Burnt crust on the corners couldn't even be eaten.

Super disappointed tonight ... placed an order at 3 pm to have it delivered at 5 pm because we needed to eat at 5 pm. At 445, i check the app which says it will arrive at 530 . But then it changes to 6 pm .. then to 610 pm!! When i call i am told Slice now uses Uber and I should call so they can deliver it vs Uber. Uber driver tells me she waited till almost 530 pm for the order to be ready. My receipt on the pizza clearly says 5 pm. It arrives luke warm of course and 1 was overcooked! No apology or offer other than to blame it on the Slice app and Uber. Customer service was very bad when it arrives 90 mins late!

After the Johnny's Pizza event in Cary, I decided it was time to visit the Wake Forest location. It is located in the Harris Teeter Shopping Center off of Capital Blvd. The menu is large and offers wings; pizzas; pastas; salads; subs and more. I went with the New York White. It has an olive oil and garlic base and topped with mozzarella and ricotta cheese. The slices are large with a generous amount of toppings. I ordered it to go and it was ready pretty quick and still piping hot by the time I got home with it. Service was friendly and I will be back to try more of the pizzas and other menu items.

Johnnys basically bare with food and mozzarella filling! Create Your Own Stromboli

February 10, 2025. The day after superbowl. My meal from this establishment cost about $25.00. I ordered brushetta and a stromboli. Stromboli? Absolutely not. Johnny's stromboli is " their" version of stromboli. It's a calzone. My " stromboli" was burnt black on the bottom. Inedible. Could not bite thru. Their was barely anything in it of substance except lots of mozzarella as a filler. It was so chopped and cooked it would not stay on the bread. I had guests that also ordered over $100.00 dollars on stromboli and cannolis too. N with ingredients inside. Me? My meal was inedible. I'm 64, from NY, and this place is selling their versions. I was starving and got up to cook myself something at kick off. I called Johnny's today. Crazy me. I thought they'd have a slight interest when you call to solve the problem due to to an inedible meal. I had taken photos too to show them! Kid you not, not the slightest interest including the manager. They had two chances to speak to me. They did not. Instead, the woman on the phone kept up in a stern voice basically saying, " We're sorry there is nothing we're going to do. Wow!!! The lady was busy with a customer. I asked her to call back when she wasn't busy. She called back right away. Same attitude. It's pretty ugly. Our last 3 or 5 pizzas we've received in the past, 3 pizzas were burned crust on one side and the other side almost looking done. We never complain about anything. However, after 3 pizzas and their so called stromboli were not turned in the oven halfway through and burned or overcooked on one side. It is pure laziness not to turn a pizza halfway through in an oven. Hello! I cook. When pizza places cook their pizza as if they had a wood burning oven. That is cheap too. Btw... just to be honest, I was aware Superbowl was the next day and called around noon Saturday before game day knowing Johnny's would be busy and overwhelmed. I "politely" asked Johnny's of Wake Forest how and when to order our meal. I knew "real" stromboli is different and needs prep time and to cook different too. I was told to call at noon on game day and place the order with a pick up time. What more does take- out require? Also we arrived early to wait for pick up. My review? I'm not going back. It cost $25.00 for my meal and a generous tip. $25.00! And inedible. And basically told in a stern manner....oh well.... My husband and our 3 guests will all write reviews. What a racket! L.F

Spaghetti was good and so was the mozzarella sticks. I wish I added meat to the Spaghetti sauce but maybe next time.

