Got a double cheeseburger with fries, standard staple, and the burger was delicious! Great flavor, excellent bun, not too many condiments, fries were crispy but soft inside, everything was great. And they have outside seating for the pups. I will definitely be back when I'm in this area!

Solid old school diner vibes. They gave out free fried pickles for the beer walk! The hot dogs were so yummy and hit the spot! Great place, definitely would return

The service of this place is nice at the counter , ther person that served us was okay didn't check if everything was okay with the food. I ordered the chipotle cheeseburger, the burger was completely dry , not enough sauce and I didn't finish it , the tots and the fried pickles were average, my friends had different burgers that their food definitely looked better than mine . The interior design is very dineresuqe and it's super cute for friends and family and even date night , just make sure you choose the best burger basket.

The place has solid food and Customer service The Cedar Springs location needs a "freshen up" bathroom and dirty and tiled floors are dirty The kind of dirt you can't get rid of without a remodel. The "sparkle" need a facelift

Always my favorite burger place in Dallas. But today I had my favorite Club Sandwich and it was great as usual.

Great food and great service. It's in the gayborhood so there's always plenty of sites to be seen, or just a great place to just chill! Grab a parking spot right up front (get there fast) and grab a burger and go shopping!

Under-cooked turkey burger!

While I've dined here a few times over the last 10 years, the transition to the new management has been a bit choppy! Unfortunately, the cashiers that that take your orders are often responsible for taking phone orders. This increases the likelihood of mistakes in for all orders over the phone and in person: which was our experience. Our orders included fries and tater tots. The good part is that it was corrected when I brought it to the server's attention. The more concerning issue was the "raw" turkey burger!!! (BTW, I ordered a single and got a double) Yes, I took pictures and reported it to the attendant. "No," I didn't ask for a replacement or refund! I simply wanted the staff to be aware of how food was coming out of the kitchen!!!! Especially since the restaurant is under new management!!!! Honestly, I prefer the old regime!!!! Think I'll stick to the tater tots!

patty melt, spicy fried pickle chips, large fries

Old school burger spot with a classic diner atmosphere and very welcoming staff! I really enjoyed the spicy fried pickle chips, which had a great fry and salty flavor, but they weren't spicy at all. The fries had a good texture too- light but still somewhat crispy. The burgers however were just okay, really good buns but nothing too special about the patties. Solid spot to stop by for a burger in the area, but I feel like there are better options at a similar price.

We were looking for a new burger joint and this one came as highly recommended. They have a lot of options, but in general are still pretty basic. The theming is an old 50's style diner. And everything came out to us in butcher paper. First you order up at the front, and then they come and bring it to your table once its done - this is according to the number you have at your table. We each got a burger and shared cheese tots and a milkshake. It was more than enough food. My favorite part were the tots! Pretty solid place.

This place is usually pretty good But TODAY .... Awful! A small fry is $3.25 with tax $3.53 (the manager made sure I knew) when said there is no way 10 fries is $4. The burger was not edible and very dry. After driving back there the manager wasn't kinda kurt, nice nasty... very disappointed because they are usually very nice n personable. I really wanted a fresh hot Hunkys burger but ‍ Refund me please and thank you

Stopped by today and they were having a dog friendly Easter event, so much fun! I love finding new places that are pet friendly.

Burger House is a burger joint in Dallas that is more than a restaurant, it's a Dallas landmark…read morethat is part nostalgic, part historic, and 100% delicious. Come here if you want to enjoy a classic burger made the same way it has been for over 70 years. My Overall Rating - 4 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Burger House has a window you walk up to and order from, just like from an old school burger stand. Because that's how it began. If you look up, you can see the original roof from the stand, except now a new ceiling and climate-controlled AC has been added to keep you from melting in the Dallas heat. 1 Star. Service - The staff is friendly and old school. Your order is handwritten on a paper pad, and you can see the staff in the kitchen work on a well-seasoned (more on this later) flattop. Once you order, you grab a bench and wait for them to call your name. Fast, efficient, friendly. 1 Star. Food - What makes Burger House stand out is the seasoned salt they use on the burger and fries. While you can order cheese fries, I urge you to order the seasoned fries so you can really taste the seasoning. It's more than salt, it has a light, smoky and mildly spicy flavor to it. I'm not sure what it's made of, but you can buy a bottle to take home. The same seasoning is used on the burger to give it a nice flavor, and my cheeseburger had a juicy patty with a perfectly melted slice of American cheese on it on a nice bed of shredded lettuce, grilled onions, and mustard. For some reason I have a feeling it takes the same as it did back in the fifties. Add a root beer float to you order and complete your travel back in time. 1 Star. Will I Return? - Yes. The Burger House near SMU is the OG and a Dallas institution. There are other restaurants that make better burgers, but none of them are both classic and historic. Burger House is and I will be back. 1 Star.

