Went here today with a group of six , was told the wait was ten min for a lane .. 40 min later they said sorry we made a mistake , 20 more min , another 20 go buy and I ask to speak to a manager , we didn't want to wait for an hour and a half bc we had other plans , rude service , the girl in the front was nasty and I plan on calling corporate, after I told her she was rude and nasty she said go ahead I don't care call . I came here on a rainy Friday night with my siblings for some fun. The place was really hard to find and GPS does not help at all! We had to call to find this place. When you walk in it does look promising of a good time. We checked out the prices for bowling $40 per person per hour $20 for every half hour after that and $5 for shoes? ARE YOU INSANE? When the average bowling alley is $15-20 for 3/4 games without a time limit! GOODBYE HUMDINGERS! The arcade was a little small but a nice selection. The batting cages seemed good but I did not check those prices. The food is over priced by about $4. The person taking our order had no idea what their veggie burger was made out of, they got my order wrong and because of that they over charged me for my meal without trying to make it up with an upgrade on my drink size or a cookie or anything. Bad customer service! The flatbread pizza and chicken burger were not worth the price you pay. Because of the rain somehow the bathrooms were flooded and shut down. Now I'm pregnant and in need of many bathroom breaks. So when I asked an employee if I can use the their employee bathroom since the public one was shut down and I'm preggo she was nice enough to rush and find someone to ask... only for that person to tell me to get in my car and drive down the road to Starbucks or to The Container Store in the pouring rain. Came to have lunch and a day of activities with my job and some individuals like we usually do... until staff let me know after we've been here, that my guys couldn't bring their own food. Usually this wouldn't be an incident or problem if the correct signs were posted where they needed to be. Also after the fact this is the fifth time my guys were trying to come back. We came to Humdingers earlier in September for an impromptu celebration for my son's 9th birthday. We had a large party of about 15 kids and 10 plus adults. We ordered tons of food, bought 15 arcade cards, and then bowled and hit the batting cages. During the party, a friend of ours brought a cake for my son. I brought it back to the serving counter/kitchen area and they held it in the freezer for us. When it came time to blow out the candles, they refused to let us and said they don't allow outside food there and if we blew out the candles, we couldn't eat the the cake there. I was shocked. The place was not busy all day and was pretty empty at the time. In fact, earlier in the night, we actually asked the girls working at the Carvel there whether they had cakes but they didn't. We genuinely weren't trying to get over on anyone, we just wanted our son to blow out some candles in front of his friends. It almost felt like they waited all that time, let us stay and spend a ton more money, and then let us know that eh couldn't blow out the candles. I get that it was "policy" but I thought it was a pretty crappy way to treat repeat customers that spent tons of money there with a big group. What's even more disappointing is that we'd been there before and looked forward to coming back each time, but will definitely not be returning again. Like I said, the place was pretty empty and with customer service like that, I guess I know why. I spoke with the staff and manager and they were pretty rude. Overall a disappointing experience. Humdingers is a great place to take kids if you're willing to waste at least $100 on a small assortment of video games. If you don't mind waiting 2-3 hours to bowl, the lanes are pretty cool and the food and drink is served right at your lane. It's a good local spot to keep kids entertained for a few hours, but be prepared for screaming kids and unfriendly staff. Shay at the front desk was probably the most unpleasant person I've encountered in a long time. A simple request for assistance with a game card was met with a nasty attitude and the sense that helping us out was too much trouble. We waited by the front desk for a lane to open up and we were subjected to her complaining to her coworkers about anything and everything- all while wearing an angry grimace. I would have had a better time if the staff were more enthusiastic, or even willing to crack a smile. read more

The place itself was very nice, ideal for a 6yo birthday party. The only problem I had was with a staff member, Devon. He made my 5yo cry, for no good reason. He took a turn out of sequence, because he misunderstood why the other kids were calling him up. Devon spoke to him harshly, went out of his way to make him feel bad about it (even though he could erase the turn, as if it never happened). Really ridiculous. Let me start with absolutely poor and absurd customer service in attempting to get info for a child's birthday. Mind you this child will be turning 5. The prices given back were beyond ridiculous, unless I was also getting a year worth of gaming or more. My initial response was appreciatory and stated that I believed Humdingers was out of my league - we had never spent more than $600 for a kids party w approx 28 children. Their price was more than $40 a head!!! She was so insistent that she could work w me and offered not exactly half off, but no food or party assistance. I explained that unfortunately there were other places w games and bowling closer to me that included food and a party planner. She assured in a third email that they were