Hula Hula is a very Popular Karaoke Tiki Bar. You have to wait by the door until the waitress comes check your ID and Vax card. You also have to wear your mask while singing and walking about. The VJ will remind you to wear your Mask while Singing since she did not disinfect the Mic in between Singers. If You don't like wearing masks, then you can't come inside here. But There's an outside patio where people can hang out. I like their Hawaiian theme. I used to go to their lower Queen Anne Location more often by myself and with friends. It was a more spacious venue with a larger dance floor and nice stage. There used to be ample parking. They had to close and move to their current location since a Brand new Apt went up there on Mercer. The new location is very difficult to find free street parking unless you go on a Sun. Night, take the bus or Light rail or Uber it. There are a bunch of bars and restaurants across the street and near by. On the Sun I went, the early Singers were pretty good. There was a variety of songs. I give the Singers 4 Stars. Sometimes you go to new Karaoke places and run into drunk singers or people who can't sing very well. The waitress quoted me that a juice would be $4 and she wanted a credit card up front. I told her, I'll prepay with cash. I gave her a $20. She ended up just giving me $15 back but Did not count it in front of me. So I did not have a chance question her being shorted $1 or ask if a non alcoholic juice is $5. That's a bit steep for a bar. For Westin Hotel, yes it's $5 for a soft drink. This place is good for small groups of 4-8 only. For large groups like 20 people, there won't be enough space to sit together. read more

Having never been to Seattle and not really knowing where to go, we stumbled upon Hula Hula and man, I'm glad we did. Hula Hula is a BLAST! It's a super vibey tiki bar with great drinks and great service. I haven't tried any of their food yet, but all of their food options sound super good. The instructions to sign up are right by the tablet that you sign up on, so it makes the process super simple. The wait for your performance sometimes can take kind of a long time, but it gives you some time to get loosened up, have a couple delicious drinks, and sing and dance to all the other performers. Such a fun bar...with karaoke! We came here on a Friday night and the place wasn't too busy, but busy enough to get in on all the singing fun! Though the bar area was packed, which is where the main stage is/best seats in the house, we found a booth on the other side of the bar, which had a TV of the main stage that we could watch all the singers on and sing to! The entire place is decked out in tiki flair, with booths covered in raffia straw, neon lights, lanterns, etc... The space isn't too large, but it's definitely worth visiting with a group of friends, especially for the shared cocktails like the Volcano Bowl, which is a huge cocktail, served in a bowl and lit on fire once its served. How festive! They also have other tropical drinks, a full bar and some Hawaiian food items. I mean, the best part of this place is how fun the karaoke is! If you have enough liquid courage in ya - you'll definitely feel comfortable enough to sing your little heart out because the crowd gets into the song, by singing and dancing with you, and sometimes even buying you a drink while you're singing. They were cooked perfectly crisp and the seasoning made the tots very flavorful. During HH, their cocktails are $4 off all tiki drinks, which make most drinks around $10. I came here for a birthday celebration and it was such a festive bar! She loves karaoke and this place is perfect for it. There's a little stage and the DJ is amazing at singing and super fair. The whole place has a good tiki vibe and the drinks also has this theme throughout. The bar food is better than others. It does take a while for them to come out and it could definitely be warmer when then come out which results in a four star. I ordered the wings and they had really good taste. The new Hula Hula is a little smaller than the old location but seems more functional for shows and karaoke. The fresh remodel looks cleaner but has the same tiki bar look. It's still a very relaxing place in the city. The menu drinks are a little too sweet for my liking. I want to taste at least some of my alcohol. If you like fruity and sweet drinks, you'll love it here. The tots are worth and order. Nothing I've found is stellar but enjoyable enough for the price. Another plus is the shows. I saw The Ukadelics here and saw opera at the old location, so they have some good shows. Staff have great themed uniforms. My waitress was super nice and very helpful. I went to Hula Hula recently because it is one of my fav bars but I was so disappointed. The food was not edible at all. I ordered the chicken sliders and the chicken was so overcooked I couldn't even chew the chicken. I didn't eat them. My friend ordered the beef sliders and they didn't have any flavor. At least they were somewhat edible. It took 40 min to get our food and when we did get it the food was cold as if it had been left outside for a while before the servers decided to bring it to our table. The service was awful. The waitresses never approached our table to ask us what food and drinks we wanted. We had to go to the bar and order it ourselves. They were only there to take away our plates when we were done with our food. It started getting packed and there were no seats available so people began to just stand around blocking my view of the singers. I did not enjoy myself and I am not coming back and giving my money to this place. Shit service and food. I don't recommend this place at all anymore. read more

