I caught the mistake it was too late to fix. She also left a chunk of hair uncut at the back - and worked extremely fast the whole time as if she was late for something. NEVER GOING BACK. read more

First thing I say to the woman is say do not cut the sides, I'm growing it out for it to blend better...what does she do? Takes the clippers right up the sides. Practically shaves my head. The line up in the front is way off! She takes the clippers really hard against your scalp. She thinks it doesn't hurt. No tip left! Not deserved! Lesson learned!
