Came in for Sunday brunch. The place is being remodeled so we ate outside on the covered patio located in front of the restaurant. The atmosphere outside was very enjoyable. Not too hot with the coverage from above. Menu is extensive. We had 2 dishes & mimosas: Chicken & waffles - Waffles were dense. Not as light & fluffy as we prefer. - Surprised chicken was strips as opposed to actual chicken pieces.The flavor was good but pretty greasy. Crab Cake Benedict - Crab cakes were good, a little bready but again they were flavorful. Mimosas - Beyond the traditional OJ with the champagne they had mimosas with strawberry, grapefruit, or raspberry - We had the strawberry mimosas & they were a highlight of our meal (so we had 2 each). The food was absolutely delicious, although overpriced. We were a party of seven and were told we had to leave, they needed our table for another large party. We hadn't received our bills. One of our party was in the middle of opening gifts. The restaurant was not full. We were told twice by two different managers that we had to leave. Our young waiter was indifferent and rarely seen. We went to lunch at the recommendation of a co-worker. The food is so mediocre, I ordered the crab cake and I couldn't taste any crab, and worse, it's fried and and has a thick crumb. Meh. That was the food here. Unseasoned was another word. Although the waiter was very accommodating and the place itself is kinda cute and comfy...the food was just bland!!! Before coming I searched my yelp to find a close by spot for breakfast/brunch. I met my close gf to get to smacking our lips in some hopefully good food and bump our gums to some great conversation. We got the convo right. The mimosas were decent, but for 6 dollars a flute?...nah fam they weren't THAT good. Our waiter suggested for us to get a carafe, which we did after having one drink each...that was 20 dollars..so if you go, and like mimosas...just start off with a carafe! So what drew me to this place were the pics of the "French toast" style of croissants w/ fresh fruits. I was so underwhelmed...they tasted more like pan fried breads instead of a properly dipped French toast...I also ordered the chicken sausage (I don't eat pork anymore) which was meh...and the pan fried potatoes. I asked for peppers and onions to be added...which they did at no additional cost, I was too excited to get them because they LOOKED good, but were..Yelp you guessed it...not seasoned!! Ima need for them to get some "slap ya mama" on rotation in the kitchen to season things up a bit as well as really dipping their "signature" dish in a properly made custard wash for those croissants! Stopped by here on a Saturday around 4:30. Really great food! I had the Salmon Iceberg Wedge Salad, which was very healthy yet slightly indulgent with a delicious Jalapeño Ranch and side of Orzo Pasta Salad. My boyfriend got the Fried Chicken Sandwich, which I tried and was very impressed with the crisp breading and perfectly cooked chicken. I look forward to to stopping by again in the future. The experience would have been 5 stars if the service was better. We unfortunately had to wait for 10 minutes just to get any service. Once we were acknowledged the service was great. Just a small communication hiccup I guess on who was supposed to take our table on the service side. The hostess was a little short as well which made us feel like we were a nuisance, not sure if she was just overwhelmed with the influx of new guests but a smile can go a long way in the restaurant business. We were celebrating my Dad's 80th birthday. My parents had tried Hungry's at a party and liked the kabobs. So we picked up food for seven of us. It's overpriced. My pasta with no meat was $15. If you see my photo you'll see the serving. It was loaded with capers. They overdid it. Look at the tiny pieces of garlic bread. The large Greek salads by no means can feed three people like the guy taking the order-to-go said. The hummus was too watery. The brussel sprouts with chili sauce were flavorful though and so was the pita-like bread. The bottom line is the quantity and quality don't justify the prices. read more

Came here today for brunch and I'm happy my friend and I chose Hungry's instead of some of the other places we were considering! One reason we chose Hungry's was because we felt it had a better drink selection than some of the other restaurants. To start we both ordered a mimosa flight and they were good! I would say great, but we were slightly disappointed with raspberry. There's four total options (orange, strawberry, raspberry, and grapefruit). I'm personally not a huuuge fan of grapefruit juice so I opted for the other three which was perfect because you only get to choose three flavors for your flight. The orange juice has pulp (I didn't ask beforehand), but still was one of my favorite flavors. I saved the strawberry for last because it was gooood! The raspberry just didn't have as strong of a flavor as I would've liked. My friend agreed that strawberry and orange were her favorites as well so next time I'd probably have two strawberry and one orange. I had the chicken and waffles with scrambled eggs (they come sunny side up, if that's what you prefer) and my friend had the Croissant French Toast with a side of scrambled eggs. I've never had croissant french toast