I feel like Roy Rogers when it comes to pizza, I've never met one that I didn't like! Frozen, delivery, deep-dish or thin crust, I'll eat it all. But there are some that are better than others and Hungry Howie's is exactly that, a bit better than your standard chain delivery pizza. This location is the only one in the Triangle, hidden on a corner of Oberlin Road in Five Points. Their pizza specialty is flavored crust with eight tasty flavas! Their pies aren't that big, the large is only 14" but it makes up for it in pizza density! The crust is pretty light and doughy, reminds me a bit of Pizza Hut but a bit better. They go heavy on the toppings which is great, Hungry Howie's uses good ingredients. Overall a very solid pizza that's fresh, tasty and greasy, thumbs up! Hungry Howie's is a step up from Domino's and the Hut but not quite as good as Capital Creations. But you know what, they're super close to me and prices are reasonable ($16 for large Meat-eaters pie), so I may become Chubby Ron in the near future...

Love your pizza, but your toppings have gotten very slim last 3 orders. Pizza below was not "lite" or "normal", it was 2x normal or at least it was supposed to be. Feel like I should get a free pizza as it was kind of a let down.

Large Original Round Pepperoni with Flavored Sesame Seed Crust.

I saw an advertisement in my hotel this evening for the Hungry Howie's on Oberlin, and realized how long it had been since I'd had any - about a decade ago, when I was still living in Florida. Looks like they've come a long way with the online ordering sector since then, and their food is still great. What makes the pizza unique are the free "flavored" crusts that come at no additional charge - you can get sesame seeds, butter, ranch, garlic, etc. All crust types are available, but the traditional round is always great - a little bit on the thicker side, and a little heavy on the mozzarella cheese. The bread is really good too. Definitely recommend.

It was just so, so good. The menu offers a wide variety of pizzas depending on your mood for the day. It was a difficult choice, but we wound up going for The Bambino. Absolutely no regrets, and it was an amazing combination of flavors. They also have a great variety of drink options at an incredible price (cocktails for $10.50 or less, and wine/beer for $8 or less - hello??). Such a great experience and we will be back!

Walking into Timber Pizza it feels like a 90s summer camp vibe with a beautiful pizza oven in the middle of the restaurant and the overall pizza shop felt small/welcoming. We ended up sitting up at the bar and ordered a couple drinks to start. I ordered a pint of the Utica Club Lager which was excellent and very easy to drink. My partner ordered a glass of the Spellbound Pinot Noir which also was great and had a nice finish. For food we ordered the Bambino pizza (spicy honey marinara, mozzarella and provolone blend, fresh mozzarella, all beef meatballs, pesto, garlic oil) which was excellent. The crust was perfectly cooked, along with all of the flavors from the meatballs, garlic oil, pesto, etc. which made this pizza a hit and something we couldn't stop eating. Highly recommend checking out Timber Pizza over in the Five Points area!

If you can't find parking on Person street I recommended parking on a side street and walking. Walking in the pizza shop has a cool, laid back, neighborhood vibe. To be seated you'll want to ask for an open table from the staff. Once seated we ordered a pitcher of Narragansett Pilsner and a small Caesar Salad (housemade dressing, lemon garlic breadcrumb, pecorino). The pils was excellent and wanted to order a little extra beer since it was the weekend. The Caesar was excellent and the portion was plenty of food for two people. For pizza we ordered a pizza with half sausage and half pepperoni. The pizza was huge and we definitely had to take 3/4s of it to go. The pizza itself was good and was a little heavier than I was expecting. If you are in the person street area and looking for pizza, I definitely would check out the Oakwood Pizza box.

