We stopped in for lunch during a boat trip, and docked in their boat slip. The place is beautiful, tastefully designed, and has spectacular views of the outer harbor and islands. Service was very friendly and accommodating. The food was also very good, fish tacos were excellent, as were the fried haddock dinner and the clam bellies. Four stars because of the value. Good higher end beach bar food with outdoor deck seating featuring amazing views. Locals is a solid lunch option for families and groups as well as boaters coming in from the dock. We got the haddock sandwich and the Struzz 5K grilled chicken and both were excellent. The haddock was flaky and perfectly fried while the Struzz was loaded with bacon and cheese. You also get a big heap of fries to make sure you don't leave hungry. Our little one got the chicken tenders which were underwhelming and lacking in flavor so maybe try a different option on the kids menu. The frozen alcoholic drinks are there for those wanting to have a really good time. While the ambience was laid back for lunch and featured several families, I have the feeling the vibe shifts in the evening as the servers were decked out in party neon. My fiancé went to have lunch here on Sunday and due to my disability, I use a handicap plaque when I park as I have trouble walking long distances. We parked in the handicap spot right next to the door and as soon as we got out, a woman in her car pulled over and asked if we were planning on having lunch. When we told her yes she told us that we were parked in a handicap spot and "didn't want others to complain." At this point she hasn't even looked in my car to see that we'd put up the plaque on my mirror, just had assumed because I looked young and healthy that I was faking it. When I tried to explain that I have a handicap plaque and that I have a disability, she started to question me because I didn't have "a sticker on my plate" (which is not required if you have a plaque). I also tried to explain to her that not all disabilities are visible and she should not be pulling over to question people, she introduced herself as the manager and said she didn't want people complaining. Why would people complain about me parking there if I have a state issued handicap plaque? She was also just off the clock so she was not working, she was leaving when she pulled us over in her car. I asked the hostess and found out her name is Michelle and she is indeed a manger there. Not only is this embarrassing and humiliating to be questioned about my disability status but also a form of ableism, will be reaching out to the owner or general manager. read more

Here's why: - location - gorgeous water view. can get noisy at marina though. there was a loud fuel truck right below us the entire time. - loved the harvest salad - chicken could have used more seasoning though. The fries were too greasy. - they accommodated an 8 people party fairly quickly with two separate tables, however. Couldn't put them together. - the waitress was friendly - small parking lot but was able to find a spot on a Saturday mid afternoon - the umbrellas don't really provide much shade. What a lovely spot! Beautiful restaurant overlooking the water. I just so happened to come here right when the sun was setting and the views were stunning! My friend and I sat at the bar and ordered the mussels to start. Confession: I've never had mussels before!! And I loved them! They reminded me of clams and were in a delicious light tomato broth. I can't believe I've never had them before and I would definitely order them again! For my entree, I got the fish & chips. It was a large, nicely fried filet served with a delicious coleslaw - and I ate the whole thing! My dirty martini was also on point. I already can't wait to come back here! read more