but it tasted really good. The chicken and waffles were pretty good also. The chicken tenders were crispy on the outside, yet tender and juicy. I expected the waffles to taste better but it was still a good meal. I'll definitely keep Hungry's in mind next time if not for brunch & mimosas, then for some of the other things on the menu. Love the friendly inviting ambient that it carry. We went with large group of people and the tip is automatic add on that is why this place gets four stars. We order variety of food. I hear the vegan options was good here. Yeah but no thanks. I ordered the vegan substitute chicken and beef kabob. Although it came with lots of vegetables, the kabob was cook just right. I've been wanting to try this place out and finally got to last weekend. First of all I really liked how modern and clean the inside looked. My friends and I ordered mimosa flyer and got 3 different flavors - strawberry, grapefruit, and orange. My favorite was the strawberry. I ordered the eggs benedict and I was worried that the food might not be as good because of the rating of this place, but when I put the food in my mouth, I was amazed how good it was. It comes on a ciabatta bread and the bread soaked in all the yolk and sauce perfectly. Even the fruits on the side tasted delicious. I also really liked the salmon avocado toast that my friend ordered so I'm definitely going back to try that! I have dined at both Hungry's and prefer this location. Rice Village only has complimentary valet, and this Memorial location has both private and complimentary valet. The parking lines diminished in color so be careful about that.. It's not a big deal though. We were seated promptly and welcomed in both times I have been here for dinner and brunch. Laid back and unpretentious atmosphere. Food: I must comment that food here comes out very quickly. If hungry, add soup or salad for an additional $4! There is complimentary bread and jam/butter in the middle of the restaurant. Sizzling Gyros (3/5, Savory seasoned lamb and beef in a bed of caramelized onions, bell peppers, herb basmati rice, and jalapeño hummus with Tzatziki and two pieces of pita): I must have been extremely hungry because this is definitely a 2 people platter. There were probably 8 pieces of lamb and beef that was more than enough. I made my friend eat some of mine after she finished her plate. I was a fan of the Tzatziki sauce with this dish more than the hummus, maybe because of the cool texture. Personally, I wasn't a big fan of Hungry's jalapeño hummus even alone with the pita bread. You can ask for more pita bread because 2 was not enough. Rice was actually bland but burnt from the sizzling platter. This was served like a fajita plate, if that makes sense. One of Hungry's favorites off its menu. Organic Veggie Quinoa Eggs Benedict (3/5, Two organic quinoa and kale patties with poached eggs topped with honey habanero sauce, with mixed green salad and fresh fruit): I was slightly disappointed with the honey habanero sauce. It wasn't that spicy nor sweet, just there. It was kind of bland honestly. Mixed green salad was decent and the fruits were deliciously sweet. The organic quinoa and kale patties were soft and seasoned nicely. Poached eggs were perfect as well. Croissant French Toast (4/5, Topped with strawberries, banana and maple syrup): This is definitely for those who love sweets if you pour all the maple syrup onto the croissants. It was too sweet in my opinion but delicious! The croissants were fluffy, buttery, and savory... I could have eaten all of them if it wasn't for the syrup. Personally, I would pour about a third of the given syrup and dig in. Order a side of bacon with this!! Waiters were great and offered their own opinions about dishes we queried about. They were around to fill our glasses to the top but not too much where it was excessively annoying. I would definitely come again. Lovely neighborhood restaurant for all with a good selection. I wish they did bottomless mimosas since their mimosas are so amazing ! But they have the next best thing which is a carafe. We got the strawberry carafe which was $20 for about 8 glasses in total. The juice they use is freshly squeezed which makes the drink 10x better. There were tiny bits of strawberry pulp which I loved ! We ordered a delivered lunch from Hungry's Memorial Drive location costing $33 as we often have for the first time in a couple of months. The feta jalapeño dressing on the wedge salads seemed to have little feta or jalapeño in it and there were no longer bacon bits, and very little tomato and cucumber, just a giant wedge of iceberg lettuce. Bland, bland, bland. My husband also said the Mediterranean wrap that came with his salad did not taste as usual either, particularly the tzatziki dressing on it. read more

I saw the vegan features online and tried to order an item from it but they explained that this location won't have the vegan features available untill January 22. So, our server Robert was kind enough to get the manager to come over and help me find vegan items on the regular menu and the manager was kind enough to check with the kitchen staff to be sure my order would be made vegan. I got the Garden of Eatin' veggie wrap, which appears to be vegan as is, and comes with black beans and Spanish rice. All of it was warm and delicious.
