Had it yesterday, their chicken and waffle cone was pretty good, it just had too much sweet involved. The batter was sweet, the cone was sweet, the cole slaw was sweet and the potatoes were even sweet. I think some salt could go a long way with this meal, and maybe even a different presentation style. I couldn't find a good way to get a "perfect bite", perhaps changing them to a few smaller sliders with each bit easily accessible would help? I felt before I deconstructed it on a napkin I got more of the food on me than in my mouth. Good food certainly but a little rough around the edges. read more

Really hope yelp stops taking down my reviews because I am a foodie and I think my reviews are pretty accurate. I had the waffle fry poutine here and loved it. It's hard to find good poutine here in Eugene and this one is awesome. Also had the waffle breakfast sandwich and loved it. Avid lurker in the Eugene Foodies page, I happened upon a discussion on this fairly new food truck and was instantly intrigued. Finally saw them at the Festival of Eugene weekend at Skinner Butte Park and I swear the way I saw it was like those love-at-first-sight-hazy-on-the-edges views. I made a beeline for it! Ordered the super famous Chicken in a Waffle Cone (w/mashed potatoes & coleslaw). It took almost 45-mins to get it. When it arrived, I was impressed with the whole concept, the presentation was fabulous--but the taste was just okay. There was a mix-up with my order and I was afraid to fix it because it might take another 45-mins to get it right and I just didn't have the time or the patience that day. Not complaining about the wait, just sayin'. I ordered their ice cream in a waffle cone and although the ice cream tasted good and creamy, their waffle cone (which I would imagine that they are much celebrated for) was pretty bland and just meh. I don't know about you but I always look forward to eating the cone in my ice cream! I Scream for Waffles' waffle cone had almost no flavor, was kinda oldish and chewy texture-wise (as opposed to fresh and crisp so you know it came from a new batch) and made the ice cream experience only 50% enjoyable. I know, I'm spoiled. I live in our wonderful good ol' USA and we have the best things and the best accessible ingredients and opportunities here so as Americans, yes, we can be spoiled. We expect our food to taste wonderful, served to us with a smile, and we don't wanna pay an arm-n-a-leg for it. We are proud Americans, dammit! The service was AWFUL. I'm pretty sure the cashier/main lady was high as hell or something. She was not mentally there at all. I was pretty stoked to eat here as the truck looks super sweet and the food original. I have to say, the chicken-waffle cone thing was actually really good flavor-wise, but it was kinda cold and spilling EVERYWHERE, they had it in an old-school ice cream sundae dish which was cool aesthetically, but shit, slaw everywhere. It was good, but impractical. Above all, the service ruined our entire experience. First off, it took forever to get our food even though it seemed like there was only one family before myself and my partner. The cashier/main lady was horribly confused who's orders were who's, like how hard is it to number an order and give it to that table's numbers? There were TWO other tables, c'mon. Secondly I ordered a coffee with my meal and I kept asking and reminding the staff that I wanted that coffee which they forgot entirely. Turns out, they gave it to the OTHER table and didn't notice. When I bought it up she called them "dicks" for taking the coffee that wasn't theirs. She even offered us food that wasn't ours too. When I was like "Hey I'm almost done eating where is my coffee, please?" they told me they were out of cream/coffee and I had to wait ten additional minutes? You're kidding... I couldn't talk to the original lady because, get this, she was too busy on her phone/dashing to the restroom. She seemed so distracted when taking my order even, like I said she must have been high as shit or hungover from Halloween, I get it dude, but have some coffee yourself. In the end we waited longer to get the damn coffee which she complimented with a scoop of ice-cream, which I'll admit that was good. All in all, the food was pretty good albeit a little cold, presentation was okay, service: TERRIBLE. The only reason this is 2/5 rather than 1 was the food itself. Ps. The Lady even almost squirted by partner with a nut-load of ketchup which he narrowly dodged, I kid you not. read more

