i-Tea was my favorite boba place pre-quarantine. When a lot of them closed during the pandemic, I was really bummed out about it. I found myself in Pleasanton on a hot day, so I decided stopping by an i-Tea, something I had not had in a long time, would be a good way to cool myself. FOOD: I ordered a Taro Milk Tea with no boba as that is my old go-to. The drink came out much more purple-ish than I was used to for i-Tea, which was the first red flag. It usually means that they use taro powder rather than fresh taro. When I took a sip, my suspicions were confirmed when it was overly sweet. The drink normally has taro bits; this drink had none at all. Regardless to say, I was very disappointed with my drink since it tasted nothing like the i-Tea taro milk tea that I was used to. +0 SERVICE: You place an order with the cashier, pay, and get an order number. Once your order is ready, they will call it out for you. I didn't have any issues with the service since there wasn't really any other customers while I was there. +1 COST: The taro milk tea was $5.25. If it tasted like it normally did, I'd say it was fairly priced. But for what I got, it was a big letdown. +0.25 SETTING: i-Tea is located on the edge of downtown which is convinient if you are walking around the area. There is also a small parking lot so you can easily park. There is no furniture inside as it has been closed off. You can't really hang out here with friends at all; just grab your drink and go. +0.5 X-FACTOR: Other than nostalgia, I don't think anything stands out about this place. i-Tea used to have so many stores and I'm very surprised this place is still open. +0 Basically, got a taro milk tea that was overly sweet and had no taro; nothing like what I was used to. I'll round up here for the official rating. 1.75/5

Out of all the boba places in Pleasanton, i-Tea is still my fav! I won't list the other competitors, but there's just something about this place (value, price, toppings, flavor) that keeps me coming back! My go-to is the matcha milk tea with red bean and matcha pudding. Yes, MATCHA pudding. It's so delicious and the price is a little over $5, not too bad considering other places would charge that price for just the matcha milk tea drink itself! If you're a matcha fanatic like me, this is your drink! It's pretty much the only thing I order, so I can't say much for the other flavors. I might have gotten milk tea once, but seriously, order the matcha milk tea with red beans and matcha pudding (I personally do 30% sweet and 30% ice), and this is the best combo! Also add $0.50 for boba, which I did once and you can go without.

Happy hour drinks every evening. Not all drink are discounted, but generally drinks under $4.75 have a discount around $0.50.

We typically frequent the I-tea location in Dublin, however, on a recent evening we were in downtown Pleasanton and decided to try out the recently reopened I-tea under new ownership. Not much has changed since the last I remembered. We were pleasantly surprised that this location offers nightly happy hour specials on many of their drinks. They don't clearly indicate anywhere what drinks are discounted. You need to ask. And even the staff isn't very clear until you actually place your order and the system will automatically discount the drink. I'm guessing based on our order, the typical discount is about 50 cents. The taste is pretty standard, however, the boba is still sweeter than we prefer and is reminiscent of how it tasted under the previous ownership. This location offers a whole host of food options including ramen. So this is definitely a good option if you are looking to have a meal and a tasty drink with it. Overall, we will still go back to our favorite I-tea location in Dublin given the better tasting boba and friendly service there.

I was so excited to try this place but was pretty disappointed. Not at the boba- that was hreat and the only reason it deserves a star. It was the service. I perfectly understand they were busy but we waited about an hour. We ordered Panda boba but they didnt tell us they were out of regular milk, almond milk, or tapioca balls. Thos was after 30 minutes after our order when we went to check on the order. On top of that, when we decided to wait outside they kept putting down our orders to accomidate changes to other people's boba. When a friend went back in to keep an eye on thrm, only then did they tell us about yet another thing they didnt have 45 minuted after our order! They only told us stuff after we asked, which means they didnt eveb START our order until 45 minutes later, while people who ordered much after us were long gone. Overall, the boba was good (tho at this point it was just Jasmine milk tea with soy milk since they didnt have regular) but the service was the worst o've ever experienced.

