An OK spot for pizzeria fare in WF. It's a big place, at least 25 tables. Decor is Americana-kitsch. (Think Cracker Barrel). Also features a prominently displayed political flag - guaranteed to antagonize 50% of the patrons which to me doesn't make sense. And could very well explain why it wasn't very busy on this Friday night. Service is fantastic. The young lady helping us was professional and efficient. Food came quick, order was correct and she made sure our glasses were never empty. Food is ok. Didn't order pizza, as was in the mood for other Italian specialties. The garlic knots were interesting. Reminded me of crescent rolls made out of pizza dough. They're served dry, with a cup of garlic butter dipping sauce. Tasty enough, but not really how I envisioned them, slathered in butter with chunks of garlic, served in a basket. Baked ziti was ok but bland. Pasta slightly overcooked so it was mushy. Sauce is good though, a little sweet. Similar experience with the fettucine. Fettucine cooked right, sauce didn't have any zest to it. Will give another try, next time to taste the pizza. Finally made our way to Patronies, we ordered onion rings, a personal white and a personal cheese. And mini cannolis! Restaurant is super cute and the employees were all very friendly and welcoming. Order was ready for pickup at the right time, no wait. Pizzas were good, we do tend to like our white pizza with ricotta (my fault for not paying attention) and it was not as garlicky as we like but good overall. Onion rings were scrumptious and the mini cannolis were very good! Plenty of parking and great location. We will definitely be back! read more

Enjoyed coming here for lunch (& card games) with friends. GREAT staff , great food, many choices. Large dining room, great rest room. terrific location and plenty of free parking. I took my daughter here for the first time. This is such a nice, clean, and laid back local pizzeria. The pizza was really good, and the pepperoni they use is fantastic. What really surprised me was the garlic knots. I'm not the biggest fan of garlic knots, but these are different. They're baked fresh, and come out dry, but it's served with a side of their homemade garlic Parmesan sauce that you dip them in. It's so addicting. It took me a couple of years but glad I found this spot. Best pizza in Wake Forest for sure! Their dill pickle bread is awesome too if you like pickles. Sometimes I'll ask them to make half a pizza the same way they make that bread. Best of both worlds. Highly recommend anything they have! Cool sit down spot too if you have the time. Teetering between a 3 and 4, really more like a 3 1/2. The ambience is nice and clean, with indoor and outdoor seating. The service was definitely great, although it took awhile for our order to come out. Was pretty crowded as it's the newest pizza place to hit the area. The hours are a bit shorter than most places as it's open from 4-9 5 days a week. As for the pizza, let me preface this by saying I'm a New York pizza snob and that makes it hard to come close to my standard. They're story is that they are from Brooklyn. To me, the pizza was just ok, not mind blowing, not horrible, just ok. 3 star. It's a sauce thing to me. A bit too sweet and too saucy and needing more cheese. The dipping sauce for the garlic knots was very buttery and nice change from the usual marinara. The cannolis were perfection. They do offer several other pasta dishes and heroes so I might try those next time. read more

We've given Patronies in Wake Forest two chances to show us its convenient location should make it the reason we dine in or order our pizza there. Unfortunately, Patronies continues to give us reasons to go elsewhere. Our primary issues is the dine-in service and the value. Patronies have a large dine in. Seating area with table service (not counter). However, they serve its customers on the thinnest one-ply paper plates available. My family does not appreciate going out for a sit down meal and being served on cheap paper plates. If I'm sitting down for table service with a server taking my order at my table, at least serve me on real plates. Price and quality is the second issue. First they only sell pizzas up to 14", but charge the same price that other local pizzerias charge for 18" pizzas. Unfortunately, the pizza itself is only mediocre, and they cut corners. As an example, we ordered garlic knots. We were served dry pieces of pizza dough (knotted), with a cold condiment to go container of what was supposed to be the garlic buttter - except it was cold and had a terrible chemical taste (clearly not fresh). While I do have high standards due to being from NY and having my own pizza oven at home, I do look at this through the lens of other pizzerias in the area, and the price point. If you can't take the time to serve dine in guests on real plates, or to toss garlic knots in the garlic butter, then you are telling you have no time or interest to delight your customers. And that means I have no desire to return! I wanted to like Patronies because it's the closest to our house, but I can't. It's just a high-priced, corner-cutting, pizza joint with low quality food. read more

