I can only share my experience & ti sum it up..the menu doesn't say how many fried oysters come with the dinner platter consisting of oysters and fries, but for $20 just for that..you would think it would be enough to fill a person up. That is just what we expect when going to dinner. It tasted fine, but was like a lunch portion. So, we had to go somewhere else to eat again. Maybe they will give a dinner portion if you spend more $ or get a burger. I don't know. Maybe Covid19 is the reason, but we both left hungry and felt that the food was overpriced for what it was. Terrific bar! Locals spot... The staff were very friendly. We had 3 different appetizers, the Buffalo Shrimp, Marinated Steak Tip and a Dozen Oysters (raw) all were excellent. Though the shrimp was probably the best, had a spicy sauce with some pop to it... The oysters were very good also and no Deep Water Horizon oil on them to speak of.. Gang, really not a well run establishment. Had to wait 2 hours for food. They blamed it on staff that quit. Management issues. Current staff was trying to compensate. I actually felt sorry for them. We had reservations for 6:30 pm. We had to wait at the hostess stand for about 10 minutes until someone showed up. The hostess was responsible for getting takeout orders as well as seating people. We had driven about 45 minutes to come to this restaurant for the lobster dinner. At 6:30 on a Saturday night they were out of lobster. When my husband ordered a fried oyster basket to replace the lobster, they were out of oysters. The waitresses were all running around like chickens with their head cut off. The smoke alarm went off twice while we were there. Our waitress was doing the best she could, but the place seemed very poorly run. I ended up getting the fresh catch which was very good. Delicious! The peel n Eat were awesome. They could've used a little more Old Bay, but I liked them. The cocktail sauce needed a little horse radish and our server Ashley got that as soon as I asked. My wife's fish n Chips were great. Nice crunch to the fish. The grilled chicken and fried shrimp were cooked perfectly. No complaints from anyone about the food. Ashley was very attentive and we didn't have to wait long for anything. Our 2 year old wasn't having the best of times but another employee Danielle hooked him up with some crayons and a coloring book and life was good again. I recommend you try it. read more

Horrible service, place was empty on a Saturday night, most of the food arrived lukewarm, the waitress stoped probably once to check up on us and one of our guys had to go and look for any waiter/waitress so they could refill our waters, and on top of that the food took more than 45 minutes to arrive. We understand it isn't easy to attend a large 20 top, but when the restaurant is empty and the servers are nowhere to be seen it leaves a ton to be desired. We asked to sit out back on the water since it's such a nice day outside and the hostess informed us they weren't seating out back. No biggie, it was lunch time so totally understandable. I asked if we could sit at a table in the front close to the water outside and she said she couldn't bc it was a larger table and "just in case a big group comes in"....L.O.L...wut. The inside was packed and outside had 2 tables sat....she sat us reluctantly. But not without consequence, we waited 20 mins for our waitress to come outside to get our drink order and the drinks were not worth the $9-$15 each. Another 25 mins to get our drinks and crab dip appetizer. 1/2 the chips with the appetizer were STALE and then it was another 30+ mins to get our food. We asked for some side of lemons for the food and she brought them back in another 15 mins...lemons had brown squishy mold on the ends of them...Sure enough y'all....the ahi tuna nachos...THE CHIPS WERE STALE! I got the jerk chicken Cobb salad...chicken was burned and it was in a side salad bowl. I CAN NOT make this up...but all in all she NEVER came back so I didn't even have a chance to have them make it right. There are just so many better places in St. Aug that will guarantee you having a memorable dining experience for a better price. read more

