I love me some Hungry Bros. One of my favorite local food trucks to spot when I'm out and about, my first time having was at Bunbury a few years back and I always enjoy seeing it around the city! This most recent taste was for the food truck rally voting down by The Banks for this years Taste of Cincinnati. My friend had never experienced their take on waffle fries so I knew it was a must try for her while we were at the event. We decided to go with the Vladimir poutine which is root beer and dried cherry braised lamb gravy, Wisconsin cheese curds and the option to add a fried egg which we went without. While making our way to the front of the line my friend made the impulse decision to get the fried cheesecake which was food porn goals if I do say so myself. The fried cheesecake is topped with a strawberry preserve topping which is a delicious touch. I cannot wait for my next stop to see them and hopefully it's bunbury this year. However I know it will be their first year at the Taste of Cincinnati on Memorial Day weekend. If you haven't experienced these waffle fries make it an effort to this summer! You won't regret it.

Vladimir Poutine

Out of the 10+ food trucks lined up on 2nd Street, among the bustling downtown lunch crowd, Hungry Bros' menu is what caught my eye - namely the word "poutine." I always try the poutine at a new restaurant I visit and this time was no different! Their Vladimir Poutine ($9) was DELICIOUS! The seasoned waffle fries were a touch on the salty side but the slight sweetness of the lamb/gravy combination tempered it a bit. (Lamb is braised in root beer and dried cherry!) Also, there was a perfectly cooked fried egg to top this masterpiece. Here are some other thoughts: Price: Main dishes range from $8-9. Side of fries and ice cream floats are $5. Drinks are $2. You can find cheaper food but overall this is the expected prices for a food truck . I'm definitely not complaining! (They give hugs for free!) Service: Really fast service keeps your food hot. The guy taking orders today (didn't hear his name) was super friendly and cheery. Definitely made a positive impression! Food: See above (tldr; Vladimir poutine is delish). Other options on the menu include waffle fries with chicken, ranch and bacon (Kevin Bacon Ranch) and braised lamb sliders! If you come across this food truck, definitely give it a go!

So glad Hungry Bros came to my office for food truck day! It's clear that their Kevin Bacon Ranch is the most popular (seasoned waffles fries topped with ranch, chicken, and of course, bacon) but I opted for the chicken curry pita (served with a side of waffle fries). This was delicious - the flavors of coconut, cilantro, and scallions blended perfectly together! And the waffles fries are amazing, the seasoning reminds me of Arby's curly fries. Definitely check this truck out when you get a chance!

Drink selection. Note and most importantly Dr. Browns root beer & black cherry soda. Also, Ale 8.

I have been waiting for Hungry Bros food truck to open in full force and yesterday on opening day was their "Grand Opening". So when seeing that they were parked in OTR while we were in Washington Park my boyfriend and I made it a small mission to go and find them. I must say, the mission was a success. Their menu had four items on it that day and the first one and the one we automatically decided on trying was the Breakfast Poutine. When handed to us through the truck window with two forks stuck in it my boyfriend and I geeked out from how amazing it just looked. We went and found our place for the parade and sat and took a bite of our Breakfast Poutine. That bite turned into us inhaling the whole thing. The Breakfast Poutine is the best food I've had in a long time from a food truck. Their menu looks to me very unique for a food truck menu. Other bonuses, the guys running the truck are really nice and cool. They seem to be enjoying what they are doing. Also, they have Dr. Browns soda and Ale 8. Basically the best non-alcoholic drinks ever. I can't wait to catch them again and try some of their other food items. Even if you are over this food truck craze like I am, if you see Hungry Bros parked I suggest you try it.

I was really looking forward to trying the Dirty Fries, (formerly known as the Vladimir Poutine.) Unfortunately the Dirty Fries were not on the menu tonight. Since reviews for those fries are actually what drove our attending the Food Truck festival in Blue Ash, I knew I still wanted to try something. We ended up settling on fries that were topped with Mac and cheese. I do not remember the name of them. They were supposed to be topped with bacon as well, but we ordered them without it. The fries themselves were delicious. They are a seasoned waffle fry. Fries were large in size, and held up to the toppings. I would give the fries by themselves 4 stars easily. Part of what brought our experience down a star was the mac and cheese on top. Plain noodles topped with cheese sauce did not really work as a fry topping. It was not really Mac and cheese. More macaroni topped with cheese sauce. It resulted in some bites having plain noodles with only a bit of cheese. The other part that brought this review down a star was the service. While I do not expect much in the way of customer service from food trucks, the woman taking orders made it seem like ordering was interrupting her conversation with whomever was cooking inside. The whole transaction seemed to be interrupting her conversation. If we were somewhere where Hungry Bros was, I am still curious enough to try the Dirty Fries. Hopefully I will get to try them, and will be able to update this review.

Vladimir poutine! Get it!

