I had Mario's for dinner a couple of weeks ago and had to come back to try their pizza. I ordered online again via Slice, which is super easy and convenient. My order was expected to be ready in 15 minutes. I arrived and waited about 10 minutes for it to actually be ready, which was fine. I got my pizza and wings home and I was excited to eat them both. The pizza was a little soggy in some spots somehow, but it was good. This was my second time having the wings and they were good again, maybe even better this time. The toppings were fresh and the taste was good. I think I was a little over priced for a personal pizza, but again I enjoyed it. read more

I went to Mario's Pizzeria with a larger group and they made one long table for us which was nice. Instead of having us order at the register, they did their best to provide table service, taking the orders and bringing out the drinks and food. I went with the garlic knots appetizer and the cheese ravioli. My food was very good. The service could have been better. Although they were friendly when I entered, I was ignored at the cash register to pay. We were to tell what we ordered to make easier on the staff for separate checks. There were two registers but it seemed like one wanted to handle everything. I think we too large of a group for the restaurant to handle. I'd return for take out or with a smaller group. read more

I should preface this by stating I did not order what might be considered standard faire for a pizzeria. I ordered the vodka pasta and a sicilian. The vodka was good, overall I think I would order it again if not for the high price of $16 for a bowl of pasta. The sicilian left me disappointed, though, it tasted like cafeteria pizza and the sauce was not my favorite. It's a shame because they do make their dough fresh, but it seems their sicilian is not a star dish. If I were to go back, I'd probably go for just a pepperoni pie, but there's just so many good pizza options around here that I don't see myself coming back to Mario's. Customer service. Ordered 12 zeppole for $10 tipped $5 online. They didn't have the zeppole when I arrived, they don't have it. They offered to replace the zeppole with one cake for 6 dollars and when asked for two 6$dollar cake, the young gentleman at the front asked main cook in the back he said "porque"? They had to call the Owner to add a 3.50 black and white cookie to the 6 dollar cake. The absent accommodation and "porque" is unnecessary with simple thoughts of courtesy. This was basically our last meal on our trip to North Carolina and we enjoyed it very much. For the price the large pizza was a good value and the choice of the night was half pepperoni/half sausage and thankfully Mario's doesn't use crumbled sausage but sliced. Ambiance, it's in a gas station strip mall, but I take nothing away from it based on it. The workers are very nice and there's limited seating, but some. We ordered both a Stromboli and a 1/2 cheese 1/2 pepperoni pizza. The Stromboli was tasty, but the ends have no toppings nor cheese.. just a glorified bread stick. But it was tasty. OK pizza at this new-ish shop. Stopped in on a late Saturday afternoon. We were the only customers. There are 10 tables inside and 4 outside. They offer table service or you can order at the counter and they will bring to the table. Everything was spotlessly clean. Menu easy to read and has all the usual pizza-place staples. The young lady at the counter was super friendly and helpful. Ordered 2 slices and a soft drink. The pizza is NY-style. Crust nicely crunchy and well cooked. The cheese - to-sauce ratio was a little off to my taste, with too much cheese and not enough sauce. The resulting slices were kind of soggy as a result. Not bad pizza, just not as good as it could have been. Next time will try a whole pie, plus some of the other menu items. read more

I ordered a garden salad and garlic knots plus Carol and I split a medium "Chef's Special" NY Style Pizza. The order process was a bit inconvenient mainly because the posted menu was hard for my old man eyes to see, the text was small. I guess I understand why they don't have menus due to the fear of Covid 19. I had to ask for my salad to come to my table before the dinner. This restaurant seems more geared to take out or grub hub delivery than dine-in. There were 3 to 6 people waiting at any time for their take out orders. They only had 5 people working so were super busy. They likely have a problem finding workers like most restaurants. We have to expect long waits due to Our government paying people to not work Our pizza was very good and the garlic knots were exceptional. We will come back yo try their other food soon. read more

I used an app to order a large pepperoni and onion pizza and garlic knots. When I arrived, I was greeted by outstanding customer service and a delightful, little dining room. This was my first time trying this joint and it was starting off good. The food was another story. The pizza was an attempt at a NY style (my favorite). First, the top of the pie was a bit under cooked. Kind of runny without any of the cheese browning. They were very chincy with the toppings so much that neither covered the whole pie. The sauce was almost non-existent with absolutely no flavor and the dough was so thin and undercooked it couldn't hold the toppings in place even when folded to eat. The taste of the crust was decent, but the mouth-feel was only acceptable at the edge where it was a bit thicker. The garlic knot rolls were good though. A bit on the small side and they could of used a little more olive oil but overall had a good taste. The cost of the meal was reasonable for this day and age, but I am not sure if I will give them another chance. I am considering it solely based on their customer service, but they are going to have to step it up to keep this Italian boy coming back. read more

