I love a well prepared and creative cuisine prepared by a classically trained chef and am willing to pay the price for that experience. But it has gotten to the point where these steakhouses have pushed the envelope too far by charging $70-$80 for A STEAK and I have made the decision no longer to support this sort of price gouging. We loved the decor but it is very loud in here. The bar area looks very welcoming and they have a Happy Hour. I recommend a booth to block out some of the noise. We had Matt as a server and he was great. He asked who had a birthday in August when he arrived at the table as he was excited that we had the same birthday. He was so personable and knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered the lobster escargots as per his recommendation and it was delicious. If you want bread service you need to ask. There is no charge and a nice selection. Doing the bread in the little cups of garlic butter is a must! The entrees come with a side of onion straws which we all felt were lackluster and not warm. My hubby loved his filet, perfectly seasoned and cooked medium rare. I ordered the lamb chops and they were delicious! We also ordered the spinach and mushrooms which didn't arrive with our meal and Matt hand served them to us so I forgot a picture. We were too stuffed for dessert but some that went by looked great. We visited on Christmas Eve and had a wonderful experience. The drinks were great, and the wine was very reasonably priced--we enjoyed a Cabernet Sauvignon for $10.75. For appetizers, we ordered the lobster escargot, which was very flavorful. For our entrées, we had the 8-ounce filet mignon and the 14-ounce New York strip, both cooked medium, and were cooked perfectly. I especially appreciated Kia, one of the managers, stopping by soon after our party of five was seated to welcome us and make sure we were taken care of -- checking back several times throughout the evening. Starters: We began with French Onion Soup, Wedge Salad, Caesar Salad, and the Lobster "Escargot Style" -- butter-poached lobster with garlic, parsley, and crostini. It's an unusual and creative presentation -- small pieces of lobster in a rich escargot-style sauce. While it was good, next time I'll return to the excellent Crabmeat Cocktail. The Chilled Lobster Tail Cocktail (with cucumber-lime-jalapeño and classic cocktail sauces) was outstanding. Crab Cake, very good. One of the best restaurants I have been to. The best customer service I have experienced. As soon as we walked in we were greeted. From the moment we sat down until we left we had great customer service. From The person serving us drinks, to the one who taking our orders, even the manager was attentive, she came by our table twice to make sure how our food and drinks were, and even gave us a free sample of the tuna tartare. Heard about this place a couple of months ago and finally made it here for dinner on Easter Sunday and sat at the bar. The bartender Susie was very helpful and answered my questions. I ordered the Lobster Escargot and the petite filet mignon with Cognac Cream Peppercorn sauce that comes with some onion straws. The lobster Escargot arrived bubbling and loaded with garlic...excellent. The filet mignon was cooked to perfection I ordered that because I wanted to try the Cognac Cream Peppercorn sauce which was spot on perfect. Finally made it to Hyde Park Steakhouse in Delray Beach about 2-weeks ago and it's about time I post my review! As anyone can see perusing Yelp, Hyde Park has gotten some very mixed reviews. To be fair, several of the lower ratings were around the restaurants soft-opening. As a rule-of-thumb, I forgo rating a restaurant that gives me a free meal as part of their soft-opening because hey, they're trying to figure things out and feeding you for free to gain that experience. My meal certainly wasn't free, and this is not an inexpensive restaurant. But the question is, did the food justify the price? YES! I wish my attached photos came out better, but the lighting in the restaurant just isn't optimal for photo ops. Oh well. I ordered two appetizers, which is something I do often when trying a new restaurant. Especially when they are two of my favorite things to eat: - Ahi Tuna Tower which contained plenty of avocado and enough crispy homemade wontons to accommodate the portion size. - Crab cake which was served with a spicy mustard sauce. I am going to start with the crab cake because this may be the best crab cake I've ever had. If there was any filler it was minimal, and the crab was served in huge chunks and as succulent as can be (I'm guessing it was Maryland Blue Crab, but since the menu doesn't say, it's only a guess). For an appetizer serving, it was plenty big. Tuna tartare is one of those benchmark items for me. I simply love it, and this was probably the best I've had in Delray Beach. I love avocado, so was happy to see that it was served on top of a large portion, albeit a little more tuna, and a little less avocado would have been ok too (hint). It would be difficult for me to not re-order this same meal my next visit. It was really that good. Our waiter was incredibly friendly and readily available throughout the meal. Front-of-the-house let me select a table (we arrived at 6:30 pm, before the restaurant filled up). If I have one criticism it is that Hyde Park gets LOUD. Like really loud. By the time we left close to 8:30 pm we were yelling across a two-person table. This is not an inexpensive restaurant. While I didn't drink, I split with a friend who ordered an entree and had two glasses of wine. We shared an order of Brussels sprouts (delish!). My share with tip was $105. Pricey, but I'd happily pay it again. Next time I'd probably make this an earlier dinner (5:30/6 pm) so I could get out before the crowds take over. read more