Went here for the first time in spite of some of the Yelp ratings, and had a very positive experience. Seated inside because a group of 150 had reserved half the restaurant including all outside tables. Started with mozzarella sticks - maybe the best we have ever had. Alec provided quick friendly service throughout. When he brought out our food, he said that my wife's grits were the last of the pot and he didn't think they were good. I give him a lot of credit for that. He brought out rice and beans instead which were very good. Ample portion of fried shrimp, very tasty crab cakes. This is a seaside shack that caters to locals. Absolutely one of the worst places I've ever water. It started with the drinks. I got a Hurricane, disgusting. Husband got the berry lemonade, how do you mess that up. Idk. We got gator bites, Tiny, over cooked. Crab dip was bland, and just sub par. I got a combination seafood basket. Each ht on it was horrendously gross. Over cooked shrimp, not fresh, hoed to even chew, oysters, smelt gross, chips. GROSS. My husband ordered the shrimp and grits and it tasted like instant grits and was overall gross, had no flavor. He also got the seafood soup which both of us took a bite out of it but that was all we could actually get down because it was absolutely sour. Within 15 minutes or less of leaving we're both sick and throwing up. Who's been $80 to have the worst food we've ever eaten. Please don't ever go here. One of the worst meals I've had in a long time. There were 12 of us and it took over an hour from the time we ordered before we got our food. I don't think we would have gotten it then unless one of our party went and asked where our food was, it majically appeared, cold. It was very apparent that the food had been sitting in the kitchen for some time and not under a heat lamp either. When I mentioned it to our waitress she even admitted she had forgotten about it, then tried to claim it was though no fault of hers. The food took longer than it should to come out, mostly because our server was busy talking at the bar or hiding somewhere. We ordered shrimp and grits, stuffed shrimp, chicken wings and kids fried shrimp. The grits were warm, at best. The chicken wings were room temp with what seemed like ketchup as the sauce. The stuffed shrimp never made it to the table. The kids shrimp was fine. We never got one refill on any of our drinks, slow service, cold food and a dinner that never showed up. Well, we won't ever go back. I recommend that you don't waste a vacation meal in this restaurant. We ordered this restaurant through zipit food delivery. We immediately regret our decision. While the cheeseburger was overcomes, my chicken was undercooked. The shrimp in both meals were like rubber and our "salads" were boxes of lettuce with ranch on the side. I called to ask what was supposed to be in the salads and both should have had more veggies or croutons. When I told her that neither did, the lady was rude and told me that's how side salads are, even though we just established that both salads were supposed to be more than a box of lettuce. Well I will start out by warning visitors to stay away. There are lots of restaurants in St Augustine to try before coming here. First a positive thing. The crab dip appetizer was pretty good. Now the bad! I had the fish and chips. Huge serving which was great but unfortunately most of it went back to the kitchen. Greasy and the fish tasted rubbery. My wife had the catch of the day fish. Not bad she says but the server never did bring out her tarter sauce. Fortunately I did not have a need for mine. I ordered a beer. Came out in a frosted glass and the first few drinks were fine but then it started tasting a little off and had a smell to it. About half way done I could tell the glass was filthy. We told the server about it and nothing was done. She did say she planned to tell "them" about the dirty glass. Hopefully this will get their attention. My husbands mahi sandwich was burnt, when we told our waitress she said she would talk to Manager about a 10% discount but she did not instead was back 30 seconds later with the check before I was done eating before asking if we wanted something else a drink or anything quite rude if you ask me another word she was saying pay the check and get the hell out. Let me first say, the waitress while not spectacular at her job, was polite and seemed to want to do a good job. 7:00 - arrived for dinner 7:05 - 4 of party of 5 seated (number 5 arrived around 7:15)... pretty quickly we were able to order drinks. 1 Diet Coke, 3 sweet teas. 7:10 - we received 1 Diet Coke, 3 UNSWEETENED teas. We again asked for 'sweet' teas and ordered appetizers around this time... 1 crab dip, 1 hurricane shrimp. The waitress said they were finishing up a new batch of tea and that it would be ready shortly. 7:15 - our 5th party member arrives and orders sweet tea... 7:25 - the new sweet teas arrive followed shortly by the appetizers. We place our dinner order - 1 low country boil, 1 coconut shrimp, 1 burger, 1 pot roast, and 1 chicken sandwich with avocado. After the waitress took our order, we tried the appetizers. The crab dip, while tasting similar to pre-made crab dips and being almost hot enough, would prove to be the best thing all night. The hurricane shrimp had a good flavor but it was mushy, lukewarm, and not nearly enough shrimp for the $11. 8:00 - dinner arrives. Unfortunately, no one realized the waitress had set the tray down incorrectly, so after taking 3 items off, 2 of them went crashing to the floor. For what it's worth, the 2 people who lost their dinners to the falling tray incident were offered free desserts. It was a nice gesture, but they weren't interested. While the others waited for their food to be replaced, the three of us began eating. (Dinner 1) The burger - Not hot at all and the fries were lukewarm and chewy. (Dinner 2) The coconut shrimp - small, overcooked, and soggy on the bottom from something wet on the plate. The rice was good and the veggies were too cold to eat. The dip it came with was bitter and almost frozen. (Dinner 3) Low country boil - all shellfish was overcooked; mussels, clams, oysters. The corn was also tough. The andouille sausage and the potatoes were pretty good. Yet again, the dish was barely warm and the cocktail sauce was frozen and passed the Dairy Queen upside-down blizzard test... oh, and it was missing shrimp. 8:05 - drink refills and more apologies for the dinners. Asked for napkins. 8:15 - the two replaced dinners arrived...still no napkins. (Dinner 4) Chicken sandwich with avocado - chicken was chewy and cold. All that was eaten was the avocado. (Dinner 5) Pot roast - almost hot enough...almost....but the carrots and potatoes weren't. I mentioned that I thought shrimp came with the low boil and the waitress said she'd talk to the chef... 8:20 - drinks refilled....napkins finally arrive 8:30 - asked for our check. By the time we paid and got up to leave, it was 8:50. Almost 2 hours for dinner. This isn't Ruth's Chris. I'm not sure why we were there for almost 2 hours for cold, sub par food. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone until there are some real changes with management, quality control, and procedure. It's just not worth the disappointment. Oh, and I never heard back about the MIA shrimp....which IS listed on the menu to be in the dish. read more

We ordered the nachos for an appetizer and made the mistake of waiting for our appetizer to come before we ordered our food. It took 25 minutes to receive our nachos, which was missing the chicken. Then it took another 45 minutes to receive our food. We had wings, shrimp, and chicken tenders. Everything tasted like average frozen food. This would be a great restaurant to come to for drinks, music, and the view. But I would not come back for the food. read more

The manager was nice enough to give us a generous discount but never came to the table to apologize. As we sat there for at least 40-50 min waiting on food we had to watch several waitresses eating out of what seemed to be "leftovers" from another table. Disgusting. Never will go back. Hurricane Patty's is a diamond in the rough! It's a little off the beaten path from the Old Town Tourist Machine, but well worth the short drive (or long walk). Set along the scenic Oyster Creek marina, it's a fairly tidy spot that offers local seafood and diverse pours in an indoor or covered outdoor setting with views of the city. We ate a delicious Thanksgiving Dinner with Patty. In addition to the usual offerings, she offered a shrimp boil special price, along with traditional turkey or prime rib. Fresh, flavorful, and very plentiful. You will need to order another beer and perhaps wear your stretchy pants, if you plan to finish the shrimp boil! The wait staff and barkeepers were friendly and efficient. We envision ourselves coming back to the coast to visit Patty frequently! read more