Had one of the best dinning experiences here today than I've had in a very long time! Stopped here with my wife on a whim while in the area. Had not been here since the location was under the current name. (Few yrs) Very nice when we walked in, greeted by a very nice hostess who was able to sit us right away (arrived mid afternoon hoping to slide in between seating waves on Mother's Day) Attended to by a very nice server named Madison who had a great smile, made us feel very welcome while she tended to us during our visit. Later learned this was her first day serving after spending several years doing other jobs at the location.... She picked up how to do the job right... well done. When she first got to the table I asked if she could get me some bread quickly as I was having a sudden bad case of jitters from some meds I took on an empty stomach. She explained that they do not have bread service, I quickly asked if she could bring me some clam chowder right away since I knew I was going to have that. She had a bowl of clam chowder to me in less than 2 mins then proceeded to get us our waters. I was very grateful and really appreciate the quick response to my urgent need. Well done (and again, 1st day!) the clam chowder was very very good. Flavorful, had clams and a good consistency. I would list it in the top echelon of clam chowders I've enjoyed. We ordered from a Mother's Day menu which offered some great looking options. Had not planned on an upper scale dinning experience while we were out and did not know what this locale was going to offer (actually was in the mood for a hamburger) but just went with the flow of the menu and decided to enjoy what we had stumbled upon. I don't recall the various options on the menu (wasn't thinking about writing a review) just know that my mind was drawn to the Prime Rib when I saw it. My only question was did I want to spend $36 on a Prime Rib at this particular restaurant? I'm typically very disappointed when I spend that kind of money on steak in a non-steakhouse location. Enjoyed a couple of rum runner drinks and the rest of my clam chowder while the main course was prepared. Drink was very good and a good value compared to others this day and age. The main course came out with perfect timing, not too quickly and not too long. First impression.... Instantly, I was YES I made the right choice. My Prime Rib was absolutely delicious looking! It was thick and a very good size and the perfect color pink/red for what I asked for, medium rare. The seasoning on the outside edge was delicious and had that perfect bit of texture to it. The entire piece was juicy, tender and flavorful. Just absolutely perfect, I could never ask for a better piece of Prime Rib in any establishment let alone a non-steakhouse. Absolutely one of the best pieces of steak of any kind I have ever had. Truly delicious! While I will state that my Prime Rib was well above expectations, please keep in mind my expectations were low due to other experiences in other restaurants. What I will say is that I received an absolutely delicious piece of steak of size, taste and tenderness I would expect for $36 in a venue such as this. This is something that is typically not received in today's world. Major kudos to the ownership for delivering really good food in expected portions (ie not downsized portions) at a reasonable price point and providing a great overall dinning experience! TO ALL RESTAURANT OWNERS: I have cut back on my dinning out experiences because I am fed up with shrinking portions, lack of quality, lack of good service. And while an argument can be made about the availability of good help, an argument can also be made in the lack of investment in proper training. This establishment has earned my support and my respect and for that, they will be one of the few places I now choose to go to when I want to go out. I was so impressed by my meal I am writing this review, something I don't do, not big into writing out reviews, not my thing. I like to start as many posts as I can with the positive so let me say, the service was on point! Our server was super nice quick with our drinks and food but let us also enjoy the amazing view that was in front of us. If you want ambiance this is the place to be! The food was honestly mediocre. I had the Mac and cheese and added lobster my husband got the captains broil and it was all good but it wasn't wow. It was something I could see us very easily making these dishes at home. Last night we went to Hull for Illumination night. While there we went to Local 02045 for dinner. My wife had made reservations and we were seated on the deck with a spectacular view of the bay. As the sun went down my wife ordered steak tips and I ordered the lobster roll. Soon after our drinks arrived our meal was delivered to our table. The steak tips we seasoned to perfection while being cooked exactly how she ordered them. For my lobster roll...well let's start with when they say jumbo lobster roll they mean it. I am usually a critic of a bed of lettuce in the roll but when you get over 3/4 of a pound of lobster it is defiantly needed. There is no skimping on the lobster. A really good mixed of tail, claw and knuckle meat to give you an endless variety of taste for each forkful. There is little to no celery insight so you are greeted with the main event with each bite. The roll itself is toasted to perfection but does not distract from the lobster. The plate is accompanied by French fries that have that perfect crunch when you bite into them. Be ready for when you order this bad boy the folks around you are going want to know what you ordered so they can join in the fun as well. Now I have tried lobster rolls in many parts of the east coast from Maine to Florida and this is in the top 3 on the eastern seaboard. Don't waste you time going to a tourist trap like Nancy's on the Vineyard, come to local and get the real deal. Now beside this our server was outstanding by stopping by our table several times to make sure we were well taken care of and the manager Lisa asked every table how their night and dining experience was on such a wonderful night. Top this off with 2 outstanding banana mudslides for dessert while watching the lighting of the flares around the bay and this night was a 10 out of 10. There is good news and bad news... The good news first: this place is in a beautiful location overlooking the water. There is indoor seating and outdoor seating. We ordered Mojito's while we were waiting to be seated and they were very good. Hats off to the woman who made our Mojitos. The bad news: 1-inside the restaurant is so noisy our ears were ringing. 2-their website says you can "join the waitlist" but when I clicked that link, it said unavailable. When I tryed it again it said "5 to 15 minute wait" but when I arrived and asked the hostess, she said it is a 45-60 minute wait. Sorry, she said, the website is in accurate. There's nothing we can do about it. 3-we got on the waiting list expecting to wait 45 to 60 minutes. You cannot request indoors or outdoors. We were told whatever comes open is what you will get. You get what you get! 4-We waited for an hour and 10 minutes to get our table. While waiting, we saw many empty tables outside and asked to please be seated outside. We were told no (!) we could not move outside because we had already been seated and there were other people on the waiting list behind us. We were told it wouldn't be fair to move us outside. As a customer we did not get this logic, OMG! We were ahead of everyone else on the list. Why couldn't they seat us outside? There were at least three hostesses and one manager. None of them were friendly or apologized..... basically we felt that they couldn't care less. 5-Once we were seated at a table, we ordered our food right away and it took 40 minutes to get the food after we were told it would take 20 minutes to get the food. Our waiter was very nice to us it wasn't his fault. 6-this restaurant seemed seriously understaffed. 7-about the food... My friend ordered the Mediterranean salad, which is supposed to come with quinoa among other things. There was a minuscule, minuscule amount of quinoa. Mostly it was just lettuce. There were a good number of olives and tomatoes. The salad dressing was barely average and there were only four tiny bites of pita in the salad which was disappointing. It was hard to tell if there was feta in the salad. Everything got I lost in the amount of lettuce. I ordered a dish with different types of seafood, which is called "the captain's..." something, I can't remember the name of it. I would say nothing tasted bad, but it was all mediocre. Because the wait was so long and it was so noisy we asked for our order to go and we sat outside on the park bench, that faced marina and the water. This was the best part of the evening! It took from 5:40 PM to 7:40 PM to get our food. Yikes! read more

Amazing view and very good food. The menu has something for everyone. We visit Hull every year and it always a place to stop.

