Made appointment's for my daughter and I and mentioned on the phone she would be there for children's services. When we checked in they asked my daughter's age and I said she was 10. Nothing else mentioned by them. I go to pay and they charged me the normal full price for her pedicure (whatever, not a huge deal) but what really got me was $20 to have her fingers painted. No polish removal, no manicure. Just polish. I asked the front desk if that was a typo and they said due to her being 10 years old she pays adult pricing. TWENTY DOLLARS for a child to have her nails painted is absolutely freaking absurd. It's one thing not to notify me prior to starting the appointment that she didn't qualify for children's services but it's another to think that $20 for nail polish for a kid (or adult for that matter) is acceptable. read more

I made an appointment for 2:00 pm i got there 5 minutes early and still had to wait 15 minutes just to get seated with someone, two people walked in with no appointment right when i walked in and got seated before me. Then the lady that did my nails did a horrible job! Sadly had one of the worst pedis ever :( As a service provider myself, I do my best to be patient and kind, and to speak up when needed. It took 2 full hours for a regular polish pedi. It kept getting smudged by multiple nail techs touching it. At one point I had 8 layers of polish on one toe. I expressed that I was unhappy, and they tried to resolve the issue multiple times. Services by Lily and Eva were stellar. Lily gave me the most beautiful pedicure ever and Eva's manicure with a builder gel fill came out flawless- not thick, just perfect and very natural looking. The facilities were very clean and sanitary. The color options were quite literally endless, I had a hard time making a decision. Every employee that walked by smiled- and you could tell Lily and Eva were happy doing their craft. The establishment is not cheap, but I didn't leave feeling robbed- I love my nails. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I felt this experience needed to be shared. My visit to this salon was very disappointing. The staff seemed rushed and not attentive to detail. My nail tech left to work on another customer, leaving me for about 30 minutes. When he finally returned and began working on my nails again, the nail dip he was using was causing a burning sensation on my natural nails. I mentioned this to him and he replied "Oh that's normal". I have had this service done before elsewhere and I have never experienced a burning sensation and so intense as I did when he was doing them. My nails were uneven, and the polish could have been done better. Super happy that they were able to fit the 3 of us in for last minute pedicures. My friends just did a level 3 pedicure with no polish for $55.00 - which came with everything and hot stones. Super comfy. Don't be shy and let them know how to adjust the temperature. And woah they gave us shoulder warm compresses. It was sooooo comfortable. I did level 3 with gel ($71) and brought my own little Sanrio sticker and Tiffany was oh so nice to apply it for me. I had coco white gel polish. Tiffany is one of the few nail techs that doesn't paint over the line, nor clump the polishes. She did a really phenomenal job because milky white is challenging to paint, as well. I usually visit the salon once a month with my two daughters and spend anywhere from $400-$600, however it's never consistent. We can all ask for the same pedicures and yet one will get a warm towel and others won't, and the next time we'll get something completely different. We continued to come because of their large selection of polish and I appreciated that they never separated us from each other. Today I made an appointment just for myself and I sat waiting for 15 minutes. Other appointments walked in behind me and they proceeded to take them over me. I was informed they were going to do my manicure first, but they didn't have anyone available for me. So why wouldn't they do my pedicure first instead of forcing me to wait while taking others over me? I will not continue to spend money at an establishment that has such poor customer service. The nails aren't special and there's dozens of salons in Folsom who offer the same thing with better customer service. read more

Update: After posting this, the salon owner, Kim, apologized to us repeatedly on the phone as well as under this review. She kept trying to make it right on her end, which we appreciated. She also made the workers aware of how we felt and how it was offensive. We also appreciated the quick response and the fact that it actually became a lesson. It seems like she cares about her business, customers, and employees. This was our first time coming to this place & we tried it out since we live pretty close. It started out alright where the receptionist was able to easily book us, which was nice since other places we tried were full. My family member had wanted to get a pedicure for their birthday. The reason I'm giving 2 stars is due to the nail techs rudeness and lack of awareness. While getting our nails done, we were subjected to comments on our ethnicity, body, etc. One guy even had the gall to say I should "eat more" after saying I'm skinny while doing my pedicure. They said two of us didn't look alike after asking if we were sisters. They asked one family member if they were Japanese (we're Asian & Black but there's a better way to ask/say these things esp when they're customers). It was just uncomfortable overall due to them. It was unnecessarily catty and gossipy. We could tell that they were also talking about us sometimes in Vietnamese, because they'd also look at us. It was a case of not saying anything if you have nothing nice to say. It's unfortunate because we liked our nails. I also thought the person doing my acrylics/manicure was nice, but the ones doing the pedicure ruined that and made me not want to talk much anymore. We can't really see ourselves coming back after all of that. It was supposed to be a day where we celebrated our family member and had positive vibes. read more

I came back the second time for a manicure and it started off great, but the technician left to go start a pedicure for someone else while I was drying my nails. 15mins passed and I asked someone if I could go. I am a regular here and normally have good experiences but today was not. Please tell your technicians to be careful. Tiffany practically took off my entire pinky toenail and it is now throbbing. Then, she cut my cuticle on my thumb also and I had to ask her to disinfect it before she tried to slap glue on it. For $100 mani/pedi, I don't think it's right to leave with two terrible cuts. Hoping I just had an off day here because I do really like my experiences here normally. Being 9 months pregnant and having half my toenail ripped off was not the most pleasant experience but then to be cut again right after was just unacceptable.