The way the karaoke is set up on iPads is terrible as the iPads always crash. The stage makes you feel like nobody is really watching as everyone hangs out up-top. This was my first karaoke in nearly 2 years and I've returned several times since my first musical adventure here. Not only are the staff friendly but they work hard to make sure everyone is safe. Mandatory vaccine check and masks at the door are the right move. The food is tasty, fresh bar food with a fun luau twist, like grilled pineapple salsa with the chips. A must for Tiki bar aficionados when you are in the Seattle area. It is in a bit of an iffy area down from the Space Needle. Has a mixed clientele and has the feel of a great dive bar on the upswing. A large, dark bar area steps down into an even larger, darker table area where a muted big screen TV was showing a football game. The bar is known locally for the nightly 9pm karaoke which draws locals and tourists alike. The staff was warm and pleasant. The Tiki drink menu was limited, with about 11 or 12 choices, mostly the standards. I had a Mai Tai that was good, but not exceptional. The Blue Hawaiian was tasty, the Pina Colada was served on the rocks(?!?) and the Saturn with gin and passionfruit was probably the best drink we sampled. They have a happy hour from opening (4pm) to 6pm. $4 off all Tiki drinks...so unless you are big on karaoke, I suggest you visit early! read more

One of my favorite managers that I used to work way back in the hey day wanted to meet up at her favorite bar. My best friend and I took an Uber and made our way to the bar. We saw her outside and she was very excited to see us. Karaoke was about to start so we met the KJ and she had us create a profile on the tablet. The song list is vast it and it didn't take long to decide what would be my first choice. The tap list had a good variety of beer to choose from. As the evening went one, I was introduced one friendly person after another. The place was getting busy after the first set of singers was complete. What was different than other karaoke bars is that the tv screen would sometimes switch to playboy videos when there solo jams in the songs. It was a nice little devious treat to see. There is also a photo booth as well so we took advantage of that. The service is great and the drinks were flowing nicely throughout the evening. If I plan another trip to Seattle, I will make sure to stop by here for good times read more

First time here was for karaoke night with some buddies from work. Reasonably priced drinks that are well-mixed. Super friendly bartenders, too! The place draws influence from Hawaiian culture and is decorated to reflect just that (see photos). The karaoke night DJ was great! He really knew how to amp everybody up and encourage those who'd just sung. There's a photo booth that costs $5 for a single print of up to four photos. Extra prints will run you $5 extra per print. Some friends and I came back after a few months of going elsewhere for karaoke. It was nice to be back and see a few new drinks on the menu and a positive atmosphere from the staff (mostly). I say mostly because the waitress was extremely aggressive, it made my whole group very uncomfortable. She mentioned for us to open a new tab with her multiple times - so she could get the tip, I assume. None of us wanted to put down another card (we had one open with the bartender) and when she suggested us closing our first tab to order through her since we weren't sitting at the bar, it made us close out and just leave altogether to avoid being further harassed. I assumed ordering through the bartender (having classic bartender banter, asking cocktail questions, ordering on our own time, etc) then taking a seat was allowed - but apparently not anymore. Boy has Hula Hula changed! We almost felt bad leaving until we saw her curse out another employee as we left. We stopped coming to Hula Hula for a while but were excited to come back. But after this interaction (more like interrogation), we are sticking with other karaoke bars in the area. I guess come here if it's fun for you to be harassed and made uncomfortable by the staff. This is HANDS DOWN the best karaoke bar in Seattle, 365 days per week at 9 pm. Professional Sound Engineers and musicians running the sound boards as well as a variety of stage lighting, fog machine, bubbles, foam, lasers, and other effects. Plus, they play soft core porn during musical breaks sometimes. This is a much more social version of karaoke than some places with private rooms, lots of regulars and other random customers who can sing like hell, but people sing along and applaud no matter your vocal skill, especially if you've just got stage presence. It can get get busy on the weekends, show up early if you want to sing more than once, sign up for karaoke starts at 830, Karaoke starts at 9. Kitchen is open till midnight, I'm pescatarian so I can't speak to most of the menu, but the fish tacos and sliders are good. If you're vegan or true vegetarian there's not many options for healthy food. They have a great cocktail menu and cocktails for 2 - 4 people as well.