This used to be my all round favorite restaurant but something about this season is VERY off. I've visited about 5 times in spring/summer 2024, and each time I've been slightly disappointed by at least one thing. The food is not as good as before- sometimes cold, or just tasteless. One visit they were out of mussels and clams, the only things I wanted to come for. The service has not always been great, long wait times being the top issue, one visit I only ordered clam chowder and fries, they brought my fries and forgot the chowder? I keep coming back and hoping for better but no luck. The view is what keeps me coming back- by far the best spot on the coast to have a meal. I really hope they can get their acts together- make Local great again!!! read more

Local 02045 is our first dining experience in Hull, moving here quite recently. It was a BEAUTIFUL setting, outstanding vibe and GREAT food. The Struzz 5k is an absolutely delicious sandwich choice for non sea food lovers. The baked Haddock was delicious, buttery fish with flavorful sauce pairs great with the rice pilaf. We got the luxury of going on $1 Wing Wednesdays, and these are EASILY the best wings we've ever had. More of a chill/casual dinner experience with casual foods. 5/5 recommend this to all your friends and family! Love the 02045! read more

We have tried to go here once before but it was slammed. Went on Fathers Day and shockingly we were able to get in. Maybe due to the rain because it seems like the perfect place for a beautiful day. They have a deck with tables outside which overlooks a marina. We really just went in for a drink and to check it out. We decided to try their food and I ordered clam chowder which is similar to Legal Seafoods. It was thick, flavorful and delicious. We also ordered the mussels which said it comes with a wine, garlic sauce or something. It came in paste but GOOD paste. It was not a runny broth at all. I don't even know what it was but I was taking their charred bread slices that came with it and was running it over the already empty mussel shells. I told the bartender I would like this sauce over pasta too because it was so flavorful. The only problem with this establishment was WOW was it loud and it wasn't even a full restaurant so I can't even imagine what it's like when it's full. I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt that the doors were closed due to rain so maybe it's not as loud in there when it's a beautiful sunny day. We haven't seen many of those days so hopefully soon the sun will come out and we will go back and try some other dishes. I saw a lot of men (my husband included) drinking beer with blueberries in it. It takes a real man to order beer with blueberries floating around in it!!! Was there on a weekday night, later in the evening so it was not busy. My friend & I got seated at a table outside that was right by the door going in and out. Despite our waitress walking by us over and over, it took her quite awhile to acknowledge us. She got very busy with the table next to us, even though we were seated before the 4 of them. Since it took her so long to come to us, we decided to skip drinks and go right to the food order. When she finally did come by, she was too busy looking at who was going in and out and asked us to repeat our order of just 2 dishes total. (My friend & I were sharing 1 appetizer and 1 dinner). We waited a very long time, couldn't seem to get her attention to ask where our food was. (Though she did serve the table of 4 next to us promptly). When our meal was dropped off by someone else, they gave us the appetizer and dinner all at once. So we ate some of the calamari, but the fish dinner got cold and dried out since it came out with the appetizer. So disappointing. At least they have a nice view, but that's probably the only thing that keeps this restaurant going that is only open in the summer. You want a view, take a walk on the pier next to it or down the street, don't waste your money on the expensive food and lack of service. read more

A friend and I visited Local 02045 for the first time on Thursday, 4/27/2023, at 6:15 PM. Come to find out, it was one of their first few nights that they reopened for the 2023 summer season. When we arrived, we were promptly greeted and asked if we would prefer a high-top or a standard table. The Host quickly escorted us to our table, and our Server came over and welcomed us to the restaurant and introduced herself (Janelle). The restaurant had a wide variety of signature cocktails, beer/wine, and a pleasant selection of appetizers/light bites, salads, sandwiches, and main entrees. Working in the restaurant industry previously, I was impressed to see such a variety of food that could meet the needs of an entire family. At one point, another Server (Jaclyn) stopped by to see if we needed anything and if we were enjoying our meal. Aesthetically, the location was very clean and bright, and the views and sunset were incredible! The best part, other than the company I was with, was being able to watch the sunset over the Boston skyline. At the end of the meal, my friend and I were leaving the restaurant and I quickly observed the Manager (Lisa) politely ask a female guest to speak with her in private. The Manager asked the guest if her husband was okay as he "seemed a bit off". I work in Human Resources and was very impressed with the Manager's vocabulary/word selection, tact, and professionalism in handling this difficult conversation. The female guest did start to escalate, but the Manager remained calm and spoke in a caring and non-accusatory tone. From my observation, the Manager seemed like she cared and wanted to make sure everyone was okay. Overall, my experience was very positive, I will absolutely frequent Local 02045. I even called today to make a reservation for a party of 12 for my niece's high school graduation celebration in June. read more