Golden Oolong & Roasted Oolong both w/ Sea Salt Cream and Boba

Located next to Amador Valley High School and local restaurants, I-Tea is located in a prime location. The place is in the heart of the mini plaza and is next to Mathnasium. With a clean, large space and plenty of tables for groups (and a restroom equipped), this boba place is the perfect spot for a hang out or a chill study date. The menu is located to the very right next to the cashier. One of things I liked about this particular I-Tea was that they have unique offerings such as having the Golden Oolong or Iron Buddha as brewed tea, or topped with sea salt cream. I am a huge fan of these tea flavors, so I was very happy about this "new addition." They have a variety of options for newcomers, such as the classic 3G Milk Tea (regular milk tea with grass jelly, pudding, and boba) or fresh fruit teas like the White Peach Oolong. There is also smoothies (Black Tea & Oreo Creamy, Matcha & Red Bean, etc) and specials (Mango Sago and Taro Sago). In general, I-Tea's diverse menu is one of their key assets as a boba place. You'll definitely find an option you'll like on their menu! My family and I have came here only two times. Both of our visits became relatively busy after we walked in, but their tea quality was still up to par. However, the first time we came, we have ran into minor issues with the snacks. We waited a long time (20 minutes) the first visit. Honestly, this is probably because there were only two workers and couldn't keep up with the amount of orders (reasonable). But, the real issue was with the amount of servings of the snacks. We ordered popcorn chicken and Taiwanese tempura. We ended up paying $5-6 for 7 pieces of them?! We were really saddened by the amount we were given, but we decided not to worry about it and give the place another try! Here we are back and ready to give them another chance and they didn't disappoint (: My sister ordered the Roasted Oolong topped with cream and I got the Golden Oolong topped with cream as well. The main difference between these two was that the roasted Oolong had a stronger tea flavor and was very crisp. The Golden Oolong was on the delicate and sweeter side, while still maintaining that subtle strong tea flavor as well. Overall, both were very heavenly on its own and paired with the smoothness of the cream. The sea salt cream has a HINT of a salty taste to balance the sweetness. It has a texture of milk foam, where the milk appears as a denser (but lighter in taste) whip cream. For snacks, we got the popcorn chicken and curly fries. The amount of fries we were given was generous and enough to fill four people's stomachs. The popcorn chicken doesn't have the prominent garlic and basil leaf flavor like most I-Teas. I don't know if it was just this time they forgot to add it, but it was missing the classic I-Tea Popcorn Chicken flavor. Because of that, I had to knock down a star. Overall, I recommend going here if it is your first time trying boba or even just for a late night hangout.

Beware of the time you come, especially during school times. Because it's right next to AVHS, students often go here after school ends, and the line can become extremely long. Otherwise the service is pretty quick and you get your drinks quickly. Snacks here is good, and I recommend the popcorn chicken. They have good fruit teas and toppings as well. Because of covid there used to be no indoor seating, and if there was a long line because of students it would become EXTREMELY cramped. But they have recently opened it up so there is space to sit and enjoy your drinks.

While I wonder why this place is so slow on a weekday afternoon, until I open the lid of my hot taro milk tea. No joking, the cup is not all the way filled. It's not such a big deal, but I do think it's not very honest. $5.14 for a not full cup of hot taro milk tea. That's more options in the area.

Was craving boba a few nights ago so we stopped here. Parking was easy, it is in a small shopping center with a parking lot. We had never been to iTea so we had some questions about what their popular drinks were or what certain items tasted like but the employees said "I'm not really sure" or "I don't know" to almost every question. The drinks do not have any sort of description on the menu so we were basically shooting in the dark at this point. Also, they were out of all of the sea salt kreme items which is what we both wanted so we wound up with other items. My friend got a honey brown rice drink with agar boba in it, she didn't like it much. I chose the crème brûlée milk tea. I thought it was going to have a crème brûlée flavor or topping but I was very wrong. Also, I paid extra for almond milk (which there was barely any of in my cup). Since I chose a milk alternative, I think most employees would have realized that this was a good time to warn me that the drink was going to be mostly full of actual custard/crème brûlée. This warning did not happen. I couldn't believe it when I received a drink that was less than half a cup of tea and more than half custard. They made an attempt to blow torch the top like crème brûlée... After drinking the tea portion I couldn't even access the already small amount of boba in the drink because the custard (which I was avoiding) was in the way. I threw the drink away and am so confused about what I paid $7 for. By the way, when ordering, you can also you can choose the level of ice and sweetness, the default is 100%. Thankfully, I chose 50% on each because I barely had any tea to begin with (ice would have made it even less) and my drink was extremely sweet even at 50%, I can't imagine what the default tastes like. We really wanted to like this place but unfortunately, this experience will be our last.

