My wife and I are huge fans of Randy's cheesesteaks. The secret has been the bun. So this evening we decided to do our usual: shared cheesesteak combo with fries to eat there. Tonight was not their best work despite there being nobody else in the dining room. They forgot we were waiting and the food was just about cold with nothing from the manager other than we are busy. No offer to replace the fries or anything. The gall is their payment system asks for a tip up front when you pay. Waste of $20+. My wife says she noticed the lady who used to manage this location is no longer there and things have gone down hill. They are off our list for a bit. Moved to Raleigh from NYC and was told the pizza here is just as good. Had a 16'' half pepperoni pie. The cheese is good and not overly greasy. My only small knocks is that there's not really much sauce on it besides what you see on the border of the crust/cheese and the dough needs another minute in the oven to replicate that crispy NYC style crust. I ordered three 16 inch pizzas. When I paid, they gave me two 16 inch and one smaller, maybe 14. I pointed out that they had given me the wrong pizza. They had my address for 50 min yet waited to call and inform me that won't deliver. I have a feeling they are just lazy because they close at 9pm and didn't want to make the effort. I have visited Randy's in the past, but 1st time at this Wycliff Rd location. I ordered a cheese slice for dine in and then noticed not even 1 of the 10 available tables were clean. After waiting almost 15 minutes for my plain cheese slice, it is finally served to me looking undesirable and dryer than a cracker. I was soo heartbroken because I was looking forward to the Randy's quality slices that I had grown to love from other locations not this stale leftover pizza from hours and hours ago. We came in here on Friday evening, I was looking for something inexpensive and close by. This is conveniently located in a plaza with a Food Lion. Long story short, I'd say the 4 star rating is totally accurate. Having been a New Yorker for most of my life, I'm picky about pizza, but I lived in California for a while and had some of the most vile slices ever out there. So my standards aren't ridiculously high anymore. I have a bit of an aversion to eating reheated pizza slices when I'm trying a new place for the first time, so we did order a whole pie. We went for the next size up from the small and it was HUGE, probably ideal for two adults and two kids. We were happy to have leftovers for breakfast the next day though. We paid a total of $21 for two pints of beer and our huge pizza. This is a solid, proper NY style pizza. The crust is what it should be, has a lighter amount of toppings, but it still tasty. There isn't a WOW this is the best pizza ever factor to it, but it's pretty darn good for the south. We will definitely be back and I recommend coming here if you are longing for a NY style pie. read more

Other lacked seasoning...reheated in oven to cook more and added salt, pepper and oregano for flavor, which made it better. But overall disappointing and wouldn't recommend. Randys pizza is just what I needed being so far away from home. New Yorkers know that when someone says NYC style pizza it's a hit or miss. Honestly, we ate it when we were here last time and I totally forgot the name of it. So, I was in Durham and trying to figure out what the name of this pizza shop but I was only getting pizza shops in Durham. That didn't help because I needed it to be more location specific so I could find it AnyWho we're back in Raleigh. Guess what I found it. It was a Friday night and I was just running to grab something to drink, and I happened to be in the same shopping center that it was in. Meanwhile, I had called earlier only to be on hold for a very long time to find out that the wait time would be 50 minutes for takeout. I couldn't consent to that timeframe because I knew my husband was hungry. So, I called him, and when I walked out of the store, I saw that Randy's pizzeria was right there. Talk about serendipity! so I go in and I order inside because they told me that it was going to be only 15 minutes to get my order yippee so if ever you want to get some thing a lot faster go in to get it from takeout don't call it in and yeah that's the difference between 15 and 50, 35, yeah. The young lady at the counter was personable and professional. The restaurant is more of a takeout type of place even though there is limited seating. I enjoy the pizza so I will be back. Thank you Randy whoever you are. We went with the Supreme and the reason I held a star is it didn't have any mushrooms. read more

I've had two recent bad experiences with Randy's Pizza at Lake Boone. Their pizza had been good, though pricey, but this place is on the decline. I'll never order from them again. In November 2023 I ordered a pizza to be delivered to my home (I live less than 2 miles from their Lake Boone store). The pizza never arrived. Repeated calls to the store yielded no results, except to get a credit. I ended up going to HarrisTeeter and buying a pizza from them (for 1/2 the cost). On 3/21/2024 I decided to give them another chance. I ordered a pizza from Randy's at Lake Boone. I ordered ahead, for a 6 pm pickup. I picked it up at 6:05 pm. The pizza was cold and dry. It was supposed to have basil on it. There was one piece. I gave them written feedback, but have not heard from them. Two days later, I ordered a pizza from Mellow Mushroom on Peace Street in Raleigh. A better pizza for less money. read more

LAKE BOONE TRAIL. Our first pizza with Randy's was great and had no complaints. Our second we ordered online at 5:00 PM pickup was 6:20. I showed up 6:30 finally left 7:30 with pizza. I asked about 4 times where pizza was in the process. Each time he told me was oven so I eventually inquired HOW LONG to cook he refused to respond. Later I found out was never in oven he lied to me. I asked him again how long he refused to tell me stating others were ahead of me- mine was now 1 full hour later than pickup time of 6:20. Look I don't give a shit if people are honest and just say I am sorry will be another 40 minutes but don't f'in lie to me OK? Finally quality pizza was VERY different VERY poor versus first time. We ain't goin back!!! I hate liars. Oh I asked him repeatedly to just give me ANY 18" pizza stacked under the heat lamp even with no toppings and he refused. If he had half a brain he would have known I was the angry customer he should satisfy versus others who hadn't come by yet. read more

Not that hungry? Substitute a couple of garlic knots for one of those slices and still pay only $7. The crust is fabulous, and the combination of toppings, cheese, and sauce is on point.