I had Hungry Bros when I was at Bunbury Music Fest. I had to wait in line for almost 20 minutes for these fries, but they were so good I went back for MORE (yes, I waited in that line again)! That's how you know this place is a real winner. They change their menu regularly, but I've had a few items and I will rank the ones I've tried in order of favorite to least favorite: 1. VLADIMIR POUTINE - Good god the Vladimir Poutine is awesome! Not only is that name just the punniest name for food ever, but this dish just blew me away! The waffles fries were cooked perfectly (crispy, but nice and fluffy on the inside, with a golden crust similar to Rally's fries), the gravy on it was just the bomb, then cheese curds, and a freakin fried egg on top of it! It's like a flavor explosion in your mouth. Get this. Honestly, if they only served the Vladimir Poutine this place would be a 5 star food truck. 2. Kevin Bacon Ranch - Another very punny name, thank you for being clever Hungry Bros. This dish had waffle fries, ranch, bacon, and chicken. The flavor was good, but it was a little dry and the chicken was overcooked. Overall, a good dish, but I would much rather have the poutine. 3. Waffle Fry Sundae - A bold idea that to me didn't pay off. I wanted it to work, just cause it was so crazy! But it didn't...Waffle fries plus chocolate ice cream, homemade chocolate sauce, candied bacon, and whipped cream. I was hoping for a balance of sweet and salty, but all I got was ice cream melting into my french fries and making them extra sugary and mushy. No bueno. Overall, the food ranged from REALLY GREAT to meh, but I love that they are taking chances and trying new things! I will come back and try the reuben fries because I hear those are the real deal. If you can't find Hungry Bros, make sure you follow them on Instagram @hungrybrosfoodtruck. They're always updating where they're going to be that day!

The space is open, bright and well decorated making it very inviting for brunch. You order at the counter from the menus placed along the wall then food is delivered to your table. The various brunch items all sounded very inviting so I was having trouble deciding what to order. So I got a recommendation to try the Shakshuka. Not sure how to pronounce it but when it arrived it was just the right portion and quite tasty for brunch. It's a bowl with a red pepper sauce and feta cheese and kale along with eggs sunny side up. The dish is served with pita so you can do a little bit of dipping in the tasty sauce. To accompany our food we selected the mimosa service and bloody mary pitcher. A pitcher is just perfect for sharing. And the mimosa service was delightful. The server arrived with a bottle of Prosecco and small carafes of orange, grapefruit and blood orange juices to mix yourself. The food was fresh and tasty with prompt delivery of our food to our table. Not quite a full service restaurant since you have to order at the counter but still a nice experience located downtown.

From the moment we arrived, the hostesses were warm and accommodating, and the service throughout the meal was attentive without ever feeling intrusive. As someone with gluten allergies, I felt genuinely cared for. The team listened closely and offered recommendations that never felt like a compromise on flavor or creativity. We began with a dirty chai latte, aromatic and comforting, though I personally would have enjoyed a touch more sweetness. The dirty French, customized gluten free, was rich, decadent and deeply satisfying. It felt indulgent in the best way and showcased the kitchen's ability to balance comfort with culinary intention. To go, we ordered the crunchy chicken nuggets, fries and lemon ricotta pancakes. The fries were outstanding, perfectly crisp and addictive. My husband loved the pancakes, light and flavorful with a bright citrus note. The gluten free nuggets were enjoyable, though they did not quite reach the level I expected compared to the rest of the menu. Overall, Sacred Beast offers a dining experience where hospitality and thoughtful cooking meet effortlessly. It is a place that respects dietary needs without sacrificing taste or creativity, and one I would gladly return to.

The steak and eggs and omelette were satisfying and well executed, but the true standout was the pork hash. Our server, McKenna, took great care of us the whole evening. She was friendly, engaging, accommodating, and just did an overall great job. Pro tip, go during happy hour for great prices on appetizers and drinks. The appetizer pricing was so good we were able to order more than planned. We got the duck fat fries, brussels sprouts, and buffalo chicken. The duck fat fries came with a delicious garlic aïoli. The brussels sprouts were just perfect. And the buffalo chicken with some of the best I've had in a long time. I had never had cock-a-leekie before, so I tried that too. It was a nice, warm, comfort food. For our entrées, several of us got fish and shrimp. It was delicious and the tartar sauce and cocktail sauce sauces were perfect. The highlighter of the evening for me was my mocktail. I noticed the drink menu had a cucumber elderberry drink, but I do not drink alcohol, so I ask if they would be willing to make something like it as a mocktail. It was genuinely one of the best mock tails I've ever had. It was so good. I asked if the bartender would mind sharing what she did so I could make some version of it at home. She happily obliged and wrote it down for me. Overall, a wonderful experience that will definitely have me recommending Nicholsons to friends and family!

If you prefer a quieter setting, then eating in the bar is your best bet because the dining rooms do get loud. We started with the east/west coast oysters and they were so fresh. The passion fruit mignonette was the perfect compliment. I kept scooping out tiny spoonfuls and drinking it after we finished the oysters. The Fluke Crudo was fantastic. The combo of flavors and textures was a delight for the palate. The scallops over the miso leek risotto was one of the best scallop dishes we have ever eaten. The scallops were huge and cooked perfectly and there were plenty of pieces of leek in a lovely, smooth risotto. We're not a fan of hijiki, so the chef prepared the risotto without it - Thanks Chef Jose! And you would think chicken schnitzel would be basic, but not this dish. The chicken was so moist, perfectly seasoned, and pan fried in butter. We asked for the sauce on the side because we knew we wouldn't finish the big piece and wanted to heat it up later and still be crispy (which we did). We were amazed that eating the chicken, almond, asparagus, and some sauce in one bite, was SO good. The best two meals we have had in Cincinnati so far in 2026 have been here, and Mita's. The cons- It was so incredibly loud in the room we were in. We couldn't even hold a conversation and we could barely hear the wait staff. The couple next to us asked to be moved outside.
