My experience at iBar was a decent one. It's one of my brother's favorite bars in the city so that's how we ended up there. We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon. It was crowded but not so bad that you didn't want to stay. We were seated upstairs upon entry and greeted by our server. I played it safe and just ordered a burger and fries. It's hard to mess that up... the food was good. Nothing earth shattering but decent. My sister ordered a blt and my brother had pasta. They both liked their food. The pasta is said to be a favorite amongst the regulars. The space was quiet (for a bar), dimly lit and cozy. I come here for ONE DISH!! Cajun shrimp and chicken pasta! It's so good and properly sauces that you just cant help but to devour the entire plate. It comes with salad and garlic bread and it is large enough to share or split to take half for lunch. When I'm really feeling myself, I get an order of wings too (some of the best I've had). People I've come with always enjoy their food as well. It falls one star short of 5 because the space is small and you cant even get in on some weekend nights because people come, stay, and drink for the night-- there is no way for them to gauge when they are going to leave because it is a bar. That 18% added must have their heads in a place where they think they can do what they want. The old adage of "dont judge a book..." rings true at this dive bar/restaurant by Station North. I went to this place after reading a review in City Paper for the Best Wings. Boy, were they tasssssty!! It's quite expensive for wings, if you don't go on 1/2 price wing nights, which are Wednesdays from 8-10PM. (note: all wings on 1/2 price wing nights must be eaten in the bar--no take-away for specials) Natty Bohs are a dollar from 4-8 or something like that...call ahead, find out the specials and get ya some wings! The bar tenders and servers are super nice. If there isn't seating in the bar area, there's more seating downstairs, where they have table service. The crowd can be mixed and fun from straight and gay to black and white to fun and funky... Oh, and they have free wi-fi and a computer for customers...but please wash your dirty sauce covered hands before using the keyboard. And no, licking your fingers does NOT count. :D read more

And so I'm back with an update. As mentioned before, the wings weren't all that to me and I just couldn't understand why THOSE were what everyone raved about. So I had to order them again because maybe just that day, they were a bad batch. The waiter was obviously new because she didn't know what kind of gin they sell, and seemed like every time we asked her if they had something she had to ask someone. She finally took our drink order and then her mom, the lady behind the bar, had to come back and ask us what the drink order was again. We asked her about something on the menu, she had no idea, got someone else to come up and explain it, took our order, then 10 mins later the original girl came up like so do you want whatever she was talking about? Then she asked my friend 'do you want penne or fettuccini noodles' he said fettuccini and of course his food came with penne. I'm convinced everyone working there was high off something, especially the waitress! It was in fact beginning to get pretty funny because we knew that whatever we asked for we were gonna get the opposite of or she was gonna ask someone else. The iBar is a small, chill neigghborhood bar with reasonable drinks, good food and great vibe and cool service. Where can you get a blue moon for $3.50, the Ibar. I only come here for the chef style wings. They have garlic and parm added to the buffalo sauce. Can't get anything like them in this area. They have weekly happy hour specials, wednesday's is wing night, but chef style wings are not includeed in the wing special, so if you want chef style wings, dont come on wednesday. The cheesesteak is to die for, along with the salads with the blackened tilapia, very tasty. Also you can order takeout as well, which is great if you dont feel like dining in. I am usually here at least once a week. So if you are in the lower Charles Village area, check out the Ibar, you never know you may become hooked. read more

My friend and I went to this place because they were so highly rated on Yelp. Upon arriving, we were highly disappointed. We were seated downstairs and the music was absolutely terrible. The owner was there and that was his selection. Our waitress was friendly and she gave us some suggestions for what to order. The best wings I've ever had. MUST get their buffalo wings chef style, which is their homemade hot sauce (your choice of spice level) with Parmesan and garlic. You'll wish you've had wings like this all your life. There is an option to fry them regular or hard, or the off menu option I prefer is crispy, which is a perfect in between level. Their hand cut fries are delicious and so are their onion rings and mozzarella sticks. I may have had one or two other main entrees, but I stopped getting a anything other than their wings because they're just so damn good! Not to be beat is their happy hour beer prices, $1 Natty Boh pints and $2 Gennesees. I mean, what?! I love it. They do have a good variety of cocktails too. There are a lot of negative reviews on the service. They're not the fastest, but everything is made to order and worth the wait. Get a drink or two while you wait for the wings. Pro tip: if you sit downstairs, the service does tend to suffer a bit, and the ambience upstairs is way cooler and better than downstairs. They have tons of TVs for your game day needs and they're always willing to help you change the channel to your team. The audio will always be reserved for the home team of course. But when you do get in I recommend the chef style wings fried hard (the buffalo sauce is the owner's special recipe) or the shrimp chicken cheesesteak it costs a little more but the shrimp are big & worth the extra couple bucks.
