The pils was excellent and wanted to order a little extra beer since it was the weekend. The Caesar was excellent and the portion was plenty of food for two people. For pizza we ordered a pizza with half sausage and half pepperoni. The pizza was huge and we definitely had to take 3/4s of it to go. The pizza itself was good and was a little heavier than I was expecting. If you are in the person street area and looking for pizza, I definitely would check out the Oakwood Pizza box.

This is NOT a good New York Pizza place. First off I had to deal with the attitude of the Cashier. Fine I could overlook that if the food was good it was not. So we have tried the Cheese Pizza, Margherita Pizza and their Buffalo Wings. So both pizzas were pretty much the same. Dough was ok decent consistency but no real flavor that added anything to the Pizza. Sauce was pretty useless. Even though NY style has light sauce it usually has flavor. This sauce did not. It had zero flavor and you could have had it without it probably would have tasted the same. Cheese was awful. It was hot but it was almost gummy in texture, and again had very little flavor. The only thing that had flavor was the tomatoes and basil which its hard to mess that up. Theirs numerous better pizza places and NY style pizza in Raleigh. Next the chicken wings. They are on the small side which would be ok if they were good. Again they had zero seasoning and zero flavor. They were supposed to be hot wings and you couldnt even taste salt or pepper on the wings. It tasted like completely plain chicken. Texture and cook on the wings were not great either. I have literally had better frozen wings out of a bag before. Yeah they were that bad. Anyways you can find better places in Raleigh just look almost anywhere else. read more

The Margherita was very good. I figured I'd like it, but was a bit surprised how much I'd like it. Thin crust. If you like olive oil and garlic, like I do, you'll appreciate it on this pizza. I think they enhance everything else on the pizza. They are pronounced, but not overpowering. The pizza was not greasy, with the ingredients (fresh spinach, onion, tomatoes) very fresh tasting. The crust was ok, not special, not bad at all, but the toppings definitely made up for it. I think some additional flavoring from yeast would have helped the crust. My wife also really liked the flavor of the pizza. We'll definitely put this on repeat in a future order. My son thought the cheese pizza was good, similar to other pizza restaurants in the area that are not large chain types. Overall, I'm glad I took a chance and now have yet another option for pizza in Wake Forest. I'll be back!