Vlad here with another downtown Wake Forest eatery review!…read more White Story Cafe is on the corner of South White & East Wait Streets, sharing a bright, airy space with The Burger Shop, a separate eatery I will review in coming weeks. (For those of you familiar with the area, another eatery called The Lemon Tree used to occupy this space.) Women-owned, White Story offers fresh takes on standard cafe items - paninis, sandwiches, salad, soups and a variety of breakfast options. (See menu pics for more details and pricing). In the very relaxing ambience with bright and cozy seating, we enjoyed excellent service from Apple, one of the owners. Paul and I both had the Morning Waffle Special: a tender tasty waffle with a deliciously crispy crust, topped with a fresh egg as you like it, crispy smoked bacon and fresh avocado slices - let's just say both our plates were clean! The sweet Thai tea was fresh and paired perfectly with our meals. The hours are varied, check the website (or menu pic) and prepare to enjoy light and refreshing fare in a welcoming space - leisurely catching up with friends over the fresh-baked treats and coffee or noshing with a current read. Y'all know me now - I like the smaller, intimate places off the beaten path yet close to everything - this place is a gem for you to try!

Great addition to downtown Wake Forest food scene…read more This spot shares dining space with the Burger Shoppe on S. White St. Order at the counter, the food is served to your table. It's a fairly extensive menu for breakfast. Time from order to service about 10 minutes. Food is good! Tried chicken and waffle. It's a plate-sized waffle, freshly made, topped with breaded chicken. Chicken is tender but a little dry. Nothing that a nice helping of maple syrup didn't fix. Also tried the morning waffle special. This is a waffle, topped with an egg, bacon and avocado slices. Served piping hot, freshly cooked and a sizable portion. Always good to have more quality dining choices in town. I'll be back!

We live in North Raleigh but regularly do our shopping in Wake Forest because it's so convenient,…read moreand once we're there, everything is close by, including lunch. The two of us eat at Over the Falls regularly and always enjoy it. I'm honestly surprised I hadn't written a review before. Lunch for two came to $65.80 + tax and tip, and there was more than enough food. I ordered one of my two favorites: the Ahi Tuna Pita (the other favorite is the blue cheese burger). I paired it with a side salad and blue cheese dressing, plus an unsweetened iced tea with lemon. My wife ordered The Barrel, their Philly cheesesteak, with a side of sweet potato fries. We also shared an order of house-made potato skins. It was far too much food, in a good way, and we took plenty home. Service was outstanding and truly a team effort. One moment stood out: when my wife hesitated to ask for sour cream for the potato skins, our server immediately said, "It's just 15 steps, let me get it for you." That small gesture made a big difference. The rest of the team was equally warm, friendly, and attentive. The ambiance works perfectly for us, lively, busy, and welcoming without feeling chaotic. I would be confident ordering virtually anything from the menu. We'll keep coming back.

Outstanding Wake Forest Eatery…read more Over the Falls features award-winning Specialty Salads, Sandwiches, Burgers, Pizza, Wings & Entrees; plus 12 Craft Draft Beers along with an Extensive Bourbon List, Handcrafted Cocktails & Mules. It's always crowded, does not accept reservations and does not have a bar or inside waiting area. You must register with the hostess, then wait outside (or in your car) until you receive a text that your table is ready. While this is inconvenient and unpleasant, the mouthwatering food is worth the trouble. One of our favorites is the Three Sisters Salad- which includes a generous scoop of either House-made Chicken Salad, Avocado Chicken Salad or Tuna Salad (we chose the Avocado), plus a large mound of Broccoli Salad, Fresh Fruit and a Flakey Honey-drizzled Croissant. Another winner was the Flash-fried Calamari & Banana Peppers. The substantial serving of Rhode Island Calamari was crispy, oh so tender and perfectly seasoned - with Thai Chili and Marinara dipping sauces. We also recommend the Cali Pastrami Sandwich and the Bacon & Cheddar Cheeseburger. Both come with a Pickle & either House-Made Potato Chips, Tortilla Chips, French Fries, Macaroni Salad or Cole Slaw. The NY Navel Pastrami was topped with Fried Onions, Habanero Jack Cheese, Chipotle Mayo and Avocado and piled high on a flaky, chewy golden brown Pretzel Roll. The big juicy Burger included Lettuce, Tomato, Red Onion and several slices of crispy Bacon.