We ordered a chicken and waffle cone and one of each dessert. The chicken and waffle was so good! It had mashed potatoes, three fried chicken strips, slaw all put into a savory cone. We had the choice of a Screamin waffle (waffle stuffed with ice cream), Screamin sundae (homemade ice cream in a waffle dish), and colossal waffle (waffle with a waffle sauce, whip cream, and strawberries). We couldn't decide so we had one of each. We were not disappointed and would recommend going to eat there. Great prices, great, friendly people working. read more

I am writing this review on behalf of Creekside Village and Valley River Court Apartments, I Scream for Waffles brought their truck to both of our properties Sunday the 22nd. Glenn and Pam were wonderful about helping us get the event scheduled and were willing to work with our budget! We gave them very little notice and had a relatively small budget for the amount of residents we wished to serve. Glenn, Pam, and crew were eager to help and very friendly! They helped us work out how many servings we could have to stay within our budget while still including the gratuity (they tried to say they didn't need it so we had to insist! They deserve it for their hard work!). The residents loved that the waffle truck came directly to our community, and when we ran out of the free vouchers for them, they still waited in line to pay out of pocket! My husband and I were hanging out at Ninkasi and I Scream for Waffles pulled in the drive way. We waited thirty minutes for them to open and I'm so happy we did. We ended up getting the poutine and Screamin' Waffle with Sea Salt Caramel and Chocolate Brownie. The ice cream was literally the most creamy and delicious ice cream we've ever had! The waffles surrounding the ice cream were crispy and sweet, so good! The poutine was SO GOOD! The gravy was rich, not too thick and full of flavor. Cheese curds on top were just the best. My girlfriend and I went to the Faerie Worlds festival outside of Beaverton this past weekend and this food truck was located in the food court area. My girlfriend wanted a sweet treat and thought a waffle would be very nice. We ordered the street waffle asking first if it was sweet enough as a stand alone item with no toppings, we were told these are a different style of waffle and they would definitely be sweet enough. We both tried a few bites of the waffle and realized it was not good at all, any homemade waffle would be a better treat then this waffle which cost $4.50. First off, the street waffle was served cold like it was sitting around for a while. Secondly, the waffle was NOT sweet as advertised. Thirdly, the waffle was so dry. It reminded me of when I was a kid and I would take a piece of bread and roll it into a ball and try to eat it in one bite. You chew and chew and chew, but it just gets harder and harder because your mouth is continually getting more dry and more dry. We did not know what to do at this point, we knew we couldn't eat it and so we took it back to the food truck to see if there was anything that could be done to make a bad situation better. Well, I wish we didn't do this. We asked if there was anything that could be done and the first girl seemed to care, she asked what was wrong and mentioned maybe a replacement or refund was possible. This is when the supervisor or manager heard refund and came to the window quickly. She asked what was wrong, we explained the waffle is not good and didn't know what to do. She seemed annoyed with us before we even said our first words. She asked if there was anything wrong with it, well yes everything, but we said it just was not good, we didn't know where to start, nor did we expect confrontation. I kind of assumed she already knew they were dry and bad and couldn't imagine anyone wanting a plain cold unsweetened waffle. She took the waffle from us and we waited outside of the truck wondering what will happen next. We waited, waited, waited... I did not know what was going on at this point. I am just looking at this supervisor waiting, until she sees I am looking at her and she comes to us. She seemed put off that we were still waiting here at her truck. So let me get this straight. We purchase an overpriced waffle for $4.50, bring it back explaining the issue, and you take it from us and expect that we will be happy with this outcome? This sounds as though you just stole from us at this point.. She is very annoyed and I say, if we can't have a refund you have to at least give us our waffle back, there are many garbage cans which I would rather throw this in then have it be taken from me. I assume she already threw it away because she brought a different waffle. We took it and placed it where it belongs, the garbage. read more

This wonderful, delicious food truck is parked out in front of our building as I type this. We just finished an early lunch here in the office and I had the Chicken and Waffle cone. It was amazing. Perfectly fried chicken, in a tasty waffle cone, complimented by the very tasty pineapple slaw. The sriracha honey maple sauce added a great kick of sweet and spicy and was perfectly proportioned to boot. To finish it off, I got some nice and tasty garlic mashed potatoes waiting for me at the bottom of the cone. Delightful! read more