For drinks I ordered the Long Island Iced tea (vodka, rum, tequila, gin, triple sec, sour mix, and a splash of cola) and my partner ordered the Appletini (vodka, sour apple pucker, fresh lemon juice, simple syrup). Both drinks were excellent and were nice and smooth. For our entree we split the Chicken Parmigiana with spaghetti. We also ordered a side of spaghetti and it was the perfect amount of food for two people. The chicken parm was seasoned perfectly and may be one of the best I've ever tried. Walking up to Peri Brothers there are two sides: 1) the fast casual New York slice shop or 2) sleek, full service modern Italian restaurant. We opted for the restaurant side and walking the restaurant feels stylish and sophisticated, yet casual. For drinks, I ordered the Paper Plane (Buffalo Trace, Aperol, Amaro, Lemon) and my partner ordered the Blueberry Lemon Martini. Definitely would lean more toward the Blueberry Lemon Martini as the blueberry flavor was excellent. The Paper Plane was good but was missing something. For entrees I ordered the 16 inch with half Flat Iron District (Pizza sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, sausage, meatballs, ham, bacon) and half Peri's Hot Honey Pie (Pizza sauce, fresh mozzarella, ricotta, cupping pepperoni, hot honey, sweet drop peppers, basil) and my partner ordered the Gnocchi Pesto (House made ricotta gnocchi, basil pesto, cream, parmesan). Both dishes were excellent. I'd lean more toward the Flat Iron District as the meat was high quality and was very good. The Gnocchi was also excellent and you could literally drink the sauce. Overall, I'd definitely recommend checking out Peri Brothers up in North Raleigh.

They had a little tap on the patio. So we hopped in line. My friend went inside to see if we could get beer faster. You know divide and conquer. She won, however the line outside was still long so we stayed in line so we could get another. Sure enough by the time we reached the front of the line we were out. So we grabbed a couple more put them on the open tab from inside and walked around. We came back after walking around and decided after seeing everyone walking around with pizza boxes and Togo bags that we would eat here. We knew from being there earlier that they had outside first come seating seat yourself, but it was full so we went inside, turns out that is also first come first serve seat yourself. There was a table getting up as we walked in so we sat down and they were quick to come clean it. The waitress came and too our drink order and we saw her 1 more time after that. Even though they have a scan menu on the table for you to place your order I think they should still check on you. She came at the end to see if we needed her to close out our tab at the bar, we had already taken care of that. We could have used her during our meal. The wedge Cesar was ok, the lettuce was nice and crisp. The Cesar was good. I always get my dressing on the side sometimes when you get a salad it can be overdressed and I don't like that so I don't take chances. The Chicken schnitzel was ok not outstanding. It could use some seasoning. The salad "on top" of it was good. The dressing was really good. Now this roasted broccoli was the star of the table. It was so yumm. I only wish the dressing was on the side. It was so much of it in the top I had to rub some off. Otherwise it was so good. We would have ordered more but having to use the San to order and pay each time I didn't like that so we just ate that and moved on. Maybe we will try the pizza next time.

My husband got a modified pizza since he wanted pepperoni but NOT hot honey. They were willing to accommodate. I was trying to decide between pasta with vodka sauce, and a rice bowl with chicken sausage and roasted chicken. I ended up going with the latter based on a recommendation from our waitress. I will say I'm always hesitant to order chicken at a restaurant because it's usually rubbery and overcooked. Both the chicken and the chicken sausage were cooked to perfection, and the rice was bright and citrusy. Such good flavors! A HUGE portion, easily shareable! My only complaint - I ordered a cocktail that very specifically didn't have anything carbonated in it, because due to a medical condition, I'm not allowed to have it. When I tasted it, it was definitely bubbly. Both my husband and the waitress tried to convince me that it was the egg whites. The waitress did offer to check with the bartender, and it turns out he had topped it off with Prosecco!! They apologized and immediately offered to make it right by making a new drink with ONLY the listed ingredients. The picture doesn't make it look like anything special, but trust me, it was awesome! I would just encourage the bartender to not take creative liberties and add things that weren't listed, you never know when somebody might have an allergy! Other than that, this place was great!