I-tea is one of my favorite go-to boba places. I like their Mango Saga Drink and when it's cold outside, I love to get the Honey Brown Rice Milk Tea. - The guy at the counter was very nice and friendly. Great experience overall.

Okay, iTea's drinks are sooo good. I found myself craving for their matcha milk tea because their matcha milk tea is super good, creamy, the green tea flavor comes through, and the boba is perfectly sweetened and soft and chewy. I'm so mad we closed so many iTea shops in the Bay Area, I think they serve some of the best boba drinks I've ever tried. $4.95 as of August 2021.

There are a couple i-Tea shops around the Tri-Valley area. This i-Tea location is strategically located next door to Amador Valley High School. They get the after school and the teen hang out crowd in Pleasanton. I stopped in after having sushi in the same shopping center at sushi Hanabi. Their menu not only has boba drinks, but they have slush desserts, and ramen. I ordered my usual passion fruit green tea with boba pearls. The drinks were made very fast but the boba pearls could have been more Q. Not bad. Limited parking in the strip mall.

Love the boba here. Got the Litchi Green Tea which came with Lychee jelly and regular boba. The 30% sweetener level was perfect for me, and it was a tasty treat while catching up with some friends. There was plenty of seating in this i-Tea and the staff was efficient in getting our drinks out quickly. read more

Drinks are fine but the proportions of boba and jelly are ridiculously small compared to the Dublin I-Tea. We ordered a green tea drink with red bean, but we noticed that the red bean was just a tiny spoonful on top. Most of the workers are students from the school next door, which is fine, but I believe the manager is way too stingy on ingredients. I really hope they improve because it is a popular place for students, but I don't think it's right to manipulate students who work there. read more

I came here last weekend during their soft opening. For a soft opening, they seem to have things pretty figured out. The environment in here is great. An awesome hangout spot on the weekends or whenever I need to study a bit. I guess milk teas are like the new coffee shops huh? Definitely recommend you guys stop by at least once and get a feel for the atmosphere and the great drinks read more

Came to i-Tea and ordered the Honey Green Tea and the Grey Tea and was Ok. Needed a little more sweetness to it since i got 50% sugar and 50% ice. My friend ordered similar Tea and asked for a good amount of sugar and still Was not too sweet....Not too bad just make sure you order correctly. read more

The tea was super watered down, and they ran out of tapioca pearls during prime hours. Instead they replaced it with another kind of pearls but they were so old that they were hardened from sitting in the water too long. There are other better boba teas around the area than this place. read more

Stop by this place before heading down to a wedding reception after lunch. Ordered Mango Sago and got very disappointed!!The Drink was water down, they give small amount of Sago and the Fresh Mango. I love going to i-Tea in different city and I never got disappointed with their Mango Sago. But this i-Tea is the WORST!!..so damn stingy with their topping n their drink. Rating is purely based on service. First time ever at i-Tea. Asked if they could make an all red bean slushee with boba and add more red bean on top. The younger lady and older gentleman said yes. However, when the drink came out it was a matcha red bean. Told the older woman who made it that we just wanted all red bean and she said that we needed to read the menu more carefully. Then told the younger lady who took our order to not to help us in Chinese (thinking we could not understand). Refused to try to remake the drink or even offer to provide a $5+ drink refund. Also ordered some food. Typical for this type of establishment. Actually decent, which is too bad because I would rather drive a bit further to Dublin or San Ramon where at least I know I'll get better service and not have to deal with someone who is rude and thinks people can't understand what they're saying because they speak a different language. read more

Excellent Boba spot. I got the C7 Taro Boba Tea with chunks of taro and boba and boy was it delicious. I personally don't like my drinks too sweet and told the the lady behind the register this who suggested the 80% sweetness factor as she stated the taro is not a seeet drink to begin with and anything less than 80% may taste bitter. I'm glad I listened because my drink was perfection. Highly recommend !!! read more