The burgers are consistently delicious. The fries are hand cut. My favorite burgers are the classic and the chili cheeseburger, which is not a big gooy burger you have to eat with a fork but has just the right amount of chili and chili sauce on it and just a delicious flavor. This unassuming restaurant tucked in a corner of nondescript row of stores has stood the test of time. My first review of the place was in 2013. Here it is 13 years later then it is still going strong. I went for lunch with the family on a snow day. You order at the counter and they bring it to your table. No numbers, they just remember who you are. I always get combo number 1 and add sweet potato fries. The prices are great and not much more than McDonalds but the difference in value is significant. The burgers are not thick but this time I noticed the double burger (#2) is just a couple of bucks more than the the single patty in #1. Note to self for next time. Although the patty is thin, the flavors work. The burger comes with lettuce, tomato, onion, and mustard. No ketchup, you add that yourself. The bun with sesame seeds always comes out piping hot. Sweet potato fries are crispy and not greasy. The combo comes with a drink for $10.99. That's a deal. I hope they stay in business another 13 years!

The neighborhood may continue to change around it, but Chip's remains the same. My Overall Rating - 4 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Chip's has an old school, nostalgic feel. The restaurant has an iconic sloping roof with a yellow outdoor exterior and a big green sign with its logo. Inside, there are plenty of booths, a bar, and even outdoor seating. Chip's has grown and expanded over the years but to me that adds to the nostalgic charm. 1 Star. Service - Chip's may have invented counter service. Upon entering, you look at the menu posted on the wall and place your order. You'll get a number (or they'll ask for your name), and you grab a table, and when your food is ready it comes out. Fast, efficient, and the staff was super friendly. 1 Star. Food - Chip's is known for its poppy seed hamburger buns. While it's pretty and tasty, the most important part, the patty, is pretty average. Honestly, there are many other great burger joints in Dallas. On the other hand, the fried onion strings are a must order for your side. While I wasn't a fan of the burger, the fried onion strings saved my meal. The Oreo and Fresh Banana shakes were also a nice cold, creamy, sweet ending to my meal. 1 Star. Will I Return? - Yes. I hope Chip's never changes. The restaurant has an iconic look, it's part of Dallas history, and the staff is great. 1 Star.

We tried this Dallas institution for the first time this past week, aaaaannnd...once is enough…read more It's nice to step back a few decades in time, but you expect the food to deliver, and Chip's came up short. We ordered the fried mushrooms to start, and they were so hot that one of us severely burned her lower gums on them. Seriously! A prescription from the dentist was sought; mea culpa but damn. Once they were less volcanic, they were good. We split a burger with fried onions, and it was dry. The meat was overbooked, the bun was over toasted, and the whole thing needed plenty of beer to go down smoothly. The fries are fine, and we did appreciate that they had some steamed broccoli on the menu. Our daughter was happy with her kids cheeseburger meal, and she did like the chocolate-caramel malt shake she scored at the end. A main reason that we're landing on three stars is the ice cream situation. One of us ordered a soft serve vanilla, and nobody told her that the machine was down, so what she got instead was a cup of half melted Blue Bell soup...are you kidding! Thanks for the prompt refund, but letting your customer know what the situation is in advance goes a long way. So, we tried it. Add a notch to the Dallas belt. We wish them well, but we won't be returning. There are better burgers in DFW.

The food is very messy and oily so make sure you bring some hand sanitizer. They packed in a lot of napkins as well. The burger itself was just alright, was a little cold for me though so not so sure how long it was waiting. The lettuce and tomato was a little on the soggy side. The meat itself was just alright.
