This place is a complete shitshow. The kitchen is wildly inconsistent--not just with the quality of the food, but even with whether it's actually open. If you seat yourself, don't expect anyone to acknowledge your existence. Of course, that assumes you can even find a hostess in the first place. You've got a better chance of finding Waldo riding a unicorn than spotting someone at the host stand. It's a shame because the location and view are absolutely beautiful, but the management seems determined to waste all that potential. Do yourself a favor and walk next door to the Parrot. You'll get the same waterfront view, food you can actually count on, wonderful service that makes you come back for more, and an experience that reminds you what a well-run restaurant looks like. read more

While on a trip with college friends (all 24 and up) we stumbled upon the tipsy tuna. we were looking for a bar that had music and a younger crowd. We walked up to the bouncer we were asked for our age and ID. 2 of us are Mass residents 2 of us are NY residents. The 2 NY residents were then asked for a passport to prove the legitimacy of their IDs and then were turned away when they didn't have them on hand. The bouncer went on to say that this was their policy for all out of state residents and without it we would not be allowed in. why would someone bring a passport on a vacation one state away? how is this a "policy" in a beach/tourist town. upon looking into this further it is not a policy that is advertised and probably is one that making the bar lose quite a bit of business (if it is actually one that they follow through for all out of state patrons). If fake IDs are such a concern a scanner should be purchased for the establishment. That would have quickly proven the legitimacy of both NY IDs. We will be visiting Hull again as it is a great little beach town with many other great businesses but will never recommend or visit the tipsy tuna again. VERY DISSAPOINTING! read more

Had to make one last stop to try a lobster roll from another location. Tipsy Tuna is located at a relaxing location right across from the beach and received great service. Got a ufo blueberry beer that was delicious. We tried the Connecticut and Maine Lobster rolls and both were great in their own way. The Connecticut Lobster roll could had had a bit more butter as that is my preference. The Maine Roll had Mayo and was flavorful. The Onion Rings as a side was a great feature. read more

Consistency is key and this place has it! My 2nd visit here was just as fabulous as my first. I got the fish & chips and my husband got the scallop plate. My fish & chips were just as great, if not better than the first time. Both meals were a generous portion size and nicely fried. The coleslaw had a funky taste but a good consistency/crunch. I ate the whole thing while trying to decide if I liked the flavor! Our friend got the Maine lobster roll and it looked perfect!! The roll was overstuffed with lots of meat and a touch of mayo - I will definitely be getting this next time! I'm already looking forward to coming back! read more

Chill beachside with a gaggle of umbrella'd high tops on an expansive concrete patio and a limited indoor seating if for some reason you'd eat here when it was raining(?). Fresh sliced onion rings are bomb dot org, because they give and the volume has to break even on cost. Lobby itself is hearty, well shucked (no cartilage) and decently buttered. I still have a hard time reconciling how ocean roaches that were fed to peasants in Elizabethan times can fetch a $40 price tag, but that's the market so I digress. Frozen boozy bevs in Slurpee tumblers and a few TVs posted around the grounds in case your friends get boring. Solid food menu, though, especially when they could put out crap and tourists would still arrive in droves. read more

The kids hot dogs were meh, my daughter ate half and my son ended up ordering a cheeseburger instead. The margaritas were loaded with sugar. Great location next to one of the better beaches around. We drove to Hull twice from Norwood. We ordered: Mussels- these were tied on the overdone side. But when you get it in, but it was OK. Fried pickles - can't go wrong with fried pickles, and these aren't too dilly Maine lobster roll (called with mayo)- not too shabby, good amount of lobster. Connecticut lobster roll (warm with butter)- I wish I had gotten this one, but my husband ordered this one. Much better than the Maine lobster roll. Fried Oreos - I mean, how can you go wrong? Kids, fish and chips- the fish was a huge portion. Very moist and flaky. Kids chicken strips - nothing to write home about. Piña colada - some of the better piña colada's I've ever had. Lowkey homophobic! I had a bad experience tonight as I watched people walk in to the bar and call a group of men the f slur. The group involved then talked to the bouncer and explained the situation and he said "it's all good" and did nothing about the situation. I personally believe that this hate speech should have been dealt with and the people involved should have been asked to leave. We've been visiting Tipsy Tuna every summer since they opened in 2021, and every year the food gets better, the atmosphere is as good as we remember it and the staff always take care of us. I am honestly shocked at the service I received i am 22 years old and was visiting to celebrate a friends graduation from college, with 2 different forms of id. I am from out of state but if it is an issue you should be able to get a black box to check because it is uncomfortable to be left out of a party for absolutely no reason along with friends also not being allowed in to the establishment. The bouncers at the door were understanding, however it was shown that management does not care to receive business. Management would not look at my 2 forms of ID and decided before I arrived at the establishment that I would not be allowed in. Poor way to run a business. read more

We ordered a hamburger with onion rings, fish and chips, an appetizer, and a bottle of wine today. First the positive: the fish was flaky and terrific. It came with cole slaw that was delicious. The onion rings with the hamburger were tremendous. Unfortunately, the burger was nearly inedible. The patty was gray and horrible. The tomato they served on the burger was green and super crunchy. The fries with the fish were cold and soggy. The waitress asked how the food was and we told her it was substandard. She shrugged it off. There are really good places to eat in Hull. I'm disappointed that we picked the Tipsy Tuna today. We won't make that mistake again! read more

Loved this place! Service was super friendly, we didn't feel rushed by the server so we were able to have a nice leisurely lunch with the family. Patio is dog friendly, they even brought our pup a water bowl. Food was excellent! Four of us had the fish and chips which was probably the best we've had! Thick cut and crispy batter. If you are from out of state and are looking to get drinks, don't come here. We are from Michigan and they wouldn't even look at our licenses due to some issues with fake IDs. Do not go to the Tipsy Tuna if you want to use a credit card. I went there on the evening of Sunday, August 15, 2021 with two friends. Our experience at this restaurant was terrible. First, I ordered steamed clams which they neglected to tell me were out and not until the other two meals arrived. Then they brought mussels which were someone else's order. After we were finally done, I asked to pay $60.00 with a credit card but was not presented with a proper credit card receipt for signature. I ended up having to go inside and spoke to several men at a register by the bar about the matter. I said if they could void the credit card sale I would pay cash. They refused to void the credit card sale and became unpleasant. I never signed for the charge as I was never given a proper credit card receipt. Due to the terrible experience I had there I finally just asked for my meal to be comped to me. The manager then agreed that I would not be charged. After that the server told us that his employer had stated that he would have to pay the bill from his pocket. Feeling bad for the server I gave him $22.00 in cash. Despite my not signing for it and after being told I would NOT be charged, the restaurant was able to charge my credit card for the $60.00. So now I'm out $82.00 when I should have been charged nothing, per the management's agreement. Stay away from this place! read more
