Burnt crust on the corners couldn't even be eaten.

Super disappointed tonight ... placed an order at 3 pm to have it delivered at 5 pm because we needed to eat at 5 pm. At 445, i check the app which says it will arrive at 530 . But then it changes to 6 pm .. then to 610 pm!! When i call i am told Slice now uses Uber and I should call so they can deliver it vs Uber. Uber driver tells me she waited till almost 530 pm for the order to be ready. My receipt on the pizza clearly says 5 pm. It arrives luke warm of course and 1 was overcooked! No apology or offer other than to blame it on the Slice app and Uber. Customer service was very bad when it arrives 90 mins late!

After the Johnny's Pizza event in Cary, I decided it was time to visit the Wake Forest location. It is located in the Harris Teeter Shopping Center off of Capital Blvd. The menu is large and offers wings; pizzas; pastas; salads; subs and more. I went with the New York White. It has an olive oil and garlic base and topped with mozzarella and ricotta cheese. The slices are large with a generous amount of toppings. I ordered it to go and it was ready pretty quick and still piping hot by the time I got home with it. Service was friendly and I will be back to try more of the pizzas and other menu items.

Johnnys basically bare with food and mozzarella filling! Create Your Own Stromboli

February 10, 2025. The day after superbowl. My meal from this establishment cost about $25.00. I ordered brushetta and a stromboli. Stromboli? Absolutely not. Johnny's stromboli is " their" version of stromboli. It's a calzone. My " stromboli" was burnt black on the bottom. Inedible. Could not bite thru. Their was barely anything in it of substance except lots of mozzarella as a filler. It was so chopped and cooked it would not stay on the bread. I had guests that also ordered over $100.00 dollars on stromboli and cannolis too. N with ingredients inside. Me? My meal was inedible. I'm 64, from NY, and this place is selling their versions. I was starving and got up to cook myself something at kick off. I called Johnny's today. Crazy me. I thought they'd have a slight interest when you call to solve the problem due to to an inedible meal. I had taken photos too to show them! Kid you not, not the slightest interest including the manager. They had two chances to speak to me. They did not. Instead, the woman on the phone kept up in a stern voice basically saying, " We're sorry there is nothing we're going to do. Wow!!! The lady was busy with a customer. I asked her to call back when she wasn't busy. She called back right away. Same attitude. It's pretty ugly. Our last 3 or 5 pizzas we've received in the past, 3 pizzas were burned crust on one side and the other side almost looking done. We never complain about anything. However, after 3 pizzas and their so called stromboli were not turned in the oven halfway through and burned or overcooked on one side. It is pure laziness not to turn a pizza halfway through in an oven. Hello! I cook. When pizza places cook their pizza as if they had a wood burning oven. That is cheap too. Btw... just to be honest, I was aware Superbowl was the next day and called around noon Saturday before game day knowing Johnny's would be busy and overwhelmed. I "politely" asked Johnny's of Wake Forest how and when to order our meal. I knew "real" stromboli is different and needs prep time and to cook different too. I was told to call at noon on game day and place the order with a pick up time. What more does take- out require? Also we arrived early to wait for pick up. My review? I'm not going back. It cost $25.00 for my meal and a generous tip. $25.00! And inedible. And basically told in a stern manner....oh well.... My husband and our 3 guests will all write reviews. What a racket! L.F

Spaghetti was good and so was the mozzarella sticks. I wish I added meat to the Spaghetti sauce but maybe next time.

Shannon was humorous, kind and explained the menu very thoroughly so that we understood. In addition, he asked us what brought us to Amalia's and catered to our occasion. While we were in town for a wedding, we also were celebrating some home wins as well which Shannon took note of and gave us complimentary drinks at the end of our evening which was so kind. We started our evening off with some NA mocktails made in house which resembled a mojito. There were fresh strawberries and a lime wedge on top of the cup. I appreciated that this drink wasn't overly sugary and was the perfect blend of refreshing we needed especially after a flight. From there, we got complimentary house bread which was outstanding as it contained oil and onions baked in. Delicious! Shannon explained the menu was tapas style or small plate. We lead with the zucchini appetizer which had pistachios on top and were given suggestions on how to eat it. We went with the sushi method and ended up rolling the thinly sliced zucchini with a fork and it was perfect!! A very fun experience and such a unique menu option. For our main dishes, my husband has the steak and mashed potato special while I had the truffle cavatelli with sausage. Both items were out of this word and the perfect portion size. Shannon knew we loved the bread and brought us more to our table even though I'm fairly certain that is supposed to be for the beginning of the coursing. While our bellies were too stuffed for dessert right then and there, we did get cannolis to go and they are currently up in our fridge. We look forward to trying! We were able to see the other patrons order dinner in house and the entire layout is a production. If you have the chance and room for dessert, I highly recommend because the staff prepares it for you at your table. In addition, there are lovely coffee pairings with each dessert as an option as well. **Note: Amalia's does not carry red sauce. Many of the pastas are white sauce by design. This was not a deal breaker for us but it might be for someone else. Thank you, Amalia's! You were exactly the Italian cuisine we craved!

We ordered our drinks and she returned with them. We told Chloe we were visiting from out of town and gave us complimentary garlic dots. Our table ordered a small specialty pizza called "The Stanley Cup" it had Canadian bacon, crispy bacon bits, chicken, and cheddar and mozzarella cheese and drizzled with a buffalo sauce, 10 piece bbq wings with ranch dip, I ordered the basil pesto tortellini with salmon and asked for the Kalamata olives on the side and it came with garlic bread and lastly one person ordered a 8 inch build your own pizza with pepperoni, chicken, olives, mushrooms, onions, garlic aioli sauce instead of red sauce, and Parmesan cheese. My salmon was cooked perfectly and the pasta and sauce was delicious. I did add a little salt but I don't like olives so since I gave them to another person in my party if they had been in my pasta that probably would have cured the salt issue. It was still amazing! The garlic bread that came with it was grilled just not buttered enough so I asked for extra. The wings I got one of were good and sauced and had a crispy exterior and juicy inside. I didn't taste the build your own pizza but he ate it all so that says it was good. I did taste a slice of the Stanley and it was good. The buffalo I could handle and I don't care for spicy but it wasn't too much for me. I would say it could have been cooked just a little longer. Still delicious and flavorful!! The garlic dots!!! I would make a trip just for those. Crispy exterior and soft cooked dough on the his inside and their garlic butter made with fresh garlic and the sauce!! Amazing!!! Definitely a keeper! Also got a slice of cheesecake to go! Yum!

We ended up bringing home half of the mushrooms and 3/4 of the steakhouse mac & cheese.