I've been here a few times since I live much closer to this location and I know what time of day to visit to avoid the kiddies during the week. I got to meet the owner today, she's very friendly. Pros: - Great location (previously I said it wasn't, but I take it back now I know when to visit to avoid the high school kiddies) - Friendly service - Offers lots of snacks - Offers lots of hot/cold beverages - Stamp card I-tea is located in the same complex as Don Chepe/Flavor Brigade/Subway in a small complex, limited parking during peak hours. Our favorite boba spot of all time - including Boba Guys in San Francisco. My boyfriend and I usually go here at least twice a week. The drinks are high quality and taste so good. They have soy milk, allow you to change the level of sweetness, and the level of ice. The place also has really good customer service, is open all the time, and always has parking! I highly recommend this place!! read more

I ordered a Guava Fruit Tea with 30% sugar and ice and didn't expect the first sip to taste completely diluted and much like water. My past experiences with fruit teas with the same sugar and ice levels did not match my drink today so I believed the new worker may have accidentally messed up my drink. I went up to counter to explain and ask for another drink. Understandably, she asked her manager who replied that the ice had melted (??) and the low sugar was simply the reason before she turned around and continued to work. I didn't realize that possibly remaking the drink or talking about another substitute would be so much work and the manager had to be that rude. Complete waste of money. read more

Open at 11:30am, but didn't cook rice yet at 12:05pm. Need to wait 30-40min more if we want our rice order. Had to change orders. No other good options since it was past noon, and we'd have to wait elsewhere. Don't serve cooked food if you don't prepare before you open up shop!! read more

So, I was a little unsure of boba in general. I live near this establishment and my kids really like boba, so I thought, "Why not?" Well, now I am hooked. I absolutely LOVE this place. I think I have been 6 out of 7 times last week, and still going strong. It is extremely clean and the quality is fantastic. The owners are also very nice provide a warm, friendly environment for the mass volume of kids after school and for other patrons. I usually get the Earl Gray Milk tea, which is delicious and costs about $4.50, which seems very reasonable for the quality. read more

Finally, we have an I-Tea shop at Pleasanton! We went for some milk teas during the soft opening. The quality of milk teas are as good as we used to have at the other i-Tea shop in Dublin and Fremont. We did not get a chance to try the hot dishes yet since we just had our lunch at Main Street. Don't call them. It seems like they have a hard time understanding and hearing you. The girl on the phone is laughing and talking while you're talking no customer service. They don't know what their doing in there. So frustrating. They charge for bags for your drinks and food, itea in Castro valley and Oakland and San Leandro has never charged for bags. The place looks like a high school and the people that work there acts like high schoolers as well. I won't be back the customer service is horrible. read more

I go here to get a drink only because they are closed to my work. Their drinks are okay but customer service are bad. I had waited for few minutes for the last customer to get her order done then the cashier walked away to make drinks without a word. so I stood in front of the cashier another 3-4 minutes then he came back to place my order. He didn't tell me what my order number was as usual. After 10 minutes, he called a number and handed out one of my drinks and asked me if I wanted to change to something else because the other drink which I ordered was run out. I literally was waiting my drinks inside of the shop but he didn't tell me the drink was out until he got my order out. I waited 15 minutes to get an half of my order! If you were busy, I totally understand. There were only 3 customers waiting for their drinks including myself and total 4 workers were there. They just wasted my time and no sorry at all! read more

Finally ! I found the best bobo tea place in Pleasanton. The other bobo places that are in Pleasanton are so bad. The others ones have this weird after taste. But I-Tea has no funny after taste. I tried their chicken it was so good cooked perfect. What I like about this place they go all out in the drinks not just bobo put fruit bits to in it which gives a great taste. Plenty of seating, bathrooms the other place doesn't have anyway how can it be legal in a food place not have a bathroom. This place does. Every is so friendly and help you and they are fast. They don't sit around and talk on their phones they work. Highly recommend this place and I tell my friends don't go anywhere else you won't be disappointed . Keep up the good work and tasty drinks and great food. read more

I have been here many times with family. The boba is okay, as I've tasted better and cheaper. There is a very limited amount of vegetarian dishes. The curly fries are absolutely amazing, but when I got the egg tofu, I gagged. It smelled horrendous and tasted terrible too. There was a weird vegetable scrap (maybe seaweed) and was inedible. We ended up throwing it out. Good place overall, but they need to rethink their price and food options. read more

My FAVORITE tea shop. I'm seriously so happy they're in my neighborhood. The boba is always made to perfection and so is their egg pudding. The teas are SO flavorful without being too bitter. I hate overly milky teas. I always get either Thai or Jasmine milk tea with boba and egg pudding. read more

They also have a separate room that appears perfect for meetings or private events. Great coffee, beautiful space, and relaxed vibes. I'll definitely be back!