What one FRESH fettuccine Alfredo costed me here would cost me double for a microwave made one at Olive Garden. I got to catch up with my mom here, and it's a good place to talk! Just enough light, but not overwhelming! The noise level is also very comfortable with no aggressive music. They had seating options for babies and food young children could eat, but the menu was anything but boring! Most notable had to be the variety. If you want it, they'll have it! They don't have photos on the menu of any pasta, but just trust that it's to die for. I loved the tasteful red walls and the bathroom was pretty cute. My favorite thing had to be the focal point painting and the lovely greenery! This place is (as far as I could tell) wheelchair accessible and followed the three feet rule. They do not have automatic doors, which is notable. Overall, if you are on the fence on what to get and have an itch for Italian food, PLEASE GO THERE! The overall service was trash from beginning to end ! I was rushed to place my order on the phone and pick it up. When I arrived the cook was not wearing any gloves and touching multiple surfaces in between preparing the food (i .e cleaning). I continued to wait despite the first two red flags , get home and begin eating and the food was not cooked as long as it normally is (I get one thing from there every time I go). Called the next day due to them being closed by the time I got home , spoke to the manager he continued to be rude the entire conversation stating that the food is always the same quality and that the health department doesn't require them to wear gloves. We used to love Mario's, but quite a few times we have brought our large pizza home, and it is over cooked on the bottom. We didn't check that in store. My husband checked in store tonight, and I guess because of lighting he couldn't tell. We noticed at home...again... This happens too often, and we don't have time to take the pizza back, for refund, like their policy states. Disappointing! Figure out what setting your pizza oven should be. This place is phenomenal. Left all of our mouths WATERING. We ordered a cheese pizza, chicken piccata, an antipasto salad, chicken francese, chicken Parmesan, zepoles, and tiramisu. Every single bite was amazing. We loved our entrees. The chicken piccata was nice and Tart with lemon in every bite. They could put more capers but otherwise it was perfect. The chicken Parmesan had so much cheesy goodness. The salad was so good. It had deli meat and provolone cheese on it. It was so fresh. I imagine the Italian sub would be delicious. The cheese pizza was NY style and the kids tore it up. Everything was served in decent sized portions. The zepoles were the only thing I wasn't a fan of. They tasted like they'd been fried in old grease. The tiramisu was frozen in some places. My mom said that the marscapone goes bad quickly and that was probably why so it means it's authentic. It was good, not the best I ever had, but still good. It's a very small serving compared to some Italian restaurants in the area. It was worth every penny we spent though. We were visiting our family who just moved here last week from NJ. Not knowing who to pick, it took me 20 minutes to decide. We are very picky about pizza!! I'm so happy we chose right! We had a simple yet super delicious Plain cheese pie with extra cheese. Did not disappoint! Crust was spot on, and the sauce to cheese was perfect for us. We also ordered a white pizza with Broccoli! This one, too, was super flavorful. There is no time for pictures. Sorry, we gobbled it all up!! Just trust this Jersey girl. It was definitely delicious. We came with our big family and everyone enjoyed the food! The NY style pizza with basil and garlic is to die for! The staff is helpful and friendly, and they try to give you the dine in experience by serving you and taking your order at the table, bringing drinks out, etc. The dining area inside is pretty small but Saturday at lunch time wasn't too busy, mostly people take out. Hard to find a good NY style pizza around here but it hits the spot! Wished they delivered! read more

This is my very first review on here even though I have been using it to read reviews for ages. This is that important. I am from NY as so many others here and as such, I've been on the hunt for superb Italian food since I landed here. I saw the reviews here and had a coupon with UberEats so I took the chance. We ordered chicken parmigiana with spaghetti, garlic knots, zeppoles and tiramisu. The really good news is that we thought the garlic knots were fantastic. Slightly crispy on the top/bottom outside and soft on the inside. Plenty of fresh garlic. Loved them although Prilosec is in order. The zeppoles taste just like the ones I know and love from the Italian festivals in NY. Crispy on the outside, soft/chewy on the inside and loaded with powdered sugar. The tiramisu was also great. This meal was perfect with the exception of the chicken parmigiana. It hurts my heart to say that because this place has some of the best sauce I've ever tasted in my life! I knew when I opened the chicken and was hit with the smell of all the seasonings/basil that it was going to be fantastic. I was right. Could drown in a vat of it. The bad part was the actual chicken. I'm so sad. It was completely overcooked. Like rubber. 100% inedible. I contacted UberEats and got my money back for the chicken which is great. I do think that things were a bit pricey for what you get but I understand that everything has gone up. I'm confident this place can do better so I will definitely order again and try some other things because I suspect they have much more yummy goodness on their menu. read more