competitive. Clearly not the case. So now my child goes to a friends birthday party at their facility. A place filled w employees so rude, unorganized, incompetent and unaware of the law. I was at work when I received a text (fr my spouse)saying that they'd lost our sons shoes. The shoes were placed in a large bin/basket for all the children's shoes from said party. But when all others got their shoes back, mine did not. My spouse was basically told that they were not responsible for lost belongings. Well I the angry mom, called. My spouse is the nicest dude on the planet, so for him to get mad is a big deal. I'm the meany! I was handed (via phone) to one of the nastiest service managers I've dealt w in a while. She first explained how they take all shoes in a basket, as my spouse told me they did, and place up and behind an employee counter. So that already clues me in that they are indeed responsible for my sons shoes. She was not kind or understanding. She was rude. Then to top off as part of my friends package for their party all kids get a game card handed to each, but not to my son. In the end this is a place that charges way too much for a place that isn't all that great, is rude to customers and doesn't deliver the promise for party. I don't know what the hell the previous review was talking about. I was able to crack open my beer while bowling no problem. There are just a few zones where you can't drink, but it was basically a non-issue. This place is clean, classy, the food is pretty good and the family loved it. We'll be coming back. For the holidays I bought everyone in our family experiences to make memories, bowling,indoor sky diving, rock climbing etc. After careful research I chose Humdingers as our bowling experience. We called to make reservations and you can't get a live person to speak to. We drive to its Paramus location to our our name down for a two hour wait. I will add it's 6:00 pm. Two hours later they tell us we can't leave the building or we don't get texted we were never told. We again put our name down to only hear we have a one hour wait. We go ahead and stay on premises and play the arcade games. We notice there are empty lanes so we asked when we would be playing he looks at the computer and tells me I have 30 minutes to go. There are three lanes empty now. So I patiently go sit down and wait the 30 minutes. 5 minutes left of my reservation I again look inside the bowling alley and now there the are five lanes open he then again tells me I have two minutes to my reservation time. So I tell the clerk I would like to pay now so when my reservation comes up we can just bowl. I hand him my Groupon two game vouchers and he tells me he can't accept them. So I tell him not only was I not able to make a reservation but I've waited three hours to play and now he wants to tell me we can't use them when at 6:00 pm I told them I had them. My intentions for these gifts of experiences as a family together was to have fun and the employees at Humdingers ruined it for us. Eventually they took the vouchers but we didn't get our two game they only gave us one game and cut us off in the middle of the second game. A horrible experience never again. I came on a Saturday with a group of 12 people to celebrate my birthday, and it was such a blast! The BYOB part of this place is perfect, and the "bartenders" were so nice and accommodating. The worst part of the place is you can't take your alcohol everywhere with you, but I assume that's because they are attempting to keep it family friendly, as well. For a place that doesn't sell alcohol, the bar area was beautiful. We had a wonderful time in the batting cages and we also bowled for an hour. read more

Both times I was there, Harrison was our server, one time for a party and the second time for a family night out, and he was beyond great! I'm giving this rating only because of the rude employees! It's unfortunate that we had a nice time last night and now this! Heres my problem I realized this morning I lost my wallet and after contacting the place today NEVER did I expect to speak with such rude employees! We called 3 times once to ask if anyone turned in a wallet and to please look around, second call to look in the parking lot right by the front entrance where we were parked and the last call to please look in one more spot. Her words EXTREMELY OBNOXIOUS & RUDE "it's not here we clean this place every night if it were here it would have been behind the counter". I than asked her again just to look in this spot it's 10 feet away from u and It's my wallet my life! This little brat actually put the phone down and cursed to another employee "go look for her f-en wallet again"! When I questioned her and asked to speak to a manager after her rude comment her only words were "goodbye"...yes that's right goodbye and hung up on me!! I called back demanding to speak to a manager who than I finally someone else got on the phone claiming to be a manager and all I wanted her to do is look in one more spot and this lady Leah is telling me not to raise my voice to her and she didn't believe that this other girl cursed! Unreal! Oh and are you ready for this she asked me where I think the wallet is and I told her and she said ok I will look in the safe and the other spot. Would u believe the first little shit I spoke to never thought to look in the damn safe?!!!! Regardless they found my wallet exactly where I said it was! To the owner you should be ashamed of your employees! We we're 14 people last night with a total of $475 spent. Was planning on having my sons 7th birthday there at $39.99 Pp with over 20 attendees and you can kiss that goodbye! This will be the last time we will ever step foot in you establishment!