The sweetest lady was creating all the drinks by herself and she asked a few times about milk preference, etc. to make sure the drinks were made correctly. In short, boba texture and cook were good, but very sweet. The drink was a bit watered down, but had a strong tea flavor (for the classic milk tea) though not true with the Oreo milk tea. Wish that no sugar and ice levels were a standard option when ordering. Perhaps I'll stick to the fruit creamas for next retry. A little pricey, but an okay option for boba. L O C A T I O N Bobafinitea is located inside Mochiholic inside the plaza off of Rosewood Dr and Santa Rita Rd. It's in the same plaza as Total Wine and 99 Ranch. The parking lot it shared by all the other establishments, but I've always found parking immediately in front of the shop. I N S I D E There are two self ordering kiosks to the right where you can choose to get drinks and/or donuts. There were several seats for waiting to pick up your order. They have their own rewards system on the kiosks. I don't recall which it was but it was not Five Stars. It does remember how many orders you've gotten. M E N U The menu has special seasonal items as well as "combos" with mochi donuts and drinks. They have milk teas, matcha drinks, fruit creama drinks, butterfly pea lemonade, smoothies, and coffee. I don't understand why there's no normal tea with creama drinks. I typically like just a standard oolong with creama when I don't want toppings. I'm sure it's possible but I'm sure you pay the normal price. Speaking of pricing. It's a little higher than regular spots. Starts roughly at $6 with no toppings to $7 for the seasonal drinks which sometimes already have toppings in them already. Toppings are $0.50 for relatively everything and $0.75 for crystal boba. The menu feels pretty straight forward but again the struggle bus happens when using the self ordering kiosks. Today I struggled a bit with the software as I did a search initially for "oreo" and when trying to order other drinks, you would think you can just click on other areas of the menu but nope, you have to clear out that search term before anything else pops up. I thought I was stuck and nothing was responding for a little while. But luckily clicking on the search term got me to the "clearing" of the term. There are sometimes options and no option for drinks. When placing the order for the Oreo milk tea, the first option to select was just sugar level. I didn't see an option to pick black, green or oolong, so I ended up entering it in the special instructions. I didn't like that there wasn't an option for ice level or "no" sugar level. I forgot to add instructions about ice, but I did say "no sugar if possible" for both my drinks. I generally don't like ice in my drinks as it waters it down and I like to control my ice if I do need to add it. Also I typically don't get sugar in my drinks especially if I get a topping as the toppings typically are sweet. I got a normal oolong milk tea, no sugar with ice and boba. With the ice the drink did feel more watered down which I was afraid of. The boba actually had a nice texture and chew but unfortunately, very very sweet. I'm really really glad I asked for no additional sugar or more so I'm glad the employee was able to do no sugar in my drink. Otherwise, the oolong was very present and had a lovely flavor. I had a sip of the Oreo Milk Tea (Oolong base, no sugar, with ice and boba). It was definitely a dessert in a cup. The Oreo felt like it was crushed Oreos including the cream. But that was pretty much the only thing you could taste and it clashed with the sweetener used in the boba. I can't imagine how this drink would be with additional sugar and REALLY glad there was no additional sugar added because it was definitely a sugar rush with my one sip. You couldn't really taste the tea base which was a shame and the main flavor profile you taste is the Oreo. Great if you really love Oreo and not wanting to taste the tea. I would highly suggest getting no sugar unless you do have a super sweet tooth (which I do not). S E R V I C E The person who made my drinks was very nice and also let me know he didn't add additional sugar as I requested which I really appreciated. I was the only one there and it took not too long to get my drinks. Everything was nicely packaged in a bag fit for two drinks. It was cute! O V E R A L L For a classic milk tea with boba, $6.50 is steep. I probably won't be back for a standard drink. I would probably also stay away from the boba topping as it was definitely too sweet for me. I wish there was a "no sugar" option outside of entering text as well as ice level options on all drinks. Perhaps their other drinks are a little more worth it. But if you do have a sweet tooth for drinks and also like mochi donuts, this would be your go to place. I at least won't completely rule this place out for my boba Tuesdays. It may just be more creama Tuesdays :)