Then we put our order in so far so good. We had lobster that was like escargot, but it was made with lobster and the Caesar salad. Tuna tartare Everything was good and then the problem started. It took an hour and a half between our first course and the dinner to come out when the dinner came out the steak was tasty and good Chilean sea bass very good chicken Milan also a potato called millionaires potato $19 for a baked potato did have truffle in it was just OK but it came out cold and we had to send it back. So and also a Caesar salad with salmon on it look delicious asked for it well done it came out raw sent it back. They never brought it out everybody was done eating so of course that dinner was not eaten. We did call the manager over the manager. Apologize he did send complementary desserts, which were very tasty. Indoor outdoor seating, valet parking and garage parking. Been a regular here @ bar for HH...but also the 'early night' (fixed price) menu. Love it. A more sophisticated--yet not snobby--ambience. Really nice job on lighting, interior design & bar. Service is solid. Andy's our favorite behind the bar. They're exceptionally busy, and in seeing this, have hired more help. But patience's a virtue!. Last but not least: food is top notch--and not sacrificed for HH/ bar menu. Cant go wrong with tenderloin sliders, but sirloin ones have more flavor. HP Burger special comes with glass of Quilt cab...a legit $20 glass...so for $25, you can't go wrong. Burger is fresh, high quality, super tasty. The chicken Milanese on the fixed priced dinner is generous, but more importantly, the best I've had! Bartenders are experienced and genuine. Have been here twice since they opened and both visits were incredible. The service is top notch, especially the front of house manager, Tia, she is so nice and accommodating. The food is delicious. Between the two visits we have tried the steaks, the lobster escargot (A MUST!!!!), crab cake and beef carpaccio appetizer, soups, wedge salad, oysters, and chilean sea bass and desserts. Every. Excellent Steak House. I have been to many and this is as good as it gets. Apps - French Onion Soup and Lobster Escargot were fantastic. The lobster dish is unique and has great flavor. Steaks - the Filet and the dry aged bone in ribeye were outstanding. Cooked to perfection and they had tremendous flavor. They are served with crispy onions which is a nice touch. We said we were happy to wait for that table. Upon approaching that table, there were rose petals and an Anniversary card for us. But; We ordered a wide range of menu items and basically everything was average with a few items below that. A thin and tasteless Lobster Bisque featured chewy lobster and this could not be eaten. Chicken Milanese was overcooked, dry and devoid of flavor and I get it - this is a Steakhouse but the menu is varied. The Flaming Butter Cake (Banana Foster) dessert was nicely presented but the cloying and cheap tasting ice cream negated the taste. I am and have been a huge fan of Hyde Park in Columbus. I've been there every year during the Arnold Fitness Expo for 20 years. Tonight's experience in Delray single-handily destroyed the legacy of this restaurant. I actually thought I was getting pranked because I was in total disbelief. The host at the front desk was confused, the hostess bringing me to my table was unfamiliar with the table numbers. The bus girl/guy spoke so quietly in an accent I couldn't understand. My appetisers arrived about 45 seconds before my entree. The server severely burned his arm on one of the plates. My sole tasted and smelled like fish. Having recently had food poisoning there was I say I was going to eat it. I urged the manager and chef to try it. I had to pick up the appetizer plates because the server couldn't put the entrees on the table. I got the feeling they recruited inexperienced people at the last minute to have staff. What a shame. They have managed to destroy the name and reputation of a formerly top-notch and elegant facility. Hands down, the absolute worst meal and service I've experience in Boca/ Delray in the four years since I've moved from New York. Save yourself the aggravation. Our first ever visit to Hyde Park was a very good experience. I'd recommend sitting in the dining section if you are looking for conversation. We were originally seated in the bar area, but couldn't hear each other so we requested to be moved and the staff there - who were all around great - accommodated us without any drama. The food itself was very good, although the lobster escargot wasn't quite as I expected. The lobster meat was a little overdone, but the flavors were definitely there. However, the French Onion Soup? Amazing! We had a variety of food and side dishes that were all prepared well and tasty. American Wagyu NY Strip Steak, Sea Bass and Classic Burger were all very good. For sides, which were plentiful as shared portions, we went with the spinach gratin, sautéed asparagus, roasted brussels sprouts, and 5 cheese mac & cheese. It was a lot of food and served very professionally - an elevated steakhouse experience. PS - they also had the best martini stuffed olives I've had in a long time (if that interests you). When i complained to the manager he apologized and sent over two complimentary salads, which was interesting as we had already had our salads. A dessert would have been more appropriate. The food was generally fair, and not as good as would have been expected from an expensive steak restaurant. I wish I could give this more of a 3.5 star rating it's good but not great, pricey but not expensive just seems to sit in the middle. The meal began wonderfully but service was lacking. We started with an amuse-bouche which consisted of tuna tartare with a spicy mayo aioli. It was a very tasty and a delicious bite. Our appetizers were calamari with a Thai chili sauce and a Caesar salad. Both were very good. Our dinners were Parmesan crusted lemon sole, crispy fried shrimp and chips, and a Japanese 6 oz filet mignon Wagyu beef with sides ordered of roasted cream corn with pancetta, and potatoes Gruyère gratin. Our meals were ok, with the exception of the potatoes Gruyère gratin which tasted off. It was very sour, bitter, and super tangy tasting. We told our waiter who at the end of our meal comped our bill for the potatoes Gruyère grain. That was very much appreciated as it was completely inedible. A major pet peeve of someone from our group who was dining with us is that their Japanese Wagyu beef came to the table way before the sides did, so by the time that the sides did arrive, as the waiter had told us that he had forgotten to put them in the order, the Wagyu beef was completely cold. Our table was aware that it took a noticeably long amount of time. This is not acceptable or how service should have been. There needed to be more attention to detail. Our dessert we ordered was the flaming butter cake that is flambéd table side which also took a very long time to arrive at our table. Dessert wasn't really anything special. The major hiccups in service and the fact that none of us were wowed by our main meals means we won't be back. read more
