My mom and I came here to celebrate my birthday early and it was amazing. We loved the ambiance, the food, and our amazing waiter, Tong. He made the meal one to remember, making small talk with us and ending it with a free dessert for my birthday. He made the experience personal, and I loved the conversations we had. It was a very good decision to have lunch here. Tong was our waiter. He was wonderful. We hope we have the pleasure of having him as our waiter again. The Gyoza was delicious as our appetizer. My husband had the sushi lunch special and got the California and Spicy Tuna rolls which were both very good. So we could also try the hibachi, I got the chicken teriyaki lunch special. It was delicious. I loved that there were green beans included. The only thing that could have made it even better was mushrooms. The sauce was yummy. It was lunch so my husband did not have an alcoholic drink and I had a light cocktail. The Panty Hoes cocktail was delicious, light and refreshing. My husband and I finally made it to Hush last night for a last minute date night, and my only negative takeaway is that we didn't stop there sooner!!! We live locally and drive past Hush almost daily, so it's been on our must try list since they opened. So happy we finally made it because it was genuinely one of the best dining out experiences I've ever had! And we are foodies and eat out, and well, pretty often. We went for an early dinner (5:00) on a Saturday night, and from the moment we walked in we felt at home. Beautiful space with a great vibe and ambiance. Plenty of open seating at 5:00. Sit down sushi bar with one tv, separate sit down full bar with two tv's, lovely and expansive dining area, and a beautiful patio that I can't wait to sit on when it warms up! Every single employee verbally welcomed us upon arrival, during our stay, all the way through our exit. The smiles and eye contact acknowledging us was so welcoming and fresh! Our waitress, Tara, was fabulous! She was so friendly, knowledgeable, and perfectly attentive! She has clearly studied and sampled the menu because every recommendation was on point! She took the best care of us and it really was a treat! Thank you, Tara!! We will be back to see you! Okay, the food!!! Every single thing we ate and drank was amazing and beautiful! We started with a special menu starter, the spicy tuna crispy rice. Y'all!!! We would have been happy if we just ordered five orders for our meal! The most delicious thing ever! I need to request that it be put on the regular menu, pretty please! ;) We then shared the veggie udon noodles (omg!!!), Pineapple Express, Tsunami, and Yuzu Hamachi maki (rolls). All beautifully presented and absolutely delicious!! We shared two sake flights, which were all amazing, and settled on our favorite, the Moonstone Coconut Lemongrass Nigori Sake. If you like coconut, it's a must try! So good! We finished (it was hard at this point! ) with their Sweet Cheeks (basically a delicious Beignet with ice cream and whipped cream) and I'm so happy we did! Delish!! Leave room for the dessert! They have an extensive sake, wine, and Japanese and American whiskey menu. As well as everything else you want on a bar menu. Their craft cocktails have cute/funny names and all sound delicious. We noticed a lot of people around us ordered the teriyaki steak. I only saw it on the lunch menu, but apparently not and apparently it's very good as well. Food and drink prices were very reasonable and in line with any fine dining/sushi restaurant. Compliments to the Chef's, owners, and staff! Hush is a nice sushi spot. I agree with the majority the decor is nice, we went for dinner and it's a dark restaurant in a good, keep your voice down, kinda way. We were seated quickly and our server was great. Parking is a mess. The parking lot wraps around the building in an L shape but the L bend is also a dead end so I'd avoid going back there as you will certainly deal with having to backup and getting stuck should someone be on your heals. Ok so for the food, I'm mixed here. Some was worth the money but other items I'd definitely skip. The calamari appetizer wasn't the best I've had, the onions and light breading is nice but it's nothing special, I'd skip next time. The sushi rolls are good, really nice fish, fresh ginger and ingredients. The sushi rolls are priced just right and I'd return to try something else. The side soups, we ordered miso and a beef broth but they weren't great, although they we're served hot like a soup should be. I'd skip the soups and save your money for the entire. Lastly, while the drinks are good, they are small. My cocktail was $16 before tax/tip so your paying $20 for 6-8 oz of liquid. $20 adds to the bill quickly. I didn't see a happy hour and if it doesn't exist Is highly encourage for patrons to try these pricey cocktails at an affordable rate. So yes, nice place for sushi rolls, I'll return to try another entree but will skip the extra sides and hope for a drink special next trip. read more

The ambiance is awesome. The drinks were great. The food for the most part was good but the absolute snail pace of the service and lack of awareness lost them a lot. I truly hope that this was just growing pains of a new restaurant with staff still trying to get a feel for it all on a Friday early evening. We got here at 6 and it's now 8:07 waiting for server to grab the check so I can pay as I type this. Long dinner because we enjoyed it not. Long because it took forever to order and get food. We really wanted to try the desserts but this wait time deterred us. We want a box for the rice but probably cost us another additional 15 minutes to get. Lastly the lemongrass mussels had a real barnyard farm funk and taste to them. Idk if that's normal and doesn't agree with me or if I'm in for a bad night. We shall see.
