We were in the mood for lobster rolls so tried Hull's Kitchen's outside patio overlooking the beach. Big mistake! Menu Read: Lobster Roll, on toasted roll, served with coleslaw Since lobster rolls come in many different varieties, hot, cold, mayo, drawn butter etc. I asked the waitress how they were prepared, she informed 'made to order, mayo & celery.' Perfect! Just the way we like it, we ordered two, a side of fries, a beer & soda water. A few minutes later our food was delivered, on my first bite I noticed a ton of chopped onions in it. The waitress was busy & I was patient. When she came back I explained I was allergic to onions. She picked up the plate & started walking away while I was still talking. I asked if I could order something else. Her response was "Don't you just want me to have them make you another one without onions?" ‍ Sure. This place is super cute and allergy friendly! We ordered the portabella fries and brussels sprouts to start, and both are delectable. The brussels sprouts have the perfect amount of flavor and taste the best when they are slightly burnt around the edges. Portabella fries are a great choice as well paired with the aioli sauce. I also got two shrimp tacos and they were tasty. I would recommend any of the tacos if you're not super hungry. If I'm ever in the area again, I would come back! read more

Hull's Kitchen is a seasonal restaurant on Nantasket Beach in what used to be a single family cottage, complete with wrap around porch. It's wedged between a big resort hotel parking lot and three crappy bar/fried food/view/get-your-sloppy-drunk-on joints. There's plenty of parking (on the strip and behind on the other strip), a great view, and a decent loo. If I were Yelping on a curve, this would be a five. But I'm not. Hull's Kitchen is a solid three. It's good enough that I've been a few times and would come back but not great. It can be fun if you get a decent table when there's live music. The food is good, sometimes better than others. This past visit, the pepper roasted sweet potatoes were excellent. But because it always feels like camping out, the prices seem a little high. All the eating is done outside on the porch at wooden tables. Everything is paper or plastic: the utensils, the plates, the cups. Even the salt and pepper come in little to-go packets. I guess this is the business model -- fast and easy (but not cheap). I don't mind this so much when I'm eating a taco, but when I'm spending $22 for a seafood salad, I want a real plate and a real fork. And it always bugs me with a cocktail. This most recent visit, I got the pomegranate margarita, which was deliciously sour, almost perfect, but it came in a flimsy little (very little) cup, like kindergarten. This isn't a wild place. This isn't a place people come to get drunk. It's for old farts, with some guy warbling classic rock on the back deck. No one is going to go crazy, including me. Give me a real glass. This is the kind of place Gordon Ramsay would love to close down in "Kitchen Nightmares." It's a mess. Hyper-high prices, fried fish (only) and absolutely, spit-it-out-of-your-mouth tasteless. Whatever reputation allowed this place to thrive on 4 days a week during the tourist season, it's not long for this world. Specifics: The famous tacos. We had steak, chicken, and two fish. Four (4) tacos and two (2) beers = $27. When they came out you could have mistaken them for appetizers...but you NEVER would have mistaken them for fresh. They were slapped down in small paper cups/trays with no attention to the basics of cooking edible food. The fish was a FISH STICK. Deep fried and flavorless. The chicken was tiny pre-cut frozen pieces from a bag that is also used in many low-end places to scatter over salads. The arrogance of this place is standard for a beachfront establishment. The food is short-order (with long waits), they are open only a few days a week, and a few months of the year, and they make up for it by price gouging. Disgusting. (The owner laughed uncomfortably when I voiced my concerns, and he dismissed my wife and I--and the group of women sitting nearby when they left as well. So here we go publicly). read more

Jane and her family are great! Friendly, courteous, welcoming and they take great care to never cross contaminate my food (shellfish and gluten allergies...real ones). The salsa is so fresh! 3 ingredients, love it. I don't eat the fried fish although I've brought many friends who have and have loved it. HK changes their oil daily and from my friend's experiences it is obvious (the fried food there also looks cleaner than at other places). The good is always fresh, the view is great, sunsets can't be beat. Live music is lovely, scenery full of vibrancy and people having beach fun. Love this place! read more

The lobster roll was very good although a bit pricy at $17. It wasn't loaded with dressing or mayonnaise like other places. I think I was famished so I really really enjoyed it. I don't like celery but didn't notice an overabundance of it like a previous reviewer. My friends had a mozzarella salad which was good except for the dressing and also chicken strips which were OK. Be careful if you order Beck's because it's non alcoholic. The view of the ocean is nice but the Harleys are annoying. Service was friendly. read more

It is conveniently located next to one of my favorite beach spots in the state - and it has a cute little deck - you can choose to eat there or take your food back to the beach. Went to hull from Boston for the first time and was unfamiliar with the area. We went to the beach in front of hk and were excited to pop in here before we headed out. Hulls kitchen was the best part of our day trip. Perfectly shaded porch with views of the ocean. We weren't next to the live music but could hear it in the front. The best part was the people. The owners and wait staff were incredibly nice and helpful for 2 out of towners. Awesome place to grab a drink. Great vibes and people all around. Will be back ! read more