Really wanted to order from this place but they don't deliver so we would've had to DoorDash. I wanted 3 pizzas, but you can't order a cheese pizza with the toppings you want because they are not listed even though they have them for specialty pizzas. My review is based solely on Take out. We called once about 25 minutes before they closed to find out their hours. We called back at about 20 minutes before they closed to see if it was too late to order takeout. Madison was very pleasant both times and gladly took our order. We picked up our order a few minutes before they closed and it was hot and fresh. We had a pepperoni and extra cheese. It was cooked perfectly and had a good flavor. We will definitely order again. Tried Patronies Pizza tonight and was disappointed on the food. We ordered a cheese and a pepperoni pizza along with a calzone. We thought the pizza was bland and had too much sauce for our taste. The calzone was good but was given the wrong dipping sauce that was ordered. I understand that everyone has their own taste. However, we weren't impressed. We love this pizza place! After countless messed up orders from our usual pizza place, we decided to give patronies a try! Their pizza is delicious-the sauce is sweet. We usually enjoy a lightly sauced pizza, but the heavier hand on the sauce has surprisingly been really enjoyable. Everyone who works there has always been kind and the service is always quick and wonderful! The interior is such a cool throwback. There are vintage items and signs everywhere; I find myself just looking at all of the cool stuff they have in it. We also ordered extra toppings and they loaded it up. My husband and I joked that it was the first time we have asked for "extra xyz" at any restaurant and actually got it! Found our new pizza home for sure! read more

However just above our table was a large banner for "Trump....2024." Petronie's manager is certainly entitled to his/her political views, however, it would be nice to simply be able to sit down for lunch and not have to be distracted by reminders of our political division. I would feel the same way were the banner for Kamala Harris. I'm sorry to say that the food wasn't very good. It wasn't awful, but it just wasn't good. I'd call it below average for pizza around here (and that's not saying much), verging on Dominos or Papa Johns quality. The dough is just bad - that's a big part of the disappointment for us. Being from NY... this is nothing like NY pizza. On the positive side, the people were very nice and the service was good, attentive. Unfortunately, we won't be returning. We had a small group and we were able to order a variety of food from a surprisingly large menu. Meatballs were some of the best I've had. Try the cheese bread with dill pickles. I had the meat lovers pizza. It has been difficult to get pizza with a good crust in the area. Both the sauce and crust were some of the best. Highly recommend that you give Patronies in Wake Forest. Very disappointed is the first thing that comes to mind. This place claims to be Italian owned and from Brooklyn, NY. Not sure if that's an outright lie or these people only spent a few minutes in Brooklyn. The pizza is comparable to all the chain fast food pizza places (papa Johns, dominos, Marcos etc). The dough was too thick and had no taste or good crunch to it. The cheese was of low quality. The sauce wasn't terrible atleast. We got 5 mozzarella sticks that u can tell come out of a frozen bag and they charged $9 for a Caesar salad that was drowned in dressing and very small. This area is in desperate need of a real authentic NY style slice spot, and sad to say this place doesn't come close to that. read more

I literally never write reviews but this place is so ass I literally downloaded yelp because I don't want y'all to make the same mistakes. I really didn't know it was possible to make pizza taste so bad. My mom and I ordered from here instead of our usual Marco's and despite the restaurant being sat literally right next to our neighborhood the food arrived cold. This was a Tuesday and the parking lot was empty. I got a Hawaiian and both the ham and pineapple weren't cooked at all, just canned pieces and ham slices too big to get in one bite thrown straight on top of a cheese pizza. My mom got a No 4 calzone and she received a No 2 with half the filings missing. But the worst part was unequivocally the crust. I didn't think you could mess up crust so horribly. I know people say it tastes like cardboard as a euphemism, but this crust tasted like literal, actual, delivery box cardboard. It wasn't chewy or crispy, but instead impossibly tough and took a good couple minutes to get through a single bite. There was no seasoning either on or in the crust, just bland, grey, used chewing gum. Whatever we were served here should be considered a crime against humanity. If you're thinking of eating here you'd be better off doordashing Tostinos. read more