This place deserves 5 Stars. My sister and I both had fish. My salmon was cooked perfecly and put on top of a salad. My sister had the Fish and Chips which were simply delicious. Food is mediocre at best. I do not like any oceanfront restaurant that serves their fish FRIED only and has no grilled fish. Makes me thnk it must come frozen because if it was fresh, you would offer it grilled. The place is in a nice location but they sort of think they are cooler than they are - and the prices reflect it. I do disagree with the last review from Sergei B - the Harleys are NOT annoying, but Euro-snobs ARE. Maybe your 49cc scooter is too cool for Hull. read more

I love this place! Loads of brussels​ sprout options (I am a fan!) The tacos, sandwiches, beer selection are all great. The prices are good too. The service is very good. The best thing, however, is the view! You look right out onto Nantasket beach. The only things I would like to change is to include fries with the sandwiches and to stay open in the off-season​. read more

I went here because of the review that said "best food on the beach". It was pretty busy so we got take out. I feel a little let down for the price. I got the grilled scallops and shrimp, the salad was missing and there was no lemon. The shrimp was good but the scallops were slightly underdone. This is a non-review of HK too. I say non-review, because it's never open for me to check it out! Each time I have tried to go, it has been closed. Beautiful beach days, and the former barefoot Bob's spot , that I frequented regularly for years, has very short infrequent hours. This is the third summer I have tried and I give up. Not everyone is available only on the weekends. Some of us have our days off during the week. I'll never try again. I'll make sure I tell people not to bother. I've heard the food is not that great anyway. I just loved the location! I wish it had re-opened it barefoot bob's style, yet cleaned up their act! Not sure how they stay in business barely open anyway! So I'll keep my fingers crossed... read more

**this is a review for hulls kitchen TOO** The only reason why im putting 1 star is because our waitress was awesome. When we got there, we got sat right away. Then immediately an older woman carrying a tray of food goes to the table next to us and asks if this is their food, they say no, and she then comes over to us. "no sorry we just got here". she finds the table. the woman then does this two more times with two more trays of food. We order and get our food. My boyfriend orders the scallops "plate" for $20. he then gets a small paper boat, usually what a side of fries or something comes in, theres 4 scallops and a small amount of fries. For $20 come on. Definitely not a plate and absolutely not worth it. My fish tacos were very good though. When were done the waitress then tells us the register is down and to write all my credit card info on a piece of paper and shell put in my order later when the registers are up. I totally dont blame her it wasnt her fault but it was pretty sketchy writing my credit card info down and sending it off into an abyss and pray my info doesnt get stolen. I did get charged the correct amount but i just hope that piece of paper gets ripped up and thrown out. Hopefully they change prices of their food or portion size to fit the price. After eating here recently I was surprised to see the mostly positive reviews. First of all 2 fish tacos for 9 dollars I was expecting more burrito like tacos, instead they were very small with fish that had clearly been frozen. It also took close to an hour and a half to get our food when there was only one other table getting food. It was perplexing. You can see the kitchen from the tables and the people in the kitchen were clearly working but there was no one else eating! Maybe they were making themselves and their family takeout food? How long does it take to re heat frozen fish and throw it in a tortilla? Food is ridiculously over priced for the quality. -PROS -great view -waitress seemed nice enough -french fries were decent (although not good enough to wait an hour and a half for when the place was empty) CONS -insanely over priced. I still cant believe the quality/size of the fish tacos for 9 bucks. Believe me when i tell you that taco bells tacos are twice as big and actually better quality than these. Also 1/9th of the price! -Very slow service. It was more fascinating than angering. I wanted to ask what the kitchen staff were doing bc they were clearly cooking something for the whole hour and a half but only 2 other people were eating. For the time it took you would think they went out and caught the fish in the ocean, came back and cleaned it, and then served it. Been in the Hull area frequently but never tried Hull Kitchen until tonight. Spectacular view of the ocean and sights. If I only stopped here would have been great night. Ordered food and drinks. OK if only having a beer, forget the mixed drinks better off ordering soda since mix drink was basically that at a $9 a glass price tag. Wow! Entree was good, tacos but better as appetizer as portions very small for price. "Tourist Trap" comes to mind. I should know better living local. 1st time and last unless want to only drink beer and look at scenery. read more

We love Hulls Kitchen and go here every weekend in the summer. Easily , the best tacos on the South Shore. Pulled pork sandwich is amazing and all the sides are delicious. It is all cooked to order by the chef-husband while the wife-front of house is caring and enthusiastic. We love both the food and the owners. Just wish they were open year round. read more

So happy to have finally popped into Hull's Kitchen. Not sure what I was waiting for. I spent the weekend in Hull and ate at three other restaurants ranging from gross, to so-so. Hull's Kitchen was so great! I order a lobster taco that was outstanding! So fresh and beautifully seasoned. I also ordered some clam chowder which is some of the best I've ever eaten. Did I detect a hint of lemon? Really yummy. My companions each ordered a turkey sandwich with bacon, which they loved. Service is great and you can't ask for a better view. Also, there is a full bar and great beer options. Can't wait to go back. read more
